I don't often comment on here (understatement) but I just have to say that, in the midst of one of the worst and most divisive seasons I've experienced at Goodison, I love the fact that football and Everton can still conjure moments of such intense emotion under the Goodison lights. The reception given to Seamus by the Park End at the end of the match and the reaction of Seamus to it makes all the other shite I've put up with this season worth it. A moment of pure of magic on a cold and miserable night, sometimes being Irish and Evertonian is a wonderful thing...3 points were also most welcome!

Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy, which sustained him through temporary periods of joy.
