Title: Man U v Bayern
Post by: cantoffee on March 31, 2010, 01:49:35 AM
Well that was fast, I thought Bayern would beat them but with marking like they'll be destroyed.

Shit! I missed the opener! What happened?

Can't believe how simple the goals that Rooney's been scoring in the CL have been.

I fancied Bayern tonight (more so if Robben had been playing), but after that start......

Shit! I missed the opener! What happened?

Free kick out on the right, hit in by Nani, Demichelis slips marking Rooney and Rooney has a simple finish from 4 yards. Not the best start, if Bayern can settled I still think they can win but they have to shut Man U out from here on or they're fucked.

Bayern have settled a bit now and are creating some openings.

Oh geez, one would expect better of a CL quarter final ffs....

Bayern are starting to look good, United dallying on the ball a bit at times instead of clearing it. It's just too bad Bayern can't seem to cross.

Yeah, Lahm's been a great outlet on the right for them but his final ball has been poor so far.

Nani close there for Utd though, looking like an open game at least.

Bayern looking good now, should've scored at least once though, Altintop over the top with poor control and the other striker completely missing the ball. You're right though it's very open and United could still score, Rooney can outpace their defense quite easily.

Bayern are pasting them. Fucking hate the cunts, luckiest team ever!!!

CAn't believe Olic missed his chance, would have put money on him scoring.

Altintop's wasn't so clear cut, but he still should have got a shot away if his first touch had been better.

I'd be surprised if there weren't any more goals in this anyway.

Lyon V Bordeaux is much better.

Bayern have been terribly wasteful

Lyon V Bordeaux is much better.

I knew I should've switched over after the 15th minute!

So why isn't Robben playing? Suspended?

Injured, picked up a calf strain at the weekend.

Wow that pass from the Lahm to Ribery may have been the best pass I've ever seen.

Lyon V Bordeaux is much better.

how would you know this though?

i presume you're watching the lyon game so that would then in turn mean you have not been watching the bayern v man u game. so wouldn't know how good that game is.

it's been a fantastically open game of football and i for one wont be turning it off.

Finally a bit of luck for Bayern, well deserved though to be fair.

Deserved.  Bayern certainly outperformed Utd all game.

Yeah, Utd can have no complaints about that result.

How cool was Olic's finish?  That goal summed him up really, hard work and a bit of quality to go with it.

Rooney done his metatarsal there?
Title: Re: Man U v Bayern
Post by: Risky on March 31, 2010, 03:41:18 AM
Rooney's reaction suggested it was the metatarsal again with the way he immediately signalled to the bench.

I only saw the second half, and was amazed how much Bayern dominated.
2-1 isn't a disaster, but next week Bayern will have Schweinsteiger back and could have Robben back, whereas Rooney looks to have damaged his foot.  Be interesting to see what happens to United tittle challenge if hes out for any stretch of time.

ivica ollic is a fucking superb player.

van gaal is finally getting the best out of the talent thats been at the club in the last 5 years.

ask me if i give a fuck about rooney's foot. anything that pisses fire engine face off is ok with me.

Rooney done his metatarsal there?

Looks like a twist of the ankle. Could still be a bad one.

Well deserved for Bayern.

Replays showed Rooney's hurt his ankle not his metatarsal, which is hopeful.

rather it was completely severed to be honest....

Haha, Redknapp's diagnosed the injury and the length of time out after viewing the super slo-mo.

Also whilst I'm slating Sky, did anyone else get wound up by the way that Gray and Tyler were laughing and applauding Neville's "professionalism" when he took a dive in his own area?  Would have been a different matter if it had been a cheating foreigner....

Ferguson has said that Rooney got a kick on the ankle, but isn't sure how serious it is. He'll be out for a few weeks at the least then.

Great win for Bayern and thoroughly deserved. They were by far the better team and I love Ivica Olic- he's one of my favourite players and tonight again he delivered. Great finish under pressure!

Great game to watch as well.

I think England will take a broken meta tarsal right now. means 6 weeks off and then rested and refreshed for the world cup.

Loved the Vidic and Ferdinand comedy capers when Bayern scored the 2nd!  Man U are so lucky, just hope Bayern dont blow it at Old Trafford.

Can't see United losing at Old trafford. I do not think Bayern are that good collectively. Have good players but United wil be too good at home.

i think its a little more serious, some sort of injury that will leave him out right up until the end of the USA v England match.

Bayern should employ Nani as a groundsman - he spent more time down on the floor staring at and rolling on the grass that your average gardener.

Very entertaining match.
Never would I have thought it possible for me to cheer Bayern on, but I hate manure even more.
Though Bayern have made Mark van Bommel captain, and that's saying something about the changed times in Bavaria, though a lot has to do with Louis van Gaal.

2-1 leaves the tie open. (and I agree Olic is a great player)
Will Arjen Robben (who really is in the form of his life) recover from his slight injury, and how severe is Rooney's?
These two things may decide the tie.

If Rooney is out for a while, this means Utd will struggle in the league a bit.

They showed it on the news this morning and he just seemed to pull up - like Beckham or Heriedesen (not sure how you spell the Pompy player's name) did.  If it was that it could be his (and England) achilles.
or he might have sprained his ankle and be out for 4 weeks
