Mirallas Barkley Deulofeu just looks beautiful on the page! Can't help but feel its overly attacking against a side that can keep the ball better than anyone but then I'm just going to let RM work his positive magic and let Arsenal worry about us instead for a change.
Who's the ref? Atkinson was alright last night before turning a slight shade of red after the Vidic dive.
Why isnt Pienaar in the OP team? Been one of our best players recently, first name on the sheet for me.

Rather rest him vs Fulham.yeah defo agree with this. We will need him at arsenal and then give him a rest (if needed) v Fulham where we should be on front foot
3 games in 8 days is a big ask if you ask me. He looked pretty tired to me in the second half last night as well.
By the way how narrow does their team look with Wilshere and Cazorla on the wings? We really need our full backs involved as much as possible.
Agreed. And look at how involved Deulofeu was within minutes of coming on last night. Should of scored and gave them all manner of problems.
Pinning back their full backs with pace on both flanks gives us the best possible chance of beating them. We're full of confidence just now, lets use that.
Playing Pienaar as it's the "safe" option is what Moyes would have done. We're better than that now. We won the game last night by taking the game to Utd. Lets do the same here.
Would take a draw here any day of the week. I fully expected to take 1 point from arsenal and utd, so may aswell go for the win here aswell!
No playing Pienaar is the best option as he provides the best link between the midfield and the attacking players.
Too many like minded players can lead to a disjointed attack.
Last night we lost balance with Deulofeu and Mirallas on the pitch. It was only restored when Osman came on to act as a link at the point of the midfield.
It's criminal how under rated he is, all because he doesn't run at players it seems. He makes us tick, everytime he got the ball last night he made it stick and he's always looking for that killer ball. Playing a 3 of Barkley, Mirallas, and Delofew is a massive risk.
I haven't left him out because he isn't good enough. Left him out in case of fatigue.
He's by far our most intelligent player and the only attacking player who can control the tempo of a game from that position. He's also probably the most fouled player in the league.
Can't believe you left him out.
That's it, I'm changing my poster of the year nomination!
Pienaar will play and score and reveal a t shirt that has a Mandela based message on it

Is it wrong that I still love Mikel? :)
In my dreams, once he hangs his boots up, he returns to us to get his coaching badges.
I can see him taking over the reins in 10 years to keep us playing toffee taka, as Bobby moves on to manage Catalonia Independencia to victory over Manchester Murdochs in the Oligarch series.
1-1 is what keeps floating into my brain. I hope for more, but don't really expect it.
Possibly no Flamini or Wilshere for Arsenal. Providing McCarthy and Barry didn't empty the tank on Wednesday, they could be able to control the midfield and gives us the platform for a good result. Fingers crossed.
Kopite behaviour.
YNFA?
Pienaar will be determined to score. No doubt he will have his vest on with RIP Mandela on, and he'll want to score to pay tribute.

Don't think he was expected to play anyway Check the OP line up. My line up predictions are infallible.

They're very confident aren't they?

I reckon he might come back as a player within 2 years
This why I don't like Arsenal. They think they're entitled to play their football and that any attempt to stop them is against the rules. The players think it too. They're nearly as bad as Barca for trying to referee the game. Noticed last season against us and then against Man Utd.

Have you seen it on here though? We think we can beat anyone and they're top of the league so of course they'll be thinking the same way it is a home game after all.
Fair enough they are confident. They are the favourites. It's just that their players and fans view any attempt to stifle their gameplan as 'kicking them off the pitch' and that they and Saint Arsene are above such vulgarities. It's hypocritical, especially when Wilshere charges around the pitch like an idiot, leaving the boot in but when they're on the end of they're up in arms at the ref.
I just read the whole thing and some of them are twats as you'd expect on any forum really, one thing I found funny was someone saying that were a decent team but Martinez has us punching above our weight. How many managers are we going to have that keep us doing better than expected before teams just realise were actually good.
Hopefully they'll realise tomorrow after we beat them haha!
Some bad shouts in there though. One of them said something like "as if we'll lose to a team with Gareth Barry in it". Barry came out today and said Arsenal tried to sign him this summer.
Missing this as I'm out on a date.
I am not impressed.
Who was on a date while the united game was on?
Craig?
Worked last time!! If we win we might need to make the NSNO date night a regular thing for match days.
Haha, it was me, Lizz.
Hopefully there is something to it...
I'm having lunch with my daughter, so hopefully that counts too!
Does anyone else hate watching us live on telly?I always put it down to wanting everton to show the audience we are decent. At a game it's only blues anyway
When I'm at the match I'm much less nervous throughout the game, until it gets late on and we're hanging on etc. Watching it on telly though I'm on the edge of my seat the whole match and my heart races as though it's the 90 minute all game!

Got a bad feeling about this....Howard has shaved his beard...
Does anyone have any spare tickets for the Arsenal game? Would be very grateful if you did!
Getting nervous now.
Really hoping we've lost the only game we're going to lose this season at City.
This is the type of game I can never get too hyped up about as we always do terrible here.
Weve had an alright record there recently havn't we? Obviously not won but some near misses.
I'm hoping for an early red card for arsenal.
That would be lovely, Eddie. Ramsey professional foul and a penalty would be nice.
howard shaved, is this a worry?
A win here would mean so much more than the win at Old Trafford. Arsenal are in full swing and at the top of their confidence, if we can break them here, we can do anything.

Nice to see a few of the boys giving Mikel a little hug.
Remember to bookmark all of this positivity so if we do lose today we don't start saying that we're shit.

barkley can be sloppy at times
QPR at home in the FA Cup. That'll do nicely.
Imagine what he'll be like in 2 yrs. have to keep hold of him
Big let off there.they sent 8 men on that attack, wish we could have had a chance to counter
Stream keeps sticking
this is perfect so far http://atdhe.xxx/soccer/watch-arsenal-vs-everton-4j591 (http://atdhe.xxx/soccer/watch-arsenal-vs-everton-4j591)
Wilshere needs to pipe down the little knob
Gary Neville lovin usyep, he's willing us a goal :)
Wilshere needs to pipe down the little knob
Did the Arse fans just boo them off?
So how do we get a tiny bit more cutting edge?
Oh wait, there's a little Spanish kid who might have something to offer at some point....
I definitely heard some boos!
Did the Arse fans just boo them off?
Brilliant first half performance my lad jokingly said, which ones Arsenal ? Should be making our domination count with goals though. They're the team in red
They're the team in red
for those watching in black and white, Everton are the team with the ball
Worried about the Barry booking. Wonder will RM sub him?
Fair shout that with the crowd on webb's back and that shithouse Wiltshire going on his arsenal crying every 5 mins.
I forget how much I hate Wilshere, and then we play against him.
If this is how "parking the bus" looks like I sure hope we do it till the end of the season.
Proper getting pissed off with whoever the commentator is. Kept saying Arsenal were having an off day the whole time we were dominating. And now almost having orgasms cos they are playing much better. Saying how amazing they are >:(
Oh well, be even better when we score i guess.
McCarthy misses the Fulham game then
soft booking - especially as he played the ball
Get Mirallas off. He's doing nothing
Have that you biased cunts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Paranoid much? Gary Neville's been up our arse most of the game.

Great foul little man.

I need a hug :( i cant take this.
as if they're asking for a penalty for that! But a keeper is allowed to go two footed in?
Lukaku absolutely beasted Koscelny there!
So my heart is loving this but my head says to go and put money on Fulham to beat us next week!
So my heart is loving this but my head says to go and put money on Fulham to beat us next week!
we're playing scintillating football at the momentPerhaps even the most...?
Roberto has turned this team into a real entertaining side
will be interesting to hear post match comments from both managers....
Four points from those two games is a very good week.
Thought Coleman was excellent especially defensively today, in fact the whole defence played well. Lukaku probably the only player not at their best today although no doubting his passion or workrate.
Wenger will be whinging & RM will be happy and full of class.
Who got the tv man of the match, my stream went off at the final whistle. Unbelievable hit from giroud at the end. point each is fair
Obviously. .. Wenger had a right face on him at the end....
Barkley. The poor lad didn't blink when being interviewed! His potential is massive. Hope We get to see it all. Sky will be trying to sell him on in the summer
Face like a pinched ferret.
What a game! I think a point was a fair result in the end.
The strike from Giroud at the end was something else...
Cue the 'everton were very resilient' shouts from the media. Tyler was gutted when he seen the possession was 50-50 before after banging on about how dominant arsenal were on the ball.
Couldn't pick a MOM looking at the picks it's clear everyone has a different opinion, always a good sign. I went for Jags, thought he was outstanding but could have picked about 6 others.mccarthy for me
That was fucking awesome.
When Moyes gets sacked we'll have him back as chief scout. Davey can pick 'em, Bobby can tell them how to play.
His potential is massive. Hope We get to see it all. Sky will be trying to sell him on in the summer
Not bad for a side who will go and park the bus, are a bunch of thugs and have Gareth Barry and a kid from Wigan in midfield
Barkley. The poor lad didn't blink when being interviewed!
mccarthy for me
did so much work and covered so much ground to limit arsenal and keep us in posession
Eddie that quote you've attached to your posts is one of the funniest i've seen on here.
I hope to God that Barkleys decision making gets better soon, he needs to work on it. No doubt he is incredibly special, but he has cost us a lot of chances with very poor passes or holding on too long. I just hope it gets sorted out soon and there will be no stopping him or us.
Apparently Merson has said we could win the league? haha
Only negative point for me today was Lukaku.
Only negative point for me today was Lukaku.
Only negative point for me today was Lukaku.
Still you can bet Arsenal wete terrified of Lukaku. Loved at the end when he just bulldozed some random gooner off the ball and got his shot off. There were a few times when he could have had the ball slipped through to him but a different option was chosen
Only negative for me today was McCarthy getting booled and missing Fulham. That game will be tougher than some think without him
How did Deulofeu hit that goal? I've never seen anyone kick the ball like that before.
I went for Coleman just for MOM. Immense today.
Omg. Someone the Arsenal forum saying they destroyed us
Might make it easier to reward Deulofeu with a place in the team though.
Lukaku
Mirallas Pienaar Deulofeu
Barry Barkley
Omg. Someone the Arsenal forum saying they destroyed us
Mouthwatering proposition just do it Roberto.
Omg. Someone the Arsenal forum saying they destroyed us
Looked like the home team very very happy with the last two games, COYB still not on the martinez band wagon yet but hes slowly winning me over
I guess now we have played all the top sides except Southampton(since they are playing well). If we win the games we ideally should be we would be very close to the top by the time we go to Anfield.
Your fuckin joking fight?? Tell me your joking?
link?

How did that even happen  He needs to do that more often rather than slotting it. Also was I the only one screaming for him to pass it to Seamus?
I was screaming "hit it!!!" and then he did. and boy did he hit it. I don't think I've ever seen a shot like that before.
Great result and an even better performance!I`m sorry i doubted his appointment now
The speed at which we have taken on board the new manager's ideas is the most encouraging thing. I didn't think we would see such confidence on the ball for a good while. But Roberto is presiding over a team of fearless bastards, with the confidence to outplay anyone home or away. He deserves great credit for shattering the inferiority complex so quickly.

Loads of arsenal fans on twitter saying we've been the best side they've played this season.
Going off this the amount of BITTER red shite fuming at everyone praising us is priceless!
Had to go out so I listened to the last 20 mins of the match on the car radio. That Alan Green is a proper biased cunt who looks a bit like Baron Green Back from Dangermouse.
Arsenal made 3 substitutions and fat shite Alan Green, (Eamon Holmes' sister in drag), said Wenger was possibly resting them for the Napoli game.
IT WAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT THE EVERTON BOYS BOSSED THEM IN MIDFIELD.
That Alan Green is a proper biased cunt who looks a bit like Baron Green Back from Dangermouse.
I was listening to the 1st 35 mins on Radio 5 and it sounded like we were playing shit. I then watched the games on a stream to hear Gary Neville waxing lyrical about our dominance of the game.
Total fucking gobshite.
Understand why people want to hilight Barkley for mom but he's still a work in progress for me. Infuriating at times he can do things that make him stand out on the pitch and then misplace the most simple of passes, it will come but he's still a few basic things to learn.
I agree. But patience is a virtue. Give him 50 more games, which won't take long now he's established himself, and we'll have a serious player on our hands. The upside of him making his mistakes is that it's going to help him become a better player sooner
As Paul Merson was saying, it's a huge deal to play Ross in that position at 20 years old. And it's perfect that he can rotate with Leon Osman as neither are going to pull a tantrum.
Can believe this shite from Wenger... got zero respect for him after this...
Arsene Wenger accused Everton of dirty tricks after the Toffees hit back to hold the league leaders in a hugely-entertaining game at the Emirates.
Everton backed up their 1-0 win at Manchester United in midweek with another impressive display, controlling the first half, but Wenger felt Roberto Martinez’s men relied a little too much on a physical and cynical approach.
‘When we got out of the pressure and got into the passing, they stopped us every single time with a foul,’ he said.
‘To just make a foul without being punished by the referee is a huge advantage because after that you play ten against ten in one half again.’
Wenger ? No, :wanker:
Great stats today:Would be interesting to see who was the last team to out-pass Arsenal at the Emirates. I think it's probably been quite a while since that happened.
Possession: AFC 44% EFC 56%
Passes: AFC 403 EFC 515
Accuracy: AFC 79% EFC 84%
Shots: AFC 11 EFC 12
please tell me you have a link :) :)
overachieve and shrewd, the words MOTD describe with us. :) lol

Is that really what they said? Jesus - how many years do we have to over-achieve for before anyone will finally accept that we actually a good team?

Thing is though, under Moyes our fullbacks would get forward as well, so I don't get why they're focusing on that.
Thing is though, under Moyes our fullbacks would get forward as well, so I don't get why they're focusing on that.
I don't think they did unless I missed it. They praised us on the whole although mills said girouds (spelling) wonder strike (that didn't hit the target) was worthy to get arsenal the three points.
Thing is though, under Moyes our fullbacks would get forward as well, so I don't get why they're focusing on that.probably a mixture of lazy journalism and not fully appreciating our overall play because again, it'll go against the "top four". I hope we smash that top four by a few points and show what we're all about. Ive never felt this optimistic for a loooong long time.
I said this prior to the game as skysports highlighted it too. I can only think it's because they pay us so little attention they just didn't notice our fullbacks have done this for a while.
It's fucking criminal some of the shit they say about us.
They should start focusing on Jags bringing it out from the back, or Tim Howards improved distribution, or our ability to dictate a game, or how dangerous we are on the counter attack. These are things that Martinez has changed, not the full backs.
It was in the build up. They put up dictionary definitions about the two teams and those were our words
But to do that Hansen and Shearer would actually have to watch the games. They haven't got time for that, despite being paid large sums of money to do nothing but watch, think and talk about football.what do you think it will take? Finishing top four? Europa league? Or a big convincing win?
That's fucking shocking! Why do they treat us as though we were promoted 10 years ago and have been 'doing well' since?
Unless I don't have an alternative that'll be the last time I put motd on for highlights. Cunts.
Simple. Because of David Moyes.
what do you think it will take? Finishing top four? Europa league? Or a big convincing win?
That's becoming clearer by the week! On another note who speaks Spanish? It says...
@MarioSuarez4: Que buen equipo este Everton de Roberto Martínez y que golazo de Deulofeu! #españolesporelmundo #ole
It says...
What a great team RM's Everton is and what a great goal by GD.

It always amazes how wound up people get about what is or isn't being said about us on the likes of MOTD. The media in general are pretty complimentary about us, even if they aren't always full of knowledge, the likes of Coleman being a right winger turned right back is one example that has come up a couple of times recently.
We know how well we're doing, that's all that really matters and if it keeps going people will soon sit up and take notice.
Maravilloso!
It pisses me off when 'pundits' talk about us doing well with an intonation in their voice like they have discovered something new that no one, including Everton fans, have noticed. John Collins was a rare exception today where he said how good we were and it was expressed as a well known fact with no element of surprise in his voice.
Then you get the rest of them saying 'ooh, Everton are doing well this season aren't they? They can't keep it up though...'

It's hardly a suprise that John Collins says that though.
And of course they're saying we can't keep it up, we still have a relatively small squad compared to the big money clubs. They're saying the same about Arsenal too.
Merson and Collins were great, as was Neville. Tyler on the other hand had us beat soon as they scored.
Ex players on Sky are very, very good pundits. Merson, Hoddle, Souness, Nevile, all chat complete sense without any form of big club bias. The journos and anyone that works for the BBC and BT on the other hand chat the same old cliche ignorant shite. Savage and Owen being the absolute worst for it.
Didnt BT call our win at United a "smash and grab"
Is it so much to ask these people to do their jobs properly though?
It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but its get slightly infuriating when week in week out it's the same old big club bias.
They're job is to give their opinion, and that's all it is, one person's opinion.
Don't they sell bras for the more voluptuous lady?
Being somewhat a sad old man.......I always take a look at the opponents fans forums after our games and the Arsenal fans almost to a man thought Everton were the best team they have faced this season --- it matters not one iota what Danny Mills and Hanson say, "those that know do in fact know"
I think a distinction has to be made here. Pundits are paid to give an opinion and that's fine. Most of them seem to have taken to us anyway.
But journalists aren't paid for their opinions, they're paid to report on or to sum up what happens on the pitch for those who can't see it. And when they practically misrepresent games, that can be infuriating. Although they're hardly worth wasting bile on in the big scheme of things.
Anybody else think Barry's yellow card was utter bollocks?completely

Love a good moan don't we?
Can't we just enjoy a good performance and a good result?
Who gives a fuck what journos think?
Love a good moan don't we?Y'know what you're right. As we say " we don't care what the red shite say" so ill take a leaf from that and not give a toss what anyone says or doesn't say if we know weve played good then thats all that matters. Im just gutted I only saw some measly highlights.

Last time we won the league (86-87) we had 3 fewer points than we do now after 15 games. IT'S ON!*

Is it just me who has genuine passionate hatred of arsenal? Their players dive relentlessly, but moan for everything. There fans cry at everything. And wenger is just a bitter sour old man. I dont even like arteta any more! and i didnt think that was possible!
It's just Wenger who I really dislike intensely. His ability as a manager is not in question but he is the most ungracious and miserable person I can remember in football. His "dirty Everton" quote in the Metro is typical of the bullshine he often uses after he's been tactically taken to the cleaners by an opposition coach and he can't face the fact that he's been bested. We were superior than his team in the possession and passing game on their own pitch today .
He would have gained more respect from everyone if he'd have given us some credit for something everybody witnessed . A sad and bitter old man .. No wonder their "fans?" are so bad
I know Collins played for us but I've never been convinced that he really took to Everton but maybe that's wrong.
As much as anything, John Collins was a lovely footballer, with a peach of a left peg, and he's always appreciated football played a certain way. I'm sure he does have some affection for us, judging by the tone in his voice today, but he seemed to be largely responding to the football that we served up. And we served it up alright.
