Title: Wigan Athletic vs Everton
Post by: Mahoney on January 29, 2010, 06:21:38 AM
I'm going for 1-2 to Everton. About time King Louis netted and Cahill to continue his scoring form. Scharner for them.

I'd start the same team/formation as Sunderland too. If it ain't broke...don't fix it.

Like said before, the chances of us playing better than last year are much brighter.
If we play like we did in the first galf against Sunderland, we should win this one.
Which is important taking into consideration our fixture list in February.

We need to start taking chances. I can see this being 1-0 to them, or 2-0 to us. Depends which Everton turns up.

Is that Stojkovic the one that turned up on trial with us and left without telling anyone?

haha just looked it up and it is

In July 2008, Sporting allowed Stojković to go to a trial at Premier League side Everton FC, with a view to a loan deal. However, on July 22, he left his first training session after only an hour without explanation. The club's spokesperson said that Everton lost interest and that they'd been warned earlier that Stojković is a "complicated character".[8]

I feel bad for him, I really do. How can you ever be taken seriously with a name like Titus Bramble?

I feel more sorry for his brother Tesfaye Bramble. What sort of parent does that to their kid.

I was thinking that Bramble sounds like a clumsy name, is it Titus or the name itself that gives me that association. I have to admit I nearly put him down for an own goal as well. Figueroa has looked a bit dopey since that belter from his own half, can see Landycakes causing him some problems.

We watching the same game? Wigan had a few chances, but we hit the post once, had a clear penalty that the ref missed, and other few good chances that we could have scored on. We also had 5 shots on target + 3 off target. Wigan had a total of 3 shots total.

blarg please stop before I die of laughter...

I'm watching the game where wigan have clearly had the better chances, been making great, clean tackles left and right to cut off our passing, and in all honesty (ie, no blue-tinted glasses) should probably be up by a goal or two

oh and it's at the DW Stadium, not JJB

Christ, they've not run us rampant. Chances have been pretty equal.

And I always get theirs and Bolton's grounds mixed up because they are so plastic.

To be honest the linesman could have easily given a penalty. The contact was probably just about on the line and by the letter of the law the line is a part of the penalty area. Lucky there.

Always said it mate, the lad's extremely talented I would definitely have him here. He's not scared to drive and run at people, which is something we need. I guess that's why everyone is wanking themselves into a coma over Donovan, because he does that and offers us something different.

Think that the commentator on the Sopcast one was Scott Minto and i've never heard more idiotic commentry in my life, When NZogbia got checked by Heitinga it was defo outside the box and he said it's on the line and then claimed that it was definately a penalty, also how the hell was Cahill onside when his legs were definately behind the last defender and it doesnt matter if his head is offside that and Fellaini was definately onside aswell. On top of that N'Zogbia has impressed me since newcastle and i'd definately take him for his pace and dribbling alone.

Agreed, would cost a pretty penny unfortunately. But several clubs must be looking at him, he is Wigan's main threat, links well with Rodellaga as well.

Just seen Insua's goal, typical Liverpool goal.

A good following from Everton. The unemployed football fans seem to have been the least affected in the recession hence the large away following. They were noticably quiet though until going in front.
