Post by: DJ1994 on April 08, 2012, 05:54:29 PM
so 2 matchesin quick succession....what do you think the score and line up will be?

.......................Howard .........................

...Neville........Heitinga... .Jagielka.......Baines..

Coleman.....Gibson....Rodwell .........Pienaar....

...................Osman..... .......................

..............Stracqualursi.. ......................

time to give our big players a rest, heitinga may be a bit rusty so he should be a must...rodwell and coleman to start if fit and have first half bring on cahill, gueye jelavic drenthe or fellaini if needs must

Drenthe & Rodwell, if back, will start. Players rested yesterday should come back in. Baines, Distin, Gibson, Cahill & Jelavic to drop to bench.

Presuming Osman is carrying a knock as rumoured.

Howard
Hibbert  Jagielka Heitinga Neville
Fellaini Rodwell
Coleman Pienaar Drenthe
Anichebe

Why are they kicking off at 3pm? Thought this would be a night game seeing as it's played on a week day. Am going to miss it as I'll be at college.

The amnesty has passed now, so it doesn't matter if he gets another booking.  We just can't afford anyone getting a red card.

Moyes will rest as many as he can I'd imagine.

So probably the more disappointing players from the last game will be back. It's a shame we don't have any squad depth as we could be drop down a few places if we lose.

I really home that clown Cattermole is nowhere near the pitch tomorrow,as he is more than capable of kicking shit out of us and winding Fellaini up.The starting line-up could be

Howard
Neville
Baines
Distin
Heitinger

Drenthe
Gibson
Rodwell
Pienaar

Osman
Jelavic

A scrapy 1-1 draw with Wembley on a few players minds.

Tough to predict the team for this one, but I'll give it a try anyway

                   Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines

Coleman Gibson Fellaini Pienaar

            Anichebe Jelavic

2-1 hard fought win.  Jelavic and Gibson with the goals.  Please no new injuries or suspensions as a result of this one

Why was Gueye subbed at the half was he that bad or did he get a knock?

                  Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines

Coleman Gibson Rodwell Pienaar

He wasn't great, but it is tough to look good when Hibbo is playing behind you and in charge of your distribution.
Title: Re: Everton vs Sunderland
Post by: the roy vernon plan on April 09, 2012, 10:48:34 AM
Gueye was playing out of position on the right wing for the most part and was tidy without really imposing himself.

And yes he had the handicap of playing in front of the Club Record Holder.

This. He may trot out the likes of Baxter—or even bring back VDM and Segundo for this one. Other than staying ahead of the Shite, which I'm not so sure Moyes much cares about, this is a pretty meaningless game now that Newcastle are all but out of reach.
Carlo Nash
Seamus-Jags-Duffy-Nuno (on roller skates)
Brandon Donovan-Segundo-Rodwell-Bilya (one a one-game loan back)
Baxter-Hibbo

Barring some controversy or horrific injury or Hibbo bagging a brace, I could see this being one of the shortest league game threads ever.

Would rest our important players but tempted give Heitinga a run out and maybe take him off.

Howard
Hibbert
Jags
Heitinga
Neville
Gueye/Coleman (half each)
Rodwell
Gibson
Pienaar
Osman (if fit)
Straq

He wasn't great, but it is tough to look good when Hibbo is playing behind you and in charge of your distribution.

Also hard to look good with Gueye in front of you and responsible for tracking back to help out. Bad game for both.
Title: Re: Everton vs Sunderland

I would play

Hahnemann

Hibbert Duffy Jagielka coleman
gueye pienaar baxter anichebe
vellios straq

Its a very attacking team, but we are at home so why not.

there is no point in risking any of the starting 11 on saturday, especially for a sending off.

imagine bendtner is cleaqn through and howard brings him down?
or heitinga as last man brings him down?
of fellaini does one of his 'akward' tackles'?

Its not worth the risk

                                    Howard

Hibbert                Jags                Jonny               Neville

Coleman             Ossie               Rodwell            Drenthe

                                     Pienaar

                                       Vic

Rest our main boys yela, felli, bainsy, distin, cahill, gibbo, take jonny off early 2nd half
Gutted Pienaar can't play against the shite

I doubt Moyes is going to start wrapping everyone in cotton wool.
The team will be the main squad with someone dropped to accomodate his
lordship Jagielka.
The reason being that the formula has just started to work and to overly tinker with
it would mess things up.
Players must just act cool, we need to win! Keep our place above the red half to stack pressure on them
to perform next weekend.

With a full squad id say 2-0 to us.

Positives: Baines gets a much deserved game off and if the current CB rotation continues we will see Heitinga and Distin in the semifinal.

Definitely would like to see Anichebe and Royston on at the half for McFadden and maybe Straq. Tell them if they are responsible for a game winner then they will play Saturday. Need to do something to inspire this side.

That would be blatant lies though!

It's a dull arse game.  Sunderland are shit.  Drenthe should be able to destroy these if he's in the mood.

Not a lie but more just being vague. I didn't say start but "play." They can think I am implying starting if it helps us win, but if it were up to me both would be subs on Saturday.

Me having him subbed off for Drenthe or Anichebe isn't hate for McFadden. I agree he has been playing relatively well, but I just think we need a change to score/win. Sunderland look like they are playing for a draw and we need some added creativity to help break them down. The quick combo passes b/w Pienaar, Osman, Royston, and Felli would be terror for Sunderland.

I don't hate him, it's a nothing game anyway, but apart from his shot he was dreadful. Turning into blind alleys, miscontrolling the ball and generally giving possession away. A few nice touches are all well, but the end result is always the same: we concede possession.

One goal could win this. Definitely bring on Drenthe to liven things up and add some pace/directness.

Anichebe should get a chance too. Wouldn't be surprised if Moyes used Distin at some point though.

I'm watching it online cos im down south at the birds mothers but he's slow and looks to take the FB on but he hasn't got the pace. Tbh, with the changes we've made, we haven't done bad but need to step it up and maybe bringing Drenthe on might do that?. Need is pace and unpredictability this half i think.

This game's there for the taking. I thought we'd be fighting to maintain a draw but with a bit of pace and some more ideas up front we could have this 3 or 4 nil. As has been said a win here is good for confidence and it's very frustrating to see us potentially squander what could be West Brom sort of win.

t2487 - I completely understand the nerves but we have to play either Felli or Gibbo in the middle as they can give us some sort of consistency in the middle. No why Moyes picked one over the other is beyond me, but I feel fairly certain both probably would have liked to play.

Probably will see

Gueye-------Felli-----Gibson-------Osman

                   Jela

I'd like to see

Gueye -----Felli----Gibson----Drenthe

What a difference first to second half.  Looked like an exhibition game, and a dull one at that first half.  Second half the boys remembered who they were playing for.

Feel sorry for Sunderland, we've spanked them twice in a fortnight, and I honestly believe they are a better team than they have shown in those 2 games, they looked like boys playing against men.

Desperately disappointed Hibbert didn't score a final 5th after a backheel flick from Neville though, a surreal a moment that would have been quite fitting today.

Great result ahead of the weekend!. Made changes, brought off players at right times during game, no injuries or bookings and a 4 nil win, top stuff!.

Apart from that one lapse in the second half where Heitinga let it go across him in the 6 yard box instead of dealing with it, how solid do we look at the back when he's in there compared to the Distin, Jags pairing?!.

Got to be Heitinga and one of Jags and Distin for the semi IMO, we just look more solid with Johnny in the side at the mo!.

Hopefully the shite lose there game this week to ruin there confidence even more, although in derbies form goes out of the window but after that result, and keeping players fresh, and the fact we'll want to put the Analfield derby right, we should be confident of getting the right result!.

Well to be fair it is great for the media to have a race for CL spots. I know that it was a big win for us, but the media wants to make more money and a CL race will do just that. Turns out the race for 7th isn't as appealing, especially when there isn't a Europa spot on the line.

On a brighter note I'm starting to have a little hope that we can push for 6th if we keep our results going. Chels are 9 points ahead but still have to face Fulham, Arsenal, Newcastle, and L'Pool. Plenty of points to be dropped from those. Granted we have a few tough ones left too, but with the way we have been playing I won't rule anything out yet.

(Note: I realize if Chelsea wins today then we will realistically be out of it so need Fulham to win today)
