Reckon Gana plays up top for his pressing high up the pitch and leg work. Itís dogs position he is filling for now. We donít need that much creativity against anyone but the top 6 so it works for now.

We donít have the player to play that position besides Gana or Sig.

Yeah, that performance will shut us up for a while. If we keep winning it's a step in the right direction.

Retaining the present set up could not be deemed a step in the right direction for any ambitious club . We have only beaten Leicester who were in the top half of the table .

Tbf beaten Newcastle twice (are they 10th)?

We should also play ok every now and again anyway.

Issue is thereís no obvious reason when that ok performance will be as there are no set patterns.

It was dross again until the first goal and then they panicked and it opened the game up as they kept giving it away.

Which kind of epitomises our current approach. Our No 10 position is filled by a lad who would chase a crisp packet round the park on a windy day but looks lost with a football.

They were only in the top ten once when we played them though.

Out 45M pound guy is injured. The 24M one doesnít look to have legs to play there and Rooney definitely canít. Sometimes, needs must.

Not having that. Although it seems to be working it's a very negative, short term approach when we have players like Vlasic or Klaassan to use in what are effectively dead rubbers.

I agree. i am just giving you the football side why. for a defensive manager, you look to break up their play first, not be pro-active with the ball. it is what's wrong with Allardyce.
