Title: Wolves vs Everton
Post by: the doc on April 06, 2011, 06:24:59 AM
not been posted yet, think it will be a tough game, but I'll go for a 2-1 for us, Osman again and another pen for Baines!

hoping for a clean sheet this week.  2-0  osman & distin (Gueye dead ball).  Will be only the second game this year i won't be up trying to watch.  game is 6:45 am here and will be attending a bachelor party the night before.  Good luck blues but i'll still be passed out.

They've been doing well, so it won't be easy. I'd still be confident of winning, but I wouldn't expect us to hammer them.

2-1.

2-0 to wolves, its a hard place to go to  n there fighting for their lives and we have nothing to play for

2-0 to wolves, its a hard place to go to  n there fighting for their lives and we have nothing to play for
this. not due to our team, mainly due to the quality they have and the way they performed against attacking teams this season
Title: Re: Wolves vs Everton
Post by: cantoffee on April 07, 2011, 07:37:36 AM
No wonder our players under-perform, with supporters as cynical as ours I'd be doubting my own ability as well.

1-3

We'll win.

Going for a boring draw just like last time, 0-0
Title: Re: Wolves vs Everton
Post by: American Evertonian on April 07, 2011, 08:41:51 PM
draw written all over it
This. They will score an early goal on us as usual and then we will equalise around the HT mark giving us false hope of a win and we end 1-1.
Title: Re: Wolves vs Everton
Post by: blueToffee on April 08, 2011, 02:34:18 AM
They'll be going for the win given their position so it might give us more opportunity than normal as we usually play better against teams that try to come forward.

I've given up predicting our form though this season. If we can play to our ability then we have a good chance.

We're playing as a weakened team with lots of kids and players playing out of position and nothing to play for.

We'll win 5-0.

Hibbert                         Jags                         distin               baines

Coleman                        johnny                        P.Neville                 maggy

Thats what i would go for today, billy would do a good job in a more central role, think he would score and make thinks happen with this clever passing and shooting ability

EFC XI to face Wolves: Howard, Hibbert, Baines, Distin, Jagielka, Gueye, Heitinga, Osman, Neville, Bilyaletdinov, Beckford.

SUBS: Mucha, Vellios, Anichebe, Mustafi, McAleny, Forshaw, Nsiala.

fucking gueye! :D

Quite pleased with that line up and it'll be interesting to see if it's Osman or Gueye who plays up top with Beckford. Only thing I would have liked to see different was Vellios or Anichebe in for Heitinga but can understand Moyes deeming them not ready or fit enough to start.

------------------------------Howard------------------------------
Hibbert---------Jagielka----------Distin-----------Baines
--------------------Heitinga----------Neville-----------------
---Gueye-------------------Osman-----------Bilya----------
--------------------------------Beckford------------------------

Still would have liked to have seen Vellios start as Beckford struggles on his own, especially against oposition like today. Still nice to see Gueye get his chance though.

Terrible from everyone until we baged our first goal. Couldn't string any passes together and looked like we were on the ropes. Thankfully we rode out the initial storm and have gone from strength to strength.

Don't think Wolves deserve to be 3-0 down though, and we'll have to be wary of complacency. If Wolves get a goal back then, knowing us, we'll sit deeper and deeper and just cling onto victory. I think we need a fourth to completely knock the stuffing out of them.

Expecting to see Anichebe come on for Gueye at some point too. It wouldn't be the change I'd make but if I know Moyes like I think I do...

Just watching the replays of the goals and Heitinga does a great job for Neville's goal - intentionally blocking off the defender who would be attempting to close down and block.

Excellent from us there once we got going. Osman amongst the best on the park once again and Bily building on last week with another brilliant performance.

Interesting that we're playing a similar sort of formation to the one we used to beat Man U last year and that Wolves can't cope with the movement of the front 4.

Really think we look most dangerous with Bily, Gueye and Osman all interchanging. If they carry on like this in our remaining games I'd be happy for us to keep a similar lineup even when the likes of Saha and Cahill are fit.

That's only if we carry on like this for the second half and the rest of the season though.

Also though Gueye has been quiet he's still done a lot well and is making some great runs, very promising.

Agree for the most part, but Gueye has also shown why Moyes has been reluctant to start him, occasionally not picking up his man and giving the ball away cheaply in possession a couple times (once in a compromising position). Still done well offensively and since the team has settled so has he.

Well yeah but that's to be expected, my main point is that this formation seems to give us the most attacking intent whenever utilised and that Bily, Osman and Gueye look like the sort of players could make it work. Even seems to suit Beckford as well when we're not lumping it up to him.

3 goals has sure blinded us from our average performance. We could have been 2 down before we even scored. Osman doing well , but not that much difference to his usual. Commands more in arteta's absence.  Beckford playing well and Bilyaletdinov's strike just outstanding.

A lot of movement, and Wolves don't know how to deal with it, let's hope we're up for it in the second half and we keep it going.

Don't talk shite lad.  The lad has all the attributes, pace, power, strength.  Everything but a footballing brain coupled with a bad attitude.  If he got on with the game, instead of going down like a 10 bob prozzie and moaning to the ref everytime someone goes near him, he might get a bit more backing from our fans.

I know I would rather see a limited but committed footballer in our side, than a moaning, diving, lump of lard with an attitude problem.

Funny thing, me sitting in the Billy Wright stand surrounded by pissed off Yam Yams it looked like Hibbert from where I was when Neville scored and I stands up and yells 'HIBBBEERRRTT!!!' completely blowing my cover and getting told to 'sit down yow Scouse cunt'.  Nearly got slapped for Hibbert's first goal and it weren't even him!!

I'm really looking forward to todays match, something about it, maybe it's the weather, but I can see this being the catalyst for a great end to the season.

I hope this may be one of the most sensible things I've said all year.   :hail: Everton!   :hail:

bily. Neville's was a fantastic strike too, top performance from the captain as well. I'm on 84 minutes. Velios looks pretty quick as well as being big etc.

And that's why Bily should be given more game time.

Maybe it might be a good thing this side of Beckford is coming out.

At leeds when he was banging them in he had his ego.  Some players need there ego to be at there best.
