Letís just buy a left back

Iím sure our expert director of football has the inside stats on every left back in Europe

You'd bloody hope not. He's had some good games and some bad at right back. I'm not convinced he'd be any better than Martina playing out of position

We need to have a left footed left back

We do not know when Coleman might come back, it could be as late as March or April, and will he be up to speed again this season? Also we do not know  when Baines is coming back, presumably before Coleman, and how good Baines might be. Big problem this for the club, spend on a left back stick with the rookie Jonjo at RB for the rest of the season or what? If they sign someone for LB would it be a stop gap (which is what Cuco is) or a big signing, which means drop Baines? I have no answers, just questions.

Why do people start threads like this?

I'm not sure movie JJK out of position is good for anyone. As for the LB position, we need to sign one to replace Baines. He's been a great player for us, but is on the decline and has been for a couple of years.

Keith Newton played at left back and was right footed - great full back

Pat Van Den Hauwe also a right footed left back - great full back

(Pretty sure the same for Denis Irwin at United - great full back)

Terry Darracott eh? That brought tears to my eyes. I remember when the manager instructed him and Lyons to pass it sideways to each other instead of hoofing it up the pitch. Both were traumatised by the experience; so were the fans when they just passed and passed and passed sideways going nowhere, until one of them
cracked and hoofed it. Terry would walk through a wall for you; lousy player though.

Great mates, Lyons and Darracott - had a short spell as Manager & Assistant Manager together at Grimsby

Lyons would run through two brick walls for Everton and nut a lamp post!

They probably didn't have a right footed player like Sigurdsson playing in front of them though.

Ball, Kendall, Harvey, Morrissey, Husband, Royle and Whittle were all right footed and in front of Newton

Psycho did have Sheeds ahead of him, of course!

Methinks Kenny is a depth option once all is right with Everton.  Assuming all is ever right with Everton again.

Left footed Left Back would be nice, the same problems would occur with Kenny turning inside onto his right foot

Can't be any worse than Coco ,at least we know Lennon is a footballer in more ways than just job title on a cv.

I think Martina has done okay tbh. He is a right back playing left back and id argue if he came through our academy he wouldn't get half as much stick as he currently is. Yes, he isn't good enough but Kenny has had his fair amount of errors during games too, wild swipes into his own net etc, he's probably a little more committed in his challenges than Martina but hes also caught out of position just as much. He has much more potential, but I dont see that as left back and only time will tell if he has the quality to eventually take over from Coleman, hopefully he does?

Martina is just as bad right back as he is left. This is the problem... it's not what foot he is.
