Currently on 34 points

Need ~ 37/39/40 to survive

I’ve been a bit optimistic and have us on 46/49 end of season in 8th, right behind 7th but miles off 6th.

What’re you saying?

34 points come Southampton west ham game ...that's as optomistic as I can be right now.

Unless we bin Sam off and bring Unsworth back in before to long.

Interestingly 47 is what we got with Martinez in his two seasons where he finished 11th. Amazing that now gets you 7/8th.

I put us on 48.

Burnley (a) - 1
Brighton (h) - 3
Stoke (a) - 1
City (h) - 0
Shite (h) - 1
Swans (a) - 1
Newcastle (h) - 3
Hudds (a) - 1
Southampton (h) - 3
West Ham (a) - 0

Burnley 0
Brighton 3
Stoke 1
City 0
Shite 0
Swansea 0
Newcastle 1
Huddersfield 0
Southampton 0
West Ham 0

Finish season on 39 points. Just hope we beat Brighton at home because that should secure our safety.

Be great to win our next two
Thank Sam, his clowns and that utter fraud Walsh and say see you later
Give unsworth the last 6 or so games
Then bring in a whole new regime season end.

Do think some of you are going a bit over the top here.

We're still winning our winnable home games and I expect that to continue so there's 43 points already.

And we'll get a few draws away from home as well.

I reckon we'll finish on about 47

We will beat the crap teams at home, lose all the tough ones and pick up the odd point away, without winning any of those away games.maybe like 45 points?

47 eeeek.

Agree, although it feels ridiculously optimistic to say we’ll win away anywhere right now. I’d probably say 45, and hope we do better. Would be really nice to fluke an away win somewhere though.

How important are those Brighton and Newcastle games looking right now though?

Burnley 1
Brighton 3
Stoke 1

West Ham 1

I have us on 47 but that's being generous, more likely 42-45.

A win at Burnley, please!

Based on the points returns from equivalent games so far I’d expect 9-10 points from Home games and 4-5 points from aways.

Although there’s a chance of complete tail off if there really isn’t anything to play for so.

Yeah Southampton finished 8th last year on 46.

To be able to feel more comfortable of moving up a level we need to get rid of the possibility that when having a bad season we drop 15-20 points from the season before.

I can't rmember what thread I said it in, but this team is so fragile at the back, and capable of going long stretches without even a shot on target. Plus we can't win away from home.

Don't really see us getting more then 42-44 Points.

Newcastle and Southampton will be tough games at home as well as they will be battling relegation.

I don’t think we are that bad at the back, just think we have absolutely zero idea going forward that it means we have less of the ball and more time for the opposition to attack us.

More importantly however is that history has shown us that you get unexpected results when the shit get's real at the end of the season.

This is a really depressing sobering thread.

Can’t disagree with that assessment. Next game is massive. 3 pts and we’re st 37 which historically probably means we’re ok (I believe 36.6 is actually the average number to be safe rather than 40). We can also maybe play more calmly in some of the away games which will allow us to pick up a couple more points. Anything other than a win for us and it’s going to be a really, really nervy run in.

Arsenal away (us excluded of course) are awful. However yes, doesn’t make next weeks game any easier.

Having trawled through Stoke, CP and a couple of others fixtures I think 4 pts to stay up, at this rate it might be a case of 1 at a time.

Currently 10th Brighton 34 pts - next to bottom, Stoke 27pts

Ten teams covered -two from them ten get relegated (assuming WBA gone) - but what plays into the hands of those of us 10th 11th 12th, the very fact it's so tight and congested - couple of wins for anyone (Watford for example) is huge, but that is the thing, very few are going to win two on the trot, most will lose more than they win, draws keep you treading water.

Everton are poor, piss poor, but points on the board are so very important right now.

Could do without a Palace win tonight, slim chance of being sucked into it or not.

6 from the drop as of right this second.

This weekends game is looking massive now.

Yes of course - but to get relegated means seven teams have to leap over us - that will only happen if we don't score another point ..... in which case .... relegation is deserved.

Relax lads, some of us older folk have much experience of this shit!

We should be alright by the virtue of the huge number of shite teams below us, but I'd rather not get to our two expected losses having not got another win on the board.

The thought of Allardyce smirking as we get relegated makes me feel like murder

Dunno like

Huddersfield, Newcastle and West Ham all have winnable home games this weekend....

If we fuck up against Brighton.....

Worrying thing is if you gave me a choice of any of those games this coming weekend, I wouldn’t really be 100% on us getting a result.

True, but when do we become one of those shite teams?

We look more and more the part every weekend.

We’ve absolutely confirmed our place as right in the middle of it. Last 4 years will be 11th / 11th / 7th / probably 11th.

We’re fucking shite and all over the place.

Even watching Palace for example they have players haring about all over the place, lots of pace and look bang up for at least having a go in games. I do wonder how the fuck we have amassed 34 points so far with our pedestrian play.

Yeah it’s mad how shite we’ve been and there’s teams in the league that have actually managed to be worse than us.

I think 11th is pretty optimistic, man.

We are definitely getting done over by the shite and City, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose to Stoke, Swansea, and Huddersfield.

Two wins and a draw in the Brighton, Newcastle, and Southampton home games are essential, I feel.

Even when we were blowing each other all over this site when we were signing the players in the summer I wasn’t anywhere near convinced that we had enough to maintain Top 7, let alone break into the Top 6.

Right now I would be made up with top half.

Another 8/9 pts is about the best we'll get....
Just watched Palace and they look so much better than us...it's hard to believe we aren't in the bottom 3

Just a shame Koeman flapped it big time soon as we had a poor start.

All he had to to was get on the training ground and drill them like he did last season and he'd still be here and we'd be coasting to 7th.

Instead he seen his arse and and threw the towel in. Allardyce is doing the same now.

Using the ol' predictor thing I got:

Swansea 42
Newcastle 41
Huddersfield 40
Watford 40
Everton 40
Bournemouth 39
Stoke 37
Southampton 34
WBA 22

Our goal difference is pretty fucking shocking though, and with City and Liverpool still to pull our pants down.....

Expecting something like this. Fearing worse.

The top of the PL is getting further and further away from the rest. Arsenal already look like being set permanently adrift from the top of the league. A few more poor seasons and people will be shunning them for the top 4 and Arsenal will be in with us, Watford, Stoke and Southampton fighting for the best of the rest.

If we don't sort it out soon, we will even leave that bracket and be regular relegation fighters with WBA, Swansea, Bournemouth and whoever pops up and pops back down from the Championship each year.

The future's bleak, the skies are grey.

Grim reading that.

So if Bournemouth and Stoke upset the odds in just 1 game we'll be getting relegated (based on that).

Burnley (a) L
Brighton (h) W
Stoke (a) W
City (h) L
Shite (h) L
Swans (a) L
Newcastle (h) W
Hudds (a) L
Southampton (h) D
West Ham (a) D

45 points?
A couple of those wins could easily be losses though but a couple of the losses could become draws
Shit state of affairs really

Swans (a)
Newcastle (h)

Currently on 34 points

Need ~ 37/39/40 to survive

I’ve been a bit optimistic and have us on 46/49 end of season in 8th, right behind 7th but miles off 6th.

What’re you saying?

How did you all get on? I might be overachieving here - could win our last two games, I think a win and a draw tho.

That would leave us on 52, in 8th, right behind 7th but miles off 6th.

Do think some of you are going a bit over the top here.

We're still winning our winnable home games and I expect that to continue so there's 43 points already.

And we'll get a few draws away from home as well.

I reckon we'll finish on about 47

Am I close?
