Iím not sure why, but Iíve grown to loath pseudo-Barca teams of this ilk. And despite being shit, theyíve done us a couple of times since theyíve been in the PL.

Curious as at how we apply ourselves in this game. Iíd like to see us be professional and put them to the sword; weíre a better team, letís show it.A couple of wins to see us in the off-season should give the club a bounce.

I do too because a mate of mine was giving it large about how Everton should have gone for Howe as he was th3 best we could get.

One would think that our hiring of Don Carlo would end that kind of bullshit talk.  But non-Evertonian football enthusiasts can be pretty awful (and frankly, we are bad enough ourselves).

The Martinez game with the pitch Invasion was a watershed moment for me. I realised we'd been had and he was never going to come good.

I've never really recovered to be honest. i think beating them and sending them down would be a good exorcism of sorts.

The total opposite of how I felt under Moyes for most of his reign here, always felt if anything we would go on to win the game.

Despite his first season of 72 points I still think Martinez was the worst of the bunch, it's a horrifying thought how he would have absolutely ruined us.

A true wolf in sheeps clothing, all smiles and a way with words but his levels of delusion was borderline psychotic.

Just told you what you wanted to hear, the type of man who would take a dump on your plate, serve it you and with his dying breath try his best to convince you it was chocolate mousse.

Some of the tripe he came out with after some of the games genuinely made me feel physically sick.

A truly horrid man that has never made me more apathetic towards Everton ever.

Looking back he was actually the start of the wasted money.

Nearly £25m on Mori and Niasse was massive money for us then, the same more or less as the fee for Lukaku.

Also, weirdly, he didnít actually leave us with that many ďfootballersĒ in the team.

Which we still havenít solved hence issues with controlling matches with the ball

There were literally 100s upon 100s of Evertonian football enthusiasts who wanted Eddie Howe to be our next manager, even AFTER the solid links to Carlo started being reported. Something about English manager, got Bournemouth promoted blah blah blah.

Moyes' last couple of years got me on the way out, then Martinez pulled me back in.  But by the time he left I was further out than when he arrived, and I've not found my way back.  If it wasn't for this place I'd be completely done with football.

He definitely begun the slide didn't he.

At least Moyes had an element of continuity with his signings.

It's the main reason why Martinez did so good in his first season, he stuck with Moyes solid defensive foundations and just added a bit of his own in the final third.

His latter signings where more bizarre when you consider the fact that his first window with us was actually quite a good one.

Barry and McCarthy were one of our best midfield pairings in ages and when you add Lukaku to that it was some shrewd business.

All the more wierd that he completely 180'd himself and just screwed everything.

We are still lumbered with Tarashaj now from when he was here, he just lost all control of every aspect of managing the club.

Looks like I'll miss this one.

Hope we annihilate them and send them down. Head into the short break until next season on a good note.

A win outs us 2 points short of where we finished last season and given how awful we were until about mid December that would at least give us some hope that Europe is possible next year.

Hope DCL scores 5 and Solanke gets bossed by Branthwaite. Still annoys me that anyone can think Solanke is anywhere near DCL.

I don't think the monetary difference between 11 and 12 is going to get anyone too worked up.  Every little bit helps, though.

Much more significant when still talking "8th v. 14th" money.

My two favourite Martinez quotes are when he said it was better to play well and lose, than play badly and win... And that Gareth Barry was the best English player of all time 😂😂😂

In the interview with Carragher where he said the club outright don't practice defending in any way shape or form is a personal favourite of mine.

His reasoning was that "it is inevitable that you will concede" so just try and be superior to the opposition and just concede for the hell of it.

Probably the main reason we cocneded so much in injury time.

ANCELOTTI: 'WE ARE BROUGHT TOGETHER BY OUR LOVE FOR FOOTBALL AND PASSION FOR EVERTON'

Motivation is never an issue if you are professional and serious about your work.

Today we can continue our strong form at Goodison and finish the season with two victories.

We didnít play with high quality in the first half at Sheffield United on Monday.

But you can accept this if you are competing and trying for the victory.

Our opponents had the incentive of going for European qualification but we showed we wanted to win for Everton.

There was pride in our work.

I could see we wanted to fight and be aggressive and protect our goal.

In the second half, we showed more of our ability.

Richarlison headed a fantastic goal and, with more care, we could have scored more on the counter-attack.

Sheffield United pushed for their equaliser with crosses and long balls and some good build-up play but Jordan Pickford did not have to make one save.

It was a big defensive effort from all the players Ė our main striker, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, won some important headers when he came back to help.

But our centre-backs were really solid.

I said straight away when I came I was impressed by Michael Keane.

He is showing he can be a leader in our defensive line.

Jarrad Branthwaite is surprising me with his composure, he has a lot of skills but also the character and personality to be with us.

Our organisation and structure have been good in this period.

I can see my teamís defensive identity beginning to take shape.

We have made it hard for teams to create chances against us even when our football has been below our best.

We have conceded seven goals in eight matches since the restart and had three clean sheets.

Three of those goals were in one match, at Wolves.

I was clear on my feelings after that game.

It showed what happens when you lose your important characteristics.

But my players reacted from that match how I wanted.

First, they were concentrated in training.

I could see the result and performance against Wolves hurt them and they wanted to show their real face in the rest of the season.
It is normal for a young player to lose focus if he makes a mistake but Jarrad stays in control.

He is a confident boy and has the attitude to learn and improve.

The Clubís scouts deserve credit for finding him in League Two Ė and the people at Carlisle United did a really fantastic job developing this player and person.

We welcome Eddie Howe and the staff and players of Bournemouth.

I know about Eddieís work with his club.

To go from the bottom of the fourth division to the Premier League Ė it is an incredible story.

Bournemouth have been a bit unlucky this season, I think.

They have a clear idea of how they want to play and we know it will be tough to take the points.

We are 11 matches unbeaten here and it is a positive sign we have continued this run in an empty stadium.

The noise and intense feeling you create drives us at Goodison Ė it can be decisive in key moments Ė and I am pleased the players managed to continue in a good way without this help.

We want to get better in every aspect and our work on improving the squad and preparing for next season will begin as soon as we are finished today.

The cover of this programme is devoted to the Evertonians we have lost since you were last at Goodison with us nearly five months ago.

I send my condolences to all the families and friends affected.

We are brought together by our love for football and passion for Everton and I will cherish the day when you are by our side again.

I just want to finish by saying thank you for your backing throughout the season and how you have supported me from the moment I joined the Club.

I have been fortunate to manage some great clubs around the world and I can honestly say that Evertonians are special.

I look forward to what we can achieve together in the future.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and stay healthy,

Carlo.

Kean needs to show something in a sense that if he doesnít thereís a good chance we will bring in another striker as back up and he could end up further down the ranks. No manager seems to fancy him thus far. That is not up for debate

Get it quick out from Pickford, so we can slow it in midfield, and eventually get the back pass to Pickford.

Or

Short pass to wide defender, pass between goalie and defenders, lose ball, defend attack.

Seems to be the two options we are currently using right now once we stop an attack.

Get it quick out from Pickford, so we can slow it in midfield, and eventually get the back pass to Pickford.

Or

Short pass to wide defender, pass between goalie and defenders, lose ball, defend attack.

Seems to be the two options we are currently using right now once we stop an attack.

Has backed out of every single opportunity to tackle or chase a loose ball to the line.

I know we dont like gylfi, but that was a poor pass from richy, you can't just decide people should be in a certain space and smash the ball in there  and then complain after.

Think richy has looked off it so far today

It's either the lowest, or 2nd lowest ever. So is 34 pts getting you relegated. The table was utter shite this year.

Only way we get better at passing it out is by keeping on with it, in meaningless games especially. Better players obviously, but see Pep's first season at City.

If we lump it, we'll lose it and then just have them coming back at us over and over again.

Nope. That would be us in 2004/05 with 61!

We also had have the record for the highest points to finish outside the top 4 in 2013/14 with 72

When I was 5 years old, my brother (3 yrs old at the time) was walking toward a coffee table and I kicked his butt, shoving him forward face-first into the corner of the table. He needed stitches. I've been a bastard my whole life.

Doesnít work if we do it regardless though. When they push players forwards for the press weíve got to be willing to then go long

The idea is they commit and we get space, it would work if the players were better, it's Carlo trying something for the future.

I understand that but if Bournemouth are pushing up with 5 you either have to be great to play through it or go long and use all that space theyíve left. Weíve got to give them the fear we might go long or they push with more men then we can play through

Eldest has a bump on the head so has gone to a and e

Baby has no need to be anywhere near a hospital so I've stayed home with her. Wish I'd fought my corner better and gone the hospital.

She'll be alright like. She fell from standing onto the back of head, on a carpeted floor, cried instantly, but then puked twice because she'd had chocolate to shut her up in the car half an hour before. Obviously head injury and vomit is best to get checked out but no need for a family day out

Hope the kiddo is just fine Si

Once, I was walking through the grocery store with my 3-year old twins (while then-wife was on a plane with my oldest kid).  Abby tripped and face-planted on her Happy Meal toy.  Right across the bridge of her nose, which then bled like I had slaughtered a chicken.

Thank fuck I knew where the bathroom was, and she only needed kike 1-2 stitches.

Her twin told me "Oh, Daddy, my heart is broken!" But she loved watching the stitches go in, and Abby was a real trouper.

My ex was then not a super forgiving person, especially with me.  THAT was a fun phone call to make LMAO.

At the end of the day, that small scar was helpful in telling those very identical kids apart.

The thought of trying to get a tune out of the likes of Sig, Pickford, Davies, Iwobi, Keane etc... next season without a huge fund to replace them might be too much of a realisation that he could be enjoying life somewhere a lot more pleasant than this and who could blame him.

Admire the people who pay hundreds of pounds and waste a hundred hours as season ticket holders. I wouldnít commit to watching 19 games of this even if it were free and only a minute away. Disgraceful lot. Weíve signed a load of unloveable cowards

If we could get rid of the rest, not just play 422, and bring in 2XCMís, RB, RW, and maybe a GK and a CB, Iíd be optimistic. But, itís not happening in one window. And probably not in three windows, even.

Everton need to be very careful how they tread next couple of seasons. 6 years of steady regression. We are no longer a solid 6-7th place club and have moved down firmly into the next tier of mid table solidity.  That drop might even come quicker if we don't start getting that recruitment right over next few seasons.

Not worried about Ancelotti leaving. He's talked about it being a longterm project repeatedly, he took over us in the relegation zone and he said that this could be his most satisfying job in management, if he gets us right up the table - so he's under absolutely no illusions as to what he's come to.

More worried that Ancelotti doesn't have the answers and won't have the answers in future. That's not a dig at him by the way, more that we're a joke of a football team and have been for some time.

She'll be alright like. She fell from standing onto the back of head, on a carpeted floor, cried instantly, but then puked twice because she'd had chocolate to shut her up in the car half an hour before. Obviously head injury and vomit is best to get checked out but no need for a family day out

I realise itís almost certainly a false dawn, but in the interest of fairness Sig was much more involved in open play today, same as last week.

Nobody is buying him so I fear Carlo might have to get a tune from him

Only really two positives for me today, Kean and the ref blowing the final whistle to end the season.

Shite season, just hope Carlo is the main that can transform things. Need to have a great transfer window, otherwise we really could be in trouble.

I've zero confidence in Everton ever being successful again.

Hard to disagree. At least we don't have to watch them again for a while, on the positive side.

Baines has gone - if Coleman followed where is the heart and spirit we need going to come from ?

I'm worried.

What heart and spirit?
We've been a pushover since Moyes left.

6 weeks not much time to get rid of all those players and sign 4 first teamers.

I just hope Carlo wields the axe and gets rid of 80% of the wankers, there are only three I would keep
Richarlison Gomez and Digne fuck the rest off the useless shitheads they are just a load of pussies that roll over

Carlo Ancelotti need to start the make over this summer. Get out the players with wrong mind set and attitude. Get in players that care and want to die for him. The average money grabbing shit we have now need to go. The problem is that this is not done in a heartbeat... maybe Carlo can get in 2-3 proper players this summer... But it's gone be a struggel, who wants to play for a mid table team... not the best players that's for sure. Let's hope the name Carlo Ancelotti will bring in the names we need, if not we are gone be stuck just where we are next season also.
