RABIOT COMING TO THE PREM?
Adrien Rabiot is in talks with Manchester and Everton, according to French TV station TF1.
The French international is nearing the end of his PSG contract which expires officially at the end of this month.
United offering 170k per week apparently
-
He's not coming here.
-
Not a chance we will get him. There will be a huge queue of clubs that he will more likely go to.
-
Probably not, but if true im glad were at least trying, we can offer the big wages at least
-
He's after mad wages, and United will give him that.
-
Didn't he swerve spurs and say CL only from now on?
Sounds like he has a massive attitude problem.
Great player but let him go through his career being a twat and avoid him.
-
He is after big wages but more importantly, he wants to be the main man somewhere. He got fed up of being rotated at PSG, which affected his national team prospects.
Utd are in a state of flux and even on big wages and with their team being short of quality in the middle, he wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter. Lukaku,Sanchez and to a degree, Pogba have all been flops there, and OGS won’t last the season.
If we were up against Barca or Juve, then we wouldn’t have a chance but if we’re only up against Utd, it’s certainly possible.

Nothing wrong with dreaming
-
He's got s massive ego so will fit right in at United
-
lololol at coming to Everton. no chance at all.
-
People are to dismissive to early. We wouldn't get Mina over Man U, but we did. I'm of the belief theres no smoke without fire and if we are in discussions its purely down to the fact that there must've been given some encouragement. We aren't going into, or continuing dialogue unless him or his representatives have indicated there's a chance. Again, it might just be paper talk or we might be further down his pecking order, but wages and playing time will play in his decision making

If the national team is a factor then the fact Digne and Zouma got call ups all last season will have helped.

To tell you the truth I don’t know much about him, just that he plays in the midfield.
What type of player is he? More like Gilfy? more like Gomes?

*cries in emo*

He's already turned spurs saying they're not a big enough club, we've got absolutely no chance. We don't want him either, he sounds like a complete bell end, you don't need someone like that in the dressing room

I haven't watched him often but he's more of an all round midfielder, he's got good passing and is big (6' 2") and strong. I would say he is a bit of a mix of Gueye and Gomes, he's more mobile than Gomes but has the ability on the ball and is able to cover more ground and out his foot in like (but not as effective as) Gueye. In 50 games in 2017/18 he got 5 goals and 7 assists. I think he is most like Gomes.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, my Rabiot knowledge is fairly limited.
He would certainly be a step up in quality. But really can't see him coming to us, there will be a load of teams looking at him.

I must confess I know little about him, but what I dont get is if hes as good as people are saying he is why has he only got 6 international caps at the age of 24? I know its France and they are a decent side, but someone who people claim is this far out of our league id have thought would be a regular for his country? And these turning down Spurs stories have little to no substance, it was a source close to him that said he was too good, never direct quotes.

Laporte is 25, just won the treble and has never been capped.
Also Rabiot is a gobshite and it sounds like everyone who's ever met him thinks he's a little quilt.

Some other examples:
Tanguy Ndombélé 4 caps
Clément Lenglet 0 caps

He’s got the likes of Kante and Pogba in front of him, tbf. Also, he’s a bit like Davies in that no one’s too sure where his best position is. PSG wanted him as a holding midfielder but he wanted to play box-to-box. That’s half he reason he fell out with them and ran his contract down.
I still think we have a slim chance of getting him. You exclude China, then there are only about 15-20 teams that could pay him that wage, and we’re one of them.

Bit mad how people are turning their noses up at this possibility.

Some other examples:
Tanguy Ndombélé 4 caps

Howard Kendall 0 caps ,says it all

Newspaper rumor of player wanting £170k /week ≠ Everton can offer £170k/ week wages
-
If he’s a cunt don’t bother. The dressing room isn’t strong enough to cope and any progress we’ve made last season in building a good spirit amongst the players would vanish just like it did when we signed Eto’o.
Just not worth the risk.

Rabiot’s wages = approx what Jags, Williams Garbutt were on.
It’s not that much more than Siggy and Bernard are on and you’d expect to pay a premium wage for a ‘free’ transfer.
-
Is that right he hasn’t played since December for PSG because of his contract dispute

Yeah, had a few fallings out for turning up late for team meetings and being in nightclubs when he wasn't supposed to be.

Yeah. Not played at all since PSG's final group stage game in the Champions League. He then sacked his own mother who was his agent to get another one to sort a summer move. Which I found quite amusing to be honest. :)

He'd love town then
-
The depth of talent France have available to them is ridiculous.
-

Yeah. He's meant to be a bit of a nightmare off the pitch.

this is a good point tbh, talk of Depay being an absolute bell end at Lyon, and doesn't put a shift in etc - we do need to be careful on personalities, you'd hope brands and silva could spot the bad eggs though

Hard to know what to believe as all these rumours of signing players are multiplying like Rabiots at the moment.

I think this rumour is probably true, similar to Bernard deal - free transfer offered big wages. Cant see it happening, but I bet weve had a go

I believe it too; Brands commented on aiming for the biggest signings possible when we hired Greta Steinsson. Brands said he aims high like he does, and goes all out to get a player whether they are seen as being above them or not. We could also dangle the carrot of a CL release clause if needed.
-
Some months ago I read (and I'm sorry but can't remember where) about the things that are fully considered before we sign anyone and personality etc was high on the list. They have to 'fit in' in the wider sense.
Anyone else think where I saw this? Might have been about Brands and the way he assesses potential signings.
Every signing at every club is both a risk and an opportunity - that's what makes it interesting and exciting.
