Title: Chelsea V Everton
Post by: Sir Stealth on October 10, 2011, 12:31:30 PM
Quite fancy us to get something out of this one, I'm going for a 1-1 draw

                  Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Distin Baines

Coleman Fellaini Rodwell Osman
                     Cahill
                     Saha

This is how I think we will line up, though perhaps Drenthe will come in for Coleman as he has looked off the pace recently. Osman has too but I don't think we will see him dropped unless injured.

Don't think we will see drenthe starting till after this run of tough games. Osman looks like he's been pushed out left which is not his best possition.

I think your spot on with what he will start with for Chelsea. Moyes likes his trusted players for these big games.

I however can only see a 2 0 defeat. I really am worried as to where our goals are going to come from

I agree with your line-up and prediction.

Coleman should play from the start, he always looks class against Ashley Cole. (Strangely he has more problems with Clichy).

I can see Moyes giving anothe man-marking job to Rodwell on Mata who IMO has been one player whos made a big difference to Chelsea this season . If he can keep him quiet then we'll get something from this game

He needs to play Drenthe, something a little less predictable than we have been. Chelsea are not as greatr as they have been, so we need to hold no fear.

Jagielka talking about the game saying our aim is a clean sheet - in other words. we are going their for a draw (just like city).

we will get destroyed 5-0 at least.

with moyes, there is no attacking ambition.

norwich had ago at them and showed they can be got at., if norwich had our quality they might have got a result.
moyes wont have ago and will be happy with a damage limitation exercise
and we will be playing 4-5-1 (if you didnt already know).

I think drenthe is to much of a worry defensively to start the big away games yet. Impact sub until these tough games are over. I do expect him to get a good run after the utd game tho.

I can't see anything other than a defeat unfortunately. Fulham will be a important 3 points. Can't wait for this run of games to be over tbh.

If the rumours are true and Osman and Rodewell are both injured then I would imagine Neville will come in for Rodwell and Bily for Osman

Would have preffered Velios for Rodwell with Cahill dropping into midfield but hey ho

FFS can't see us losing 5 nil - are you all evertonians??? That said it will be a tough one will be fortunate to get a draw;

actually think if we went 442 with vellios and/or drenthe as the other attacking option we could really give them a go as their defence isnt the best and their pace will open the game for saha who has been very strong against chelsea in games past. that said I expect moyes to go 4-5-1 with saha up top struggling to have an impact - hopefully we can nick a draw off a set piece or something

If Louis and Cahill both start then it can hardly be described as an ultra defensive formation , we can still defend well but have an option to keep the ball up front . I really do hope Neville doesn't start though . Jack Rodwell looks like he's getting back to his best and it'd be a pity if he's not fit enough to play , he'd be the ideal player to keep Mata quiet . Not too oncerned about Ossie , he's not been as good this season as he was at the end of last , I'd like to see Drenthe start if he misses this one .

Why was it Coleman's fault?

I'm more concerned about Jags/Hibbert.

We were always going to concede though, perhaps it'll bring out more attacking subs rather than Neville. Or maybe I'm being way too optimistic.

Two words: So predictable.

We're just hoping that the likes of Osman, Coleman and Saha can produce a bit of magic from a knockdown. This game is crying out for a Barkley or Vellios just so we're a little less predictable. So frustrating to watch again.

whats more worrying is the post game interview..." we gots no money, what do you expect" from the usual suspects....eg. David Moyes, We have fresh young Players yet they wont get real game time. I just dont get it. So we loose today, Im none too worried YET, but why oh why throw on the usual suspects, We all know how its going to end...

Fucks sake.  A couple of years ago that would have been a really decent half as we were so solid at the back.  These days we're so fragile in our own box that we're liable to basically give the opposition a couple of goals for nothing.  So frustrating.

Drenthe on definitely, Vellios probably should come on too.

Game not over at 2-0. Few subs needed, I think. Team needs a bit of energy and something to get us going. It's depressing and boring stuff out there just now.

It feels like a "routine" Chelsea victory. I don't want us to be participating in predictable wins away form home to teams like Chelsea. At least have a go.

Two shocking goals to concede. The only thing that makes it worse that Chelsea have been so poor. I wouldn't say the game is dead as we've had plenty of it, but it needs a change in the final third - Vellios on for Cahill/Saha and Drenthe for Osman would be my choice. Saha's played well in the sense of holding the ball up, but as others have said has done nothing to bring the rest of the team in afterward.

Also while it isn't just his fault I do think we've been hopeless since Saha came back into the team. Cahill at least holds the ball up.

The midfield pairing of Fellaini and Rodwell is fine as long as we have three creative, quick, attacking midfielders all in the right positions. Unfortunately Cahill at ACM and Osman on the left don't give us the balance there.

Agree with Derek. We've done what we do at Old Trafford and gifted them this.

Get off Saha's back, He were'nt  the worst performer, he needs, we need another striker up front with him.
As with Fellaini, hes a great holding midfielder, he just doesnt have anyone around him to give the ball too who can create things.

Moyes needs to seriously sit down and think about his team selection.

People have been saying that for the last 9 years, not sure that will change

Need to seriously think about changing things up. Coleman isn't good enough to be starting and Osman shouldn't be on the wing. Cahill needs to drop out in order to provide Saha with a partner. Heitinga has to come in at centre half as we're leaking goals. This team isn't working so things have to change.

saha had 5 in 6 vs cheslea,

so there is a reason why he started lads,

You don't play players based on what they did last season.

Fucking awful again.  Give Heitinga a go in defence, can't be any worse, and deserves a go now.  Get Vellios on up front with A.N.Other, Drenthe on the left, Barkley in there too.

Would rather watch us get raped 3-0 with hungry players that want to play, instead of playing for a 0-0 watching the same old shite from Moyes' favourites, and ending up conceding 3 or 4 anyway.

I am one of Fellaini's biggest fans, but thought he was a disgrace today, attitude was shocking.  No chance in this world he is gonna sign a new contract, and looks like he's had enough and on his way out.

I watched a different game, he was the best of a bad lot imo.  Won pretty much all his balls and retained possession.  Rodwell was poor alongside him.

Thought he was OK for the first 20 minutes or so then pisspoor after that.  Rodwell was the pre Man City Rodwell again, totally anonymous plodding along passing sideways, and not a lot else.  Seemed scared to challenge again after the Derby debacle.

Rodwell has about 1 good game in 20. I don't know how many chances he needs to show he isn't the answer to our CM problems. Maybe just deploy him of someone needs man marking. I don't understand why certain players are played time and again. Barkley started really brightly this season, had one iffy game and he is playing reserve team football.

Also Jags...he is just a liability at the moment. If Heitinga is fit I don't understand what he has to do to play? Do we only drop players when injured?

Finally, Saha is just pointless up top on his own.

Getting twatted and he takes Cahill off and brings Neville on.FFS. Ideal chance to play Bily where he should be played

Poor match, and especially poor defending.
Baines was not at his post twice, and the Fellaini marking of Terry looked like a joke.
And toothless up-front, funny how it took two substitutes to score the goal.

Maybe things should be turned around as others have suggested, as this was the poorest display against the trio of top-clubs we have just played.
