Title: Samir nasri
Post by: TheRam on October 12, 2018, 04:38:37 AM
Tentative link in the mail that we’re looking at the possibility of bringing him in on a free.

Thoughts?

Was quality back in the day, dunno where he would fit in now and seems to be a bit of a bellend

Given the talk of Brands and Silva wanting to bring in players who will settle in, buy into the club and get along with all the players I'd imagine someone like Samir Nasri would be well down the list of players who would fall into those categories.

I don’t think we need him?

Considering someone like lookman is struggling for minutes I don’t see where nasri fits in.

Maybe Silva has lost faith in Dowell which would be a shame.

Only 31, contract to the end of the season see how he gets on. Wouldn't be against it.

Don't think a 31 year old like him would ever contemplate such a short contract.  Would be looking for security of at least 2 years, probably 3

Coming off a drugs ban i think he wouldn't have a better option if he wanted to continue playing at a high level.

Safe to say he won’t be going back to Drip Doctors.

In terms of my 40 years of watching football he is probably the one player i just could not stand. And i am not usually that judgemental - but he irks me.

His agent trying to drum up interest.

Doesn't get anywhere near our starting 11

Complete cunt.

Not a bad player like just a bell end.

Would seem like a pointless signing.

He's a West Ham kind of signing

If he can re-capture his best form he does. I'd be happy to see him come in on a short term deal until the end of the season, see how he gets on.

Hasn't he been done for drugs? A 31 year old has been, with very current troubles, exactly what we should be avoiding.

Can’t see many positives in this, a 31 year old that hasn’t played competitive football for 18 months, seemingly has a poor attitude. We appear to have a great team spirit at the moment with lads on four and five year contracts, don’t really think we need risk another short term disruption, could this one go down as well as Ginola, Gaza, Eto ?

Not a clear cut "done for drugs" issue. It's worth looking into before passing judgement.

After reading that we’d be better off steering clear

You've already posted that. He was in the process of being offloaded, I'm not surprised his attitude was off.

Wasn’t he smashing someone in that clinic?

Wasn’t he smashing someone in that clinic?

“The Doctor” that diagnosed his need for treatment was his former girlfriend, had it in his hotel room, not in a clinic, the substance that is, I think !

Nasri had reported feeling ill and vomiting before calling a doctor, his Maryland-based former girlfriend Dr Sarabjit Anand, who provided an initial diagnosis. Nasri received treatment in his hotel room and later posed for a photograph with the organisation’s co-founder Jamila Sozahdah that drew publicity

Might be why his ban was increased from 6 to 18 months , just hope there’s no truth in the reports that we are interested.

I really hope not, surely this not the sort of buy we want moving forward? A 31 year old who hasn't played for 18 months and with a questionable attitude does not sound like a Brands/Silva target.

Plus, I don't like him. Happy to give anyone a second chance but I'd be really stretched to get behind this one.

And his girlfriend hacked his Twitter to post about it.

Surprised a few saying they would have him, this is the opposite type of player that we should be looking at, Brands and Silva definitely wouldn't be interested

Already struggled to get rid of a load of over 30s this summer, no point taking Nasri on 150k + (which he'd ask for as its a free transfer)

Lets keep to signing boss Brazilians and barcas fringe players for now :)

Probably at that point in his career now where he's had his big moves etc and won a few trophies, so probably doesn't have as much ambition anymore, and probably happy just to pick up a big wage each week for a team soft enough to pay him it - were past that point now of signing these types

BIG SWERVE ....too much about him being a cancer in Arsenals dressing room and the same with city ......should be nowhere near what we are aiming for with Marco & Marcel.
