I don't know if they are anymore reliable this year, haven't followed Sky at all, but last year the Football Whispers on Sky turned out to be complete guff most of the time.

Think it'd take a month or so to get going properly with all the new players, but think once settled those players would be quality for us, there then wouldn't be an obvious weak area to the XI

If he can recapture any of his early Chelsea form he'll be a beast next to Mina. He probably played within himself last year after his injury and with Stoke playing a backs to the wall horrible style of football it was just head and boot on everything that came near him and Shawcross all game.

No way should he start, bench at most, might bring the best out of Keane, if not throw him on at half time for Keane or Jags whichever having a mare.

I don't expect everyone to jump straight in, gonna take time but worry if we start with keane and jags that wolves will just walk through our defence.

no more dangerous than 2 slow defenders playing a high line against Wolves..

*im assuming we will play a high line...as we have done in every pre season match, and it is Silva's style of play.

wouldnt mind Jagielka and Keane, playing together if they started from the penalty box... but any higher up the pitch would be deadly to us.

There more than that to think of though isnt there, id personally have an issue if we disrespected the club Captain whose been a loyal servant to Everton for the previous 11 years by dropping him for a player that hasnt trained. I dont think it would set a good precedence and could cause issues in the squad. Jags knows his days are numbers, and to some extent appreciates that given his age, but there is a right way and a wrong way to treat people.

Both have thier pros and cons, arguably more cons for either IMO which is why I think we will struggle to get a win tomorrow. Still in my own opinion as I said before putting two centre halves in, the spine of our defence, without any in depth tactical training and not knowing the players that well is more dangerous.

Maybe Mina starting with probably Jags would be a good middle ground, a new signing and our most experienced defender.

My main worry is putting Zouma and Mina in form the start them have a bad game and thier confidence being shot to pieces right from the off.

Yes, throwing defenders in who are unprepared both physically and tactically could be a) bad in that match and b) bad in that many will be convinced theyíre rubbish on that one performance, meaning a long road back to gaining trust/ confidence.

I would think if he was going to use any of the new guys, it would be Bernard. I think that I read, iirc,he'd been turning out for a local team in Brazil. Not sure if there's anything substantive in that, but he would be the least likely to upset our leaky defence. More of a mercurial addition to the team, later on off the bench maybe? Looking forward to this, but obviously the next one is going to show us much more. :)

If this was any other club trying to confirm a deal 24 hours after the deadline we'd be calling them for everything.

It's probably ratification from the league and processing their paperwork. We'll probably have to demonstrate with evidence that enough of the deal was done, before the cutoff time. Sounds like a formality.

Are there any other deals in this limbo or is it just this 1? It does seem a bit odd given how long itís been now

There were ten deals pushed in before 5pm. Have any of those deals been announced yet? I'd imagine we were one of the last, so all the others will have been processed first which means there would be a delay on ours.

I see patience is a virtue long lost.

Richarlison, Digne, Bernard, Gomez, Mina and Zouma.

6 first team players. All superior quality to anything we bought last year(except maybe Sig) All better than what we currently have in every position. Can't be anything other than happy with that. 2 Brazilian attackers, a Classy ball playing CB with serious offensive threat on corners, Portoguese midfielder.

What is there not to like about this window. Absolutely amazing.

From Williams and Keane to Mina and Zouma

Every signing has pace, comfortable on the ball and will improve.

Shows at the very least we are thinking forward rather than the now

If we stick with these ideas, maybe we can actually go places.

Him and Mina compared to Jags & Keane should be night and day.  And totally superior to Williams and Mori.

Just need Holgate fit and we have a decent set of CB's. :)

That's a hell of a defence for a few weeks time. Pace, power, height and confidence on the ball. Looks solid and all the back four pose a threat at the other end either in open play or set pieces. No-one will want to give us silly free kicks out wide or even offer up cheap corners. Puts defenders under a lot of extra pressure.

I think itís probably a 10 out of 10 window. If youíd had said the names in May none of would have thought most were even possible

If the regime that was in charge in May was still around we'd have probably witnessed:
- Yaya Toure signing
- Everton spend 6 weeks trying to sign Jamie Vardy and offering Leicester £35m before he snubs us and signs his contract extension
- Everton trying to sign Phil Jones of Man Utd and end up with Mangala back on loan.
- Wayne Rooney signing a 3 year extension
- Ademola Lookman and Kieran Dowell being sold in June.
- Everton signing a 29 year old defensive midfielder from a bottom 5 PL team.

We've come a long way in just over 2 months.

Pace AND strength from set pieces, both in defence and attack. Starting to build a proper team now arent we. I think against Southampton at the weekend, we are going to see some of the best football we have seen in a long time...
