After yesterdays great result, im going for another win for the toffees, and im going for the same scoreline as yesterday, 2-1. i think the lanky zigic will cause our shaky defence problems and will score for them and becks with the 2 for us.
what about you lot?
-
After yesterday's great result i'm going for a draw or defeat. And then for a win against Fulham.
-
2-0 win.
I expected Birmingham to be on a high after the Carling Cup win but yesterday brought them back down to earth.
Same team as yesterday. If Neville is injured, Ossie into the middle and Coleman on the right.
-
we always follow a good result with a poor one, but birmingham really are they for the taking
-
Zigic is such shit. I actually think we'll be able to deal with him. For some reason strikers like Jerome seem to cause us problems.
-
Heiringa in for Neville!!! Coleman could do with a few games rest.
-
With a bit of luck we'll do them and they can drop into the bottom 3. Unfortunately, we follow a good performance with a dismal one, particularly at GP. This has draw written all over it
-
is this on wednesday? Then what dates are the next two games?
-
Sunday villa and the following sat fulham?

one change Hibbert for Coleman, Neville goes right back seamus right mid and ossie in the middle
-
but i expect no changes at all

LOL...or sighingOL. This sounds about right.
But too damn discouraging to fully embrace. So off to the land of wishful thinking with thoughts of a 4-1 to us. With a late Beckford brace, a goal for the reborn Arteta and another from Hibbo....If you're going to indulge in wishful thinking, you might as well go all the way -- and the int'l break will give the club time to repair the damage to the pitch done by the ensuing riot.

i think you will find zigic is far from been shit i have him ahead of Anichebe any day.

Bowyer for them Saha for us

I'd have brett angell ahead of Anichebe

Is he our new Chinese signing? Or is that racist as well?
-

Kinda.

Stop chatting shit.
-
I really don't want to see heitinga in midfield. If phil is out though I reckon it is inevitable and that isn't good. I would play bily if coleman does need resting putting osman in, the middle but moyes won't go for that

Howard
Coleman Jags Distin Baines
Arteta Osman Rodwell Bily
Beckford Saha
I'd keep Arteta out wide, but on the right, think he provides more of an outlet and protection for Coleman than Bily or Osman would.
-
Ferguson and Gardner are out, Zigic faces a late fitness test.
-
Howard
Coleman Jags Distin Baines
Arteta Osman Rodwell Bily
Beckford Saha
Exactly what I would like to see. I think this gives us plenty of skilled players on the field to put together some attractive attacking football together.
Regardless of our line-up I see us winning an ugly 1-0 game.
-
id like to see
-----------------------howard---------------------------------
Coleman------Jags-------Distin------------Baines
-------------Rodwell------------Heitinga-----------------
Osman-------------------------------------------Arteta
------------------Saha---------Becks-------------------
if its going to be heitinga and rodwell maybe it might be a idea to get coleman bombing forward as there is extra cover in the center of the park
-

We don't win ugly any more.
-
Hibberts going to play RB assuming he's fit so theres no point demanding Coleman, and frankly i'd put Coleman RM anyway assuming he's recovered some fitness after his rest with Arteta left side.
-
what time is kick off?
-
an ugly win would do me, havent done one of them in a while
-

8pm

Arteta on L and Ossie on R?
I believe so.

Arteta captain?
I thought Moyes said he would give Arteta less responsibilities so that he can concentrate more on his normal game. Also in the past I don't remember us doing very well when Arteta has been captain!
-
Jags not Captain? He's taken the armband the past two times Neville has come off before full time.

That was some of the worst defending I've ever seen. What were Jags and Hibbert doing?
Distin got pulled way out of position. Mind you it looked like Jags should've done better too. Hibbert was least to blame for me.
Another poor goal after a good start yet again.

Hibbert taking out his competition...
-
Theyve got Mutch to thank for that cross.
Were not defending Mutch
-
Well looks like we may not lose just our shot at Europe but half our team to injury at this rate.
-

You're right, we were all over the place.

Hibbert taking out his competition...
Straightest pass hibbert has ever done ;)
-
was that not a penalty???
-
You're right, we were all over the place.
Except where they should have been
-
In case you are unable to watch the match, here's a recap:
Arteta goes off after being tackled by an invisible player who takes out his hamstring.
We give up a terrible goal.
The match is paused so Jermaine Beckford can go pop some balloons that blow onto the pitch.
Hibbert takes out his competition by blasting a clearance into Coleman's face.
Next from the Goodison Comedy Troupe...

Nah he fell over

So are we playing better or worse then we did agains Bolton last midweek game we played?
-
This match is much more entertaining when you watch is with Australians doing the commentary.
-
With our injury crisis we need to get back some of our players we have out on loan
-
That was some of the worst defending I've ever seen. What were Jags and Hibbert doing?
Not the first time that question has been asked

The defence is rotten and needs sacking.

I know...let's keep pumping balls into the box for Saha and Beckford to challenge in the air with six foot + centre backs!!
Genius.

Johnny.
Corner was poorly cleared right to him and he curled it first time into the top corner.
Credit to Osman for not giving up and winning that corner.

Fuck, where did that Johnny beauty come from? lol

Beautuful strike. More of that please Heitinga. I really hope we don't see Anichebe at half time!

-
Osman's been fantastic tonight. Played on the right position he's a quality player, contrary to what some believe.
-
Anichebe is the poor man's Heskey, spends most of the time on his arse like Heskey, but is totally shite

One way traffic now, need something like Heitinga did first half, some Ossie magic or a just a nice run of the ball. Still time to take all 3 points, but seems a bit like some players are resigned to settling for a draw.
-
I hope Moyes treats this as if we are down 1-0. Honestly 1 pt doesn't do much for us. I would like to see us go all out for all 3

Unlucky there, we dominated this match and with some of our big names missing. Birmingham set out their stall to defend and were desperate for a point, thought Osman had a terrific game, we just couldn't break them down.

Are you fucking seroius? your right about osman he had a good game but we were fuckin awfull
-
Meh. I can't believe they tried to defend for the entire half.
Saha very poor tonight. Would rather have had Anichebe on for Beckford if anyone but for me Anichebe offered very little. Never looked like making an impact.
Osman took over well for Arteta at first but ultimately faded.
I guess at this juncture it is a point closer to safety.
-
Everton vs. Fulham next.
Traditionally we get 3pts from this fixture but given our home form against weaker opposition this season...
-
stale as fuck this club. No fresh ideas, nothing new
we need a change
-
coleman was shite again, abit like dan gosling so frustrating to watch at times at the amount of times he concededs possesion, and hibbo had a good game got in some great challanges, and jags is a awfull defender this season
-
We did what we have done all season, fucked about around the box without being able to create many real chances. Without Heitinga's wonder strike that would have been a loss, Birmingham play like we did years ago, organised and defensive, once again this season we have no answer to that.
Decent performances today from three that don't often get praise. Osman (MOTM), Hibbert, and Heitinga were decent in midfield.
-
Clueless in the final third :headbang:
-

Your posts on this site are stale. you never say anything new, same old drivel.
-
i know thats the last two games beckford has looked dangerous and saha has been wank but he opts to sub becks!! big vic was a pile of shite
-
Lacked final ball, space up front and a bit of guile to make something happen. But they defended as a priority and we played quite decent for the most part and controlled them pretty well.
We just need a bit more cutting edge around the box, has dropped us so many points this season.
-
i know thats the last two games beckford has looked dangerous and saha has been wank but he opts to sub becks!! big vic was a pile of shite
Not a fan of Vic but he was no less effective than the Beckford or Saha today. Nobody looked like scoring, Beckford's touch was atrocious and Saha looked knackered before the second half kicked off.
-
Disappointing result. It was always going to be difficult after Arteta went off as we were light creatively then. Never really got the ball wide either but when we did the final ball was poor again.
Hopefully we'll have Cahill back for the Fulham match and he'll be able to put a couple of chances away against them.
-
saha plays to deep for a striker he gets it lays it off wide and theres no one to cross it in to when cahills not there, also when he gets in good positions he fucks it up like he did AGAIN today
-
After the Bolton game I made the statement we need 12-15 pts from our next 5 PL matches. We currently have 7 pts from 3. If we win the next two we will still be in a position to qualify for Europe, pending other things go our way.
-
Yet another game where the same comments could have been made 15 other times this season. Tons of possesion against a team defending, but now cutting edge in the final third.
-

Yep, I might just save my comments to clipboard in future.
-
Too many air balls.
-
Are you fucking seroius? your right about osman he had a good game but we were fuckin awfull
A lot of people are being pretty harsh about the performance tonight, but I stick by what I said, we did dominate the game, they played for a point and defended well, and made it hard to break them down. Perhaps I'm comparing it to the Reading performance, of which tonights was a million times better than that
-
I don't see the point in moyes bringing vic on for becks, if there was a clear cut chance at the end of the game who would you rather it fall to? for me its beckford every time. vic does'nt offer us anything in the way of goals, so why moyes put him on for beckford. he should of brought him on for rodwell and played 3 up front cause i thought rodwell was cack tonight
-
everyone was cack exept ossie and hibbo, coleman was fucking disgustin
-
There was a lot of tonight's game that reminded me of the Reading match - lots of possession up to the final third, but then too easy to close down, with no Plan B, flair or creativity. We've become very easy to defend against.
-
On a slightly more positive note, we've moved up one place to 9th - possibly our highest position of the season so far!
-

And if my auntie had a cock she'd be my uncle.... :woohoo:
Be honest, Everton can't beat the bottom three sides in the EPL at HOME.......on the stream they said only three sides had worst home record than Everton, West Ham, Wigan and can't remember the other.
Of course it is tough when so many players who would be picked every game are out (or sold) but we are a long way off being a good team, match after match Everton frustrate the hell out of everyone who loves 'em.
-
I thought Coleman kept falling over all the time, then I realised my stream was replaying the same 5 minutes of the game over and over. It was like groundhog day, but worse.
Took about 20 minutes for me to realise.

We are not a long way off. That is the frustrating thing. A winger with pace and a 20-30 goal a season striker. £ = Problem.

Unfortunately, that = a long, long, long way off for us considering we have no £.

I thought Coleman kept falling over all the time, then I realised my stream was replaying the same 5 minutes of the game over and over. It was like groundhog day, but worse.
Took about 20 minutes for me to realise.
lolol

just got home from the game , Birmingham did what they do well ... defend ... The Arse had difficulty against them at wembley , unfortunately when Mikel went off our best hope of cutting them open went as well ... A couple of positives , Ossie played well again , Hibbo had his best game for a long time .. oh yeah Johnny's goal was a beaut . am I wrong in wishing Hibbo had scored it ? ... but as usual , for all our huffing and puffing the end product never arrived ... Finally thank fuck this is Peter Walton's last season ... the man with invisible yellow card :)

lolol lolol lolol
You can only imagine my horror when I discovered Johnny hadn't scored an amazing hattrick! ;)

i didnt go tonight but listened to it on city and thought we played well just didnt do enough in the final third. missed the birmingham goal on ssn but saw johnny's, what a beauty!!!!
glad i didnt come on here during the game, as per usual the same people come on spouting shit when things go wrong. its getting beyond boring now

Stop chatting shit.
Hibbert would create more problems than Anichebe. New Moyes tactic should be to deploy the 'Chaos Theory' and throw Tony in there.
Anichebe, once again, is utter garbage. 2 minutes, 10 minutes or a full game; every minute is depressing with him playing as an attacking option
-
Anichebe and Kenwright out!
-
we were flat i thought lacked any creativity (even more then normal) although we should of had a penalty i thought but we didnt create enough clear chances to deserve to win it
-
Lots of positives and lots of negatives for me.
Solid start, as we've done a lot recently. Went behind to a sloppily defended goal, again something we're prone to, Arteta looks to be out for a while, which is exactly what we didn't need right now. We then absolutely dominated possession, played some nice stuff against an average side but just couldn't work it into the goal and ended up taking one point from a game we should have easily had all three.
I'm not terribly upset about it right now, as the performance was *good* and we didn't lose, but I'll be frustrated later that we've drawn with fecking Birmingham once again!

Awful for me for 60 minutes we were happy to play side to side we only went forward for hit and hope and go wide and never through, Thank fuck we have outlets in Baines and Coleman to even go wide,
Saha chose not to chase anything down he was to busy thinking he was CM or a left Winger a massivley frustrating player,
Heitinga and Rodwell was the most inneffective CM partnership we have on the books Heitinga pretended to be a Composer of an orchestra tell everyone else what to do without ever touching the ball, Rodwell was sloppy and not up for it and proved why Potential is the word used when describing him,
Hibbert proved he can defend and not actually do anything with a football "Limited" was the word that comes to mind,
Beckford has the ability to do well i wish he would be coached properley his work off the ball is fantastic his ability to make chances for himself is fantastic what isn't is his ability to hold the ball up he needs to be encouraged to start playing the simplest pass to get off the ball as soon as possible,
Osman busted a gut every opportunity and him racing to close Carr down and win a corner was the best thing anyone did all night, MOM by a mile if he didn't play like he did that team performance would have people saying it was a disgrace/clueless and devoid of all ideas instead of some of the divided opinions were having,

Not the best of games, again.
Luckily John Heitings managed to equalize with a well placed shot.
Mikel Arteta's injury was a downer, just come into form, after months of nothingness, and now this..
Despite all this, another chance missed.
