Nothing of value to add, I'm barely in the UK and haven't been to Goodison since 1999... but I just want to say that I'm so sorry to read this.

sam of the south

Man, reading this made me feel sad and angry in equal measures.

All white people have a responsibility to stand up to white bigots.

No excuses 👊🏼

Big up, @SANA_DR0 for being honest and putting yourself in a vulnerable position.

Much love, brother

yeah, badly shit and (unfortunately) expected to be honest.

Out of 40 thousand people, the massive majority are going to be sound. But the area is pretty racist and so it's easy to believe that in every block of the ground there will be 1 or 2 cunts and (naturally) these are going to be the only people you hear.

Have you sat in the upper Gwladys? Traditionally that's always been full of the more out-of-town students and more mellow than the LG. (New park end can similarly be considered more mellow)
The 3 stands on Goodison road tend to be full of middle-age & older locals who grew up in an era where everybody was a bellend and so i'd imagine it would be one of the worst places to be.

I appreciate you shouldn't have to make allowances like this (and it's not lost on me that i have just lumoed thousands of people into stereotypes based on where they are from/where they sit) but it is what it is for the time being.

Can't wait for all the people who think that because they don't notice it then it mustn't happen to appear though. But Bally is in this thread now, so you'd be a fucking moron to naysay here.

I think ive been in the main stand every time, never been in the Gladys or Bullens road ends, maybe thats the reason for the comments, due to there being lots of locals/middle aged folk.

I was looking at the seats located on FE4/FE5 and PK3

Appreciate everyone responses, thank you.

Gobsmacked to hear this happened in 2017. I have no explanation other than the hope it will not happen again. Most of my friends support Liverpool FC and from conversations it is commonly agreed that the Liverpool fan profile is very different to the Everton fan profile. We joke on here about Norwegians LFC fans and make other remarks of a similar nature. It was said we have far more local postcode residents than the reds. The fact is that LFC's so-called brand name is international and has been established over many years since their undeniable great success in Europe. Consequently any observation via the match cameras show many Asians, Chinese etc. at Anfield, who may or may not be tourists. Everton on the other hand have no international brand name at all in the Far East and I guess an Asian person at Everton  would stand out. No excuse of course.  I think Man Utd also have a good Asian following for similar historical reasons.  The big London clubs are different because of their multi-ethnic population. I hope you come and enjoy Everton home games.

I havent been since 2012,  the worst of it was during 2003-2006 over ten years ago.
I agree with the worldwide branding/history aspect. Just hope we can break through that market.

I was wearing the light blue/silver Keijen 125 anniversary top (only long sleeve top i've ever owned)
and yes, i thought the same, they may have thought i was Wolves fan, once we had been moved from standing against the back wall and where seated, things where a lot better.

Im just slighly uneasy walking from my car to the ground.. im pretty sure they're will be no issues, but i just want to be safe.

Please don't feel uneasy, tell someone if you do, or just scowl and ask them what the fuck are they looking at.

I would ask if you could suggest one solution to the problem what would it be.
It's the roll I way

LOL, I'm trying to stay out of trouble :p

Ive booked seat 111 in the paddock :D

I dont know what to suggest Bally, Move the ground to a more affluent area? which is going to happen anyway, I think that will be a big help other than that...umm. its a social issue, I would just say education, dont know how to apply that to Everton/football teams.

We all bleed Blue.

Take him on a tour for the Limassol game, if you're going yourself like. They're not going to pick on him when he's with you. :wag:

Deffo recommend a Bally tour

Gutted for you.

Shouldn't happen to anyone but it seems somehow worse when it's within my Blue family.

I'm sure the majority would speak up for you if anything was to happen again and I know you want to avoid confrontation but please report anything that happens and don't let the bastards get away with it.

Wishing you much happier visits in the future, brother!

I'm only here for the cladding/Bramley Moore Dock updates

I havenít seen any racist abuse at goodison in a long time, although I donít doubt it happens. As has been said people can be dicks. I do know what your saying about the gwladys tho, itís not the most diverse of places. In fact I can only think of one black fella Iíve ever seen in there. The fact he stood out so much doesnít reflect well. I do think itís a combination of the demographic of the area as well as the reputation Everton have had in the past. As opposed to the vast majority not welcoming non white supporters. What bothers me most tho is not just that it happened, but that no one stood up for you told the pricks to shut the fuck up and welcomed you with a warm handshake (or a nod. More likely a knowing nod).

Weíre are you planning on parking on Thursday?

If I meet people at the game I always take them on a tour and bump into people I know, just so you can gauge the actual level of abuse that people can take hahaha

Awful that. It should be Everton making you wish that you didn't go the game, not the fans.
