Many a time he came sliding in on someone and nearly ended up dropping over the parapet wall in front of the Bullens. A fantastic full back. Our best ever, I think? RIP Ray Wilson. :(

The best left back i have ever seen,he was my hero as a kid on the terrace, never seen anyone as class as he was  :hail:
I remember people saying " he has never been beaten"
R.I.P, Ray Wilson.

R.I.P. Ray, as others have mentioned he was a fabulous left back who graced both Everton and England shirts, an unsung hero of that World Cup winning team but he sure as heck made me very proud to be an Evertonian.

Ramon Wilson, England's best ever left back - world class

Alan Ball once said that the England 1966 World Cup squad had five world class players: Banks, Moore, Charlton, Greaves and Wilson

RIP

As hard as nails he was, when tackling properly was allowed.

They had a Ray Wilson day at the Huddersfield game the other day and some of his family were applauded onto the pitch by both sets of fans - seems quite fitting now.

RIP Ramon.

Never saw him play but enjoyed his company before his memories were stolen from him. Always a good time and always a gentleman - except to Gordon West who he would torment all night long!

Hoping he is rewarded with an eternity of knowing just how important he was to so many people.

Just had to post on this thread...

Ray Wilson....the very reason I chose full back as my chosen position (right back).....as a kid i got some great advice off him which stuck to me throughout my playing days....

A few years ago i was lucky to have lunch with RW, Gordon West and Emlyn Hughes....what a memory..

all sadly no longer with us but never forgotten...

ta lads...

My Grandad, rest his soul, would have been devastated about this. He always had Wilson in his best ever Everton team. Very sad news.
