Sigurdsson probably needs a break. The man hasn't quit running since Croatia. He does run a lot that lad.....
The back two of Williams and Holgate has worked the best since Sam's been in charge. Crazy the way he changed it in games he didn't have to.
I don't like that front three.
Pickford
Kenny Holgate Williams Martina
Gana Rooney
Sig
Lennon DCL Vlasic
I've got no chance of this team happening, but we can but wish.
Young banned for 3 gamesShame it's always good to see Ash.
Going to be an absolute snore this isn't it?The Battle of the buses.
I honestly can’t think of a team to put out that could trouble these, even with their issues. Niasse up front due to DCL being dead is the only obvious one.Are you really a blue ? If you are hang your head in shame ! By all means slag of the management but not someone putting a shirt on and we have not yet kicked off.
I’d be tempted to play Lookman, Klassen and Sandro so they can make cunts of themselves and the fans can go ‘ahhhh, so thaaaat’s why they’re not in the team’.

If we have 4 shots or more on target, I don't care what the result is.Fuck me, is that you Sam ?.
Mourihnio meltdown about 7.30..we must live in hope.Would really love nothing more to welcome in the new year .😅👍

I’d be tempted to play Lookman, Klaassen and Sandro in this one because they're well rested and at some point their quality has to show. Lookman has looked good at times as he was being phased in gradually. It's unfortunate that we have also been trying to phase in Klaassen, Sandro, Keane, Sigurdsson and Vlasic at the same time. It's just not easy to phase this many players in to get up to speed in the Premier League and it's even harder when the team they're being phased into are playing absolutely shit.
Regardless - they all have my 100% support and I hope they do well.
Palace and Brighton showing that with real wide attackers you can create chances and hold your own in games.
Vlasic, man.
He has impressed me every time, with his endeavor, strength, ball retention, and attacking intent.
However, neither Unsworth or Allardyce have seemed to trust him so I guess I'm wrong.
In the Europa dead rubber him and Lookman ran the show from the wings (yeah, I know it was a bit of a friendly match in essence, but surely we've got to start trying to take the game to the opposition rather than defending deep and en masse and hoping for the best)
Palace and Brighton showing that with real wide attackers you can create chances and hold your own in games.Said before that apparently he’s fallen out with the club. Not the manager, the club. Agent wanted talks with the club hierarchy when Unsworth first dropped him. It was all ‘my client could’ve joined Inter Milan, and he’s not even getting into a struggling team, we’ll assess the situation in the summer’. Didn’t go down well. Could (and probably is) just a rumour though.

I don't think its as simple as being right or wrong on Vlasic. I rate him too, certainly over Lennon. He has lost critical possession when I've seen him too. Maybe that's the issue. Or maybe there are non-football reasons that we don't know about. I think a lot of fans just watch a handful of games and concoct formations and line ups based upon what is a tiny part of the picture. But even that doesn't make anybody wrong. I do think that you have to trust the judgement of people who know the entire picture though. It doesn't happen much on here. The usual routine is to slag off whoever the manager is and ask questions later. Happened with Koeman, Unsworth and now Allardyce.Agree. I try to give managers (and players) a bit of slack as there are always other factors we’re not aware of.

Really?Twitter, where else. Ped from ToffeeTV did mention it a few times a while ago.
Where did this come from?
Really?
Where did this come from?
i think this came from his sister on twitter and from the press around the time Unsworth was manager and wasn't being picked.
What did his sister say?
She hot? 🤔
Shes electrifying.. her name is Blanka... :) Blanka Vlasic..

Back to the game; can I set expectations by saying we’re almost certainly going to play shit and there’ll be no fringe players who come in and tear it up. Thanks.
I prefer the stretch marks.
And I prefer Hendrix.
Yay!!Glad to be of service
Less than eleven hours into 2018 and we have our first "you're a shit blue" shout on a match day thread

Rumours of
Pickford
Kenny Holgate Jagielka Williams Martina
Davies Gueye Schneiderlin
Rooney Mirallas
No Gueye in the squad? Injured again?
Kenny on the bench is interesting.
Their shit back 4 against our shit front 4. Should be a laugh
Bolasie starting his second game in a week after such a long lay off is very dicey.
Seems like we're going for it from the off and hoping to score in the first half.
If we manage it I can see him trying to shut it down in the second half.
Not sure Sig deserved to be dropped, I'd have him in the middle over either of those DMs
Get in Burnley !

Obv Gueye is injured, but Big Sam is tinkering a bit here. Happy to see Vlasic and Bolasie.Played his first game in months 48hrs ago
I'd rather go with McCarthy as DM than Schneiderlin though. :wag:
She's not even nice
It’s the type of post made by a serial killer.

I would like to see a bit more of Vlasic before I decide to go overboard on his inclusion .
Nobody on here thinks he is a world beater, mate, but most recognise his promise
Streams please people
What I said I think . I feel the same about Lookman .
Decent start. Though I'm already thinking Were missing Sig on all these set piecesA player that covers as much ground as he does can’t play 2 games so close together. It’d be bordering on negligent. Imagine the fume if he got injured.
This is the best 20 minutes with the ball since Allardyce arrived. Much better. We have better players than we've been showing.Clever from Sam that.
This is the best 20 minutes with the ball since Allardyce arrived. Much better. We have better players than we've been showing. We’ve played well but it’s been neat and tidy rather than incisive. We still need more quality but agree, we are better than the last couple of outings suggest.
:( streeeaaaaaam??

Niasse has caused us major problems twice by stupidly giving the ball away. Sort your head out.
Niasse has caused us major problems twice by stupidly giving the ball away. Sort your head out.His decision making and awareness so far is unspectacular.....
Pogba's long balls are amazing
Niasse has caused us major problems twice by stupidly giving the ball away. Sort your head out.
Can’t say you’re surprised at his limitations is he? We all know he’s crap with the ball
Not surprised no. But he needs to do better.
Michael Keane is terrible
Why is Niasse constantly pulling outwide?
Niasse lad. I know he's bagged a few and he's enthusiastic but his inability to do basic things is ridiculous. Must do players' heads in. Get DCL on.
Instructions?Awareness?

That's fair enough but at the same time he made our best chance.
Watch our threat dissipate when DCL comes on.
As good as Davies has been in the first half, I'd like to see Sig come on in place of him.
Niasse over DCL for me any day.
I like DCL but he's not a threat at all.
Niasse has clearly been told to pull outwide for some reason. He should be out of the game playing off the shoulder of the centre half.
Niasse lad. I know he's bagged a few and he's enthusiastic but his inability to do basic things is ridiculous. Must do players' heads in. Get DCL on.
Not sure why you would take Davies off, he's the only one of the midfield with the mobility to carry the ball forward and he's done it well.
We'll probably see Sig on for Bolasie out of necessity as there's no way Bolasie has 90 in him.
DCL needs to come on for Niasse, he might not have the same goal threat but attacks are just breaking down when they reach Niasse
This is easily the best we've played in midfield for ages. DCL has had no service at all. He's probably thinking 'where was this when I was running myself silly every game?'
Henry having a mare there
Or maybe DCL was part of the problem..?
I always mute him and Veneer-Face Souness.
What did the cringey company man say?
Maybe but the striker is the position most dependent on the rest of the team. Can't do anything if you don't get the ball.
No vision, poor passing in the final third. A left back with no ability to put a cross in without cutting back on to his right... so easy to manage against. Just a matter of time before we concede.
What happened? We are well 2nd best here now
Vlasic not doing well tracking back there. Wouldn't be surprised to see Lennon before long if that keeps up.
He tracked back well against Martial a few minutes earlier, so he's capable of it when he wants to."This is probably why him and Lookman don’t get more game time. Can’t have Luxury players in this league.
Fuck was said at half time.Jose told them to speed up their passing...
Fuck was said at half time.
Fuck was said at half time.
We don’t look happy right now, need to make some changes...actually I take that back, McCarthy is coming on?
Sam Allardyce lads
Sam Allardyce ladsIt’s like he is trying to provoke the fans on purpose just to show who is in charge.
Fitness, lads. Subs are 100% due to fitness. Think before you post.
Schnierderlin is a passenger
It's like he is trying to provoke the fans on purpose just to show who is in charge.
It's a tricky situation to manage with the current squad.
Rooney can't play every minute and his fitness needs to be managed but he's the only midfielder we have who's remotely incisive with his passing and we're crap without him on the pitch.
It's like he is trying to provoke the fans on purpose just to show who is in charge. It’s like Bolasie has been out a year and Rooney has had flu and a chest infection and we played 2 days ago...
Don't have a go at Allardyce lads, the agenda police will kick offMore possession perhaps?
No attempts on target!!
United stepped it up and their quality is a different level.
Great tackle, McCarthy.
Pogba is a grade A melt.
Spot on.Haha cry baby
Got to save these players so they chase shadows at Anfield on Friday.
Haha cry baby
Even taking into account his struggles, is there any reason for Davy Klaassen not to be ahead of McCarthy in this situation?
ApologistRealist.
It’s like Bolasie has been out a year and Rooney has had flu and a chest infection and we played 2 days ago...If we only had any other options on the bench. Like that Icelandic fella Sigurdsson at Swansea....
Melt is a word that should be used more often
McCarthy has helped us get a foothold on this game. Great sub from Allerdyce.
can't moan todayOther than their keeper has had fuck all to do?
Fair play I didn't like the subs at all but we do look better for it
Shots on target
0-2 defeat but win because we played well for 10 minutes for the Allardyce fans.
McCarthy been fantastic since he came on, if can stay clear of injures from now he’ll be a massive asset.A fit McCarthy over Morgan any day of the week. Morgan only looks good in slow games as soon as the pace picks up he's a passenger.
Other than their keeper has had fuck all to do?we've competed most of the game against world class players, with our limits what more could be asked..
Pogba is a proper over rated twatNah, by far the best player on the pitch. A complete midfielder in every respect.
Complete melt in real life too
I'm no Allardyce fan but I don't mind at all how we've approached this today. Lack of quality in the final third has cost us but it's an improvement going forward. There's a bad case of minds made up going on with him.
Better than parking the bus. Just beaten by the better team.
0-2 defeat but win because we played well for 10 minutes for the Allardyce fans.Everything alright at home, son?

Players fault.Agree, 85% players fault
How are they meant to get shots on target against Bournemouth and West Brom or in matches at Goodison Park?
Edit: Bit unlucky today tbf

So we gave it a decent go today and abandoned the ultra defensive approach we took against Liverpool and Chelsea that some cunts were moaning like fuck at, we get beat despite a fairly decent performance, said cunts are now moaning we got beat today by 2nd in the league.
Standard NSNO stuff.
we've competed most of the game against world class players, with our limits what more could be asked..We really haven't. We've offered zero threat, and a weakened United team have comfortably won this without having to get out of 2nd gear.
It's more than a lack of quality up front it is a lack of presence. We can't even try and hit a front man to get us up the pitch. This team would be in deeper shit with a less experienced manager in charge.Still plenty on here that think this is a good squad and even Gary Megson would get us 7th. Poor souls.

Apparently these players aren't good enough... weird how they managed to produce goals under Unsworth...
If only we were as good as Bristol CityCry baby

Stop acting like a retarded child.
By that reasoning every team in the fucking league should beat United in every game.
We showed a bit of fight for about 10mins thats all
Apparently these players aren't good enough... weird how they managed to produce goals under Unsworth...perhaps because they conceded 20 goals in 8 games... You miss Martinez ?
Ironic that the first goal went in after a counter-attack
Mad how black and white people's opinions on Everton under Allardyce are.

You're off your head. Posting proper mad shit all the time, I honestly can't figure out if you're serious or not. What, loads of people do think we should easily be 7th...
Everything alright at home, son?
What, loads of people do think we should easily be 7th...
Its not his team though etc...
Four goals in last five matches and two of them came as a result of penalties.
Even under Unsy though we struggled from open play:
Watford was Niasse charging down the keeper; DCL from a corner; and a lucky pen.
Palace was a lucky pen; and knicking the ball back from a mistake.
Southampton was Sigurdsson great goal.
WHam was pen, good goal, wonder goal, Williams from corner.
SA has been:
H’field two decent goals.
Anfield lucky pen
Swansea lucky pen; individual goal; lucky pen
Newcastle decent goal
Bournemouth decent goal.
Well am gonna go home now, lie on my couch with a t-towel on my chest and watch Hustle or Penthouse, crack one or two out, then watch the darts
Fuck you Everton
Did he just say that having no shots on target is "normal" as in 'to be expected'?
Mad how black and white people's opinions on Everton under Allardyce are.
Everyone was quite happy with that line-up and the way we started the game...don't see how we set up for a nil-nil.The front four Would be sound if it wasn't niasse, vlasic, rooney and bolaisie were actually fit.
It's all getting a bit silly round hear. Only Glewis and Kramer make any sense.
Newcastle was a horrendous GK mistake like.
You'll never see Allardyce take accountability for anything mate. Never has, never will.
Allardyce saying he only expects us to score one goal a game at the moment lolol
I think the same can be said of 99% of managers to be honest
Speaking of managers like that, Mark Hughes should be available soon :)
Allardyce saying he only expects us to score one goal a game at the moment lolol
Let’s be honest this is really Moshiri’s mess.
Sacked Martinez, hired Koeman and Walsh, sacked Koeman, hired Allardyce.
His managerial decisions go from bad to worse.
There is a balance between ultra defensive and ultra attack. The sooner the owners of Everton realise this the better. We need someone who is adaptable
hopefully that will shut a lot of people up who wanted Vlasic in the team! He has shown time and again his defensive work isn't up to scratch and they just walked past him numerous times today
Well it’s a collective from since Moyes left.
We’re not better in any position since 12/13.
Pickford probably apart.
In theory CM should be better than Osman and Neville but they’re not playing like it.
At that point we had a settled side with obvious improvements needed in CM and striker.
Pretty wide open now where improvements can be made.
There was certainly a point where we were better than then, but since that we’ve sold all the better players and replaced them poorly with progressively worse recruitment choices.
I’d have thought that’s pretty indisputable.
At end of 12/13 we needed better CMs and striker.
Summer 13 we signed McCarthy and Barry, replaced Fellaini with Barkley and got Lukaku.
Lukaku replaced (and more) Fellaini’s goals and Barkley more suited to RM approach so easy to see why we improved from 6th to 5th.
From then it went rapidly down hill with aging players not replaced (Pienaar first up in summer 14) and others losing form along with the team in general.
Thought he was good.
Just don’t think a total melt down / huge criticism is right, if only from the point of view that it’s not conducting to making us better.
Didn’t think it was worth sacking Koeman to get someone who is solid primarily but he’s been appointed so I think it’s only right to give it a fair shot before mega criticisms.
Pienaar was never replaced that was criminal. Haven't had a left winger since
Thought he was good for the first half.
So are we allowed to question Allardyce now or are all the defence team gonna try justify his appointment, he's been doing the same thing for 30 fucking years and how anyone thinks it's going to change is fucking beyond me, worse than moyes at his most negative today, fucking shitehawk subs, although McCarthy did have a go, and no fucking shots on target again.
Sam Allardyce can go suck a fart out my arse the fucking #FartWrangler

The pro Allardyce wums are quiet tonight arnt they

And the Anti-Allardyce brigade are making plenty of noise without naming any feasible alternatives. The alternative is the manager needs to stop being so fucking negative in his approach ...no?.

We're are Sam's supporters now ? ....all hiding or lining up behind the rest of us now .
His starting squad was the best line up he's put out yet ......then panicked and gave it away come half time ....shithouse tactics again .
Just got home havnt seen his presser was he bemoaning the forwards again ?.
Who in there right mind would wanna join us with him at the healm .
And the Anti-Allardyce brigade are making plenty of noise without naming any feasible alternatives.
The alternative is the manager needs to stop being so fucking negative in his approach ...no?.
We weren't great first half but it was an improvement on the shite at WBA and Bournemouth. ..then Sam waved his magic wand and made the worst fucked up subs yet ...the alternative was right there ...the crowd booed the subs they all knew what was coming .they all saw it and don't get 6 million a year.
The alternative is the manager needs to stop being so fucking negative in his approach ...no?.You must have been at the back of the Park End ? and couldn't see that Bolassie was knackered after his very good effort in the first half and couldn't see that Rooney was running on empty around the same time. Was the rain in your eyes? Unfortunately Utd with far better players than us all over the park turned the screws and the inevitable happened, Not Sam's fault, you clueless dope. You are lucky to read this rebuttal because my hands are still freezing. A terrible night to be out.

And so they should, hes proved how one sided he is over our last few games.
Alternatives, I dont know, maybe a manager who sets up to have a go at teams at home, Moyes at his worst is better than big Sam, never thought id say that
Our squad is piss poor and having a go at teams gets you beat before half time. Early season proved that.
Our squad is piss poor and having a go at teams gets you beat before half time. Early season proved that.
Yes it's piss poor, but we've had far worss squads over the years but have competed and got results at home
You can set out defensive but still have an attacking threat.
You can set out defensive but still have an attacking threat. Not against everybody. And sometimes your threat is so small that it actually weakens you by trying to implement it.
You can set out defensive but still have an attacking threat.
When you start claiming that the crowd know more than the manager you reveal your own naivety; and frankly make an argument with you a waste of time.Ffs were you there did you not get the same feeling from his shit substitute ideas as the rest of the fans thrret ....got to ask ...because you seem really far from reality .

You must have been at the back of the Park End ? and couldn't see that Bolassie was knackered after his very good effort in the first half and couldn't see that Rooney was running on empty around the same time. Was the rain in your eyes? Unfortunately Utd with far better players than us all over the park turned the screws and the inevitable happened, Not Sam's fault, you clueless dope. You are lucky to read this rebuttal because my hands are still freezing. A terrible night to be out.The rain can't get in your eyes of your in the back of the park and you dope 😅😅.but carry on get yourself a hot water bottle and come back when your warmed up bless you..I've been home a while now .
No need to come out in the 2nd half the way we did.No evidence whatever that he is losing the crowd. Where were you tonight to say that? If some clowns booed the sub of Bolassie maybe they were too thick to see he was physically finished after his first half effort? Rooney ditto except maybe Sigurdsson might have been better coming on for him. Finally your clueless statement "Seemed like we set out that second half to contain them at 0-0 and settle for the draw." Don't be stupid. Nobody planned to do that. The players fell back because they could not cope against far better players, like Pogba etc etc who turned the screw. What makes you think that our players none of whom would make it to their bench except the goalie would cope when they started to play well in the second half? They are second for a fucking good reason.
No ones wanting us to open ourselves up and go gung Ho, but you can set out to be compact and also have a threat going forward.
Seemed like we set out that second half to contain them at 0-0 and settle for the draw.
He's already losing the crowd and it won't be long until the pressure starts to really pile on.
"Have a go"? What with Aaron Lennon, Oumar Niasse, a 20 year old who shouldn't be even playing, a mystery spaniard and a player thats just come back from a year out? Oh sorry I forgot all those goals from midfield we were scoring before Allardyce arrived. That was ace. How I yearn for those days back again. And give even less supoort to a defence that was almost the worst in the league before Allardyce arrived. Yeah great idea.

Worth remembering Sam Allardyce took over a team that had just won 4-0.

Do you seriously believe they would have been taken off if fit? I know what it was, you wear anti Allardyce blinkers.
That's your point of reference is it? One game? C'mon.
I'm not going to be abusive here but clearly it's a lot easier if you go ahead first.
#agendahaters gona hate
We had a go with Marcus Bent, we had a go with Straq, fuck we had a go with Steve Watson up front and won games!
Not a single shot on target in our last 2 home games, not one.
David Moyes years.

Do you seriously believe they would have been taken off if fit? I know what it was, you wear anti Allardyce blinkers. If you read any of my posts lately I was and still am still willing to give Sam a window ....but you tell me them subs today were any thing but the totally wrong idea playing straight into man u hands and you must be having a pull of my leg ..if Gylfi Jonjoe etc were not fit or fatigued don't bring them for the bench..it's fucking simple really .
So wtf happened today?
I was out for a meal and missed the game. I was gutted when I saw the lineup because it looked really fresh and attacking up front.
All I can gather from reading on here is we had a very small window where we were competitive (20, 10 r 7 mins, depending on who you believe is most accurate) and we came out the second half like a sack of shit and made poor use of the subs again.
Is that roughly it or is there more?
And did those front players - Vlasic, Rooney and Bolasie behind Niasse - get to create anything at all? Did they make any chances? Any signs of good link-up play or forward passing?
Rooney trying too hard but at 1-0 you leave him on rather than trying to protect the deficit with McCarthy.
Shoutout to me standing at the bus stop for an hour before being told they went off at 6 because it's New Year's Day.
What's the need in having a 5:30pm kick off then?
no shots on target
Davies looping/deflected effort
Bolassie looked lively , but no one really in the box once he put his cross in
Martina got in his way quite alot in build ups down the left
McCarthy put some tackles in- than Morgs did whole game
Niasse flashed a diving header wide at the near post
Holgate no rb
Vlasic had one decent run- spent most of the time getting roasted/defensive not switched on
Worth remembering Sam Allardyce took over a team that had just won 4-0.

Apparently that was his doing.
Very generous of him seeing he’d never trained the players or had an actual contract at the point mind.
Sorry your wrong
He meet the players before the match and gave a talk.
They where playing to impress the new manager something both Rooney and Davies confirmed to Everton tv.
Sorry to put a dent in your agenda

Stop talking shite.
He didn't meet the players, he wasn't even officially announced, he had absolutely no input on the team selection or tactics for that game.
He meet the players , sorry to dissapointed you
Some really nasty agenda again on display
It's a complete myth that our squad is one of the poorest in the league. Sick of reading it.
The people who claim things like that aren't even underrating the players we've got, they're just missing the fact the vast majority of this league is shockingly poor.
Bit of hyperbole there mate.

In fairness to Fraud, his McCarthy sub was decent. Our performance was better today and we did try to get forward. Pogba and Mata were brilliant and the difference. This is what does my head in.I stated in another thread, the position we are in at the moment I truly understand setting up to stifle the better teams, stop them playing and nicking a point or even better a 1-0 win.It was grim to watch the Chelsea and shite games, but at least we picked a point up in each. However, there is absolutely no way we should have treated the west brom and Bournemouth games the same, west brom no wins in 18,bournemouth none in 8.Bournemouth beat us,west brom should have beat us because of the selections and the timidness of our play.We handed them the initiative, and very grateful they were too.I know we are criminally weak up front, but surely he could have played a more attack minded line up and at least given the likes of west brom and Bournemouth something to think about.
But why didn't we at least try to play at West Brom and Bournemouth. The mind boggles.
Simon Coleman ??
Just using it as an example as to why we should be expecting a lot more from this team going forward.
People are trying to tell us we shouldn't even have a go at teams because the attacking players are shit.
I'm saying that you can set up compact, whilst still having a threat going forward, and using an example to show that this team can score goals.

Reporter to Unsworth after the West Ham game " who picked the team tonight?"
Unsworth "Me"
Reporter "Has Sam spoke to any of the players yet"
Unworth "Not as far as I know "
Sams first pres conference
Reporter "Just to clear up any confusion, did you have any involvement in team or tactics for the West Ham game?"
Allardyce "No, Unsy trained team and picked the players and tactics, he kindly let into the changing room after the game so I could congratulate the players "
Not how I remember thay exchange

I agree. Burnley, for example, have attacking players that most would agree are of an inferior standard to us but they consistently pull out decent performances and results against the better teams.
It's all about the intent and instructions you get sent out with.
Not that it really matters but i thought Allardyce said he met the players for 15 mins at FF
I think he said he met Unsworth for 15 minutes during the day of the game, not the players though. But ok
More nonsense. We played some decent football yesterday considering our attacking options. Burnley are hardly free scoring but they have had a stable squad and manager for a few years now whereas Allardyce has probably had time for a handful of training sessions if that. People are moving with this agenda thing but this is a perfect example. I honestly don't know what you expect him to achieve in the time frame he's been here and an utterly bizarre squad.
And to all the boring (apologies in advance) idiots on here who keep posting the same moaning shite day in day out, I never wanted Allardyce either. But we've got him. You lads need some internet bricks. What help does anyone think there is in constantly taking pot shots? He's probably not going to be here long term anyway.

Fair points but I'll still stand by my initial post. It's primarily about the intent and instructions that the players are trained in and go out onto the field with. But do we know what the intent and instructions were that the players took on to the field? Also do we know if the players just failed to carry them out? Allardyce gave the impression that almost nothing that went on after half time was according to his intentions.
