Allardyce blames players for Arsenal humiliation
Everton boss Sam Allardyce has said that his players are giving him "no chance" with their inconsistency.

Fucking dickhead. Nothing like giving him a fair go. Two starts and he's dropped.
The players were awful. I agree with him on that. Trouble is, the idiot doesn't give them an opportunity to play properly.
This season needs to end soon.
-
Enough
-
He could help his cause a lot by keeping the shape and strategy similar on a match-to-match basis. Not really a surprise to see players struggle with something they've only had a week to prepare. Or two days, in this case.
Calm the fuck down with your team selections, Sam.
-
If he says "Setup like Swansea" one more time...
-
Course he does.

-
He needs to fucking do-one.
-
Its almost like we've been making mass changes to both personel, formation and strategy week in week out.
Oh and he's wrong about some, schneiderlin has been consistently shit.
-
Changing 5 players following a win and setting up with 3 cbs one of them making his debut playing with wingbacks who probably never have played there and he still blames the players. Sack him now and use the money we didn't use on Silva
-
I desperately want this footballing retard out of our club .

why the he'll would we want to do our own thing when we can base our game plan around what Swansea did at home? If it worked for them we must implement it, surely that'll be the best option....
-
Drop how many from a winning team then say the players are inconsistent...something is making our managers say mad things, we need an Exorcist at Goodison...
-
I desperately want this footballing retard out of our club .
I'm already sick of the sight of him.
-
phenomenal bullshit, how did you expect the players to play with 8 defensive players, theo, niasse and a drunk Bolasie?
Sam did you seriously think that Everton could hold out for 90s mins? i agree, we could, if we had 40%possession, but we have around 15-20% against the top teams, due to the same shit house tactics.
Whats humiliating is a manager who cant see his own ego, your tactics are shit, your choice of swapping and changing is shit, thats what makes the players inconsistent.
-
We need to be ballsy about our next appointment, we wont though, will probably go back for Moyes.
-
im pretty sure we wouldnt lose 5-1 with moyes against arsenal
oh wait..
-
I doubt that the clueless brothers will be given the boot before the end of the season but it would be just so Everton if they sacked Sham and then hired Silva before the Watford away game.
-

It ended a few weeks ago against the shite.
Could someone not set this fucker up taking a bribe or something the way the England camp did.
-
Everton is one team, managers and players together. He is the one who chooses the players, he chooses the tactics, he trains the players, he is supposed to motivate the players... supposedly 3 experienced managers working now and they cannot see that Schneiderlin is shit. They keep rotating the defense and nobody has any chemistry at the back.
It’s been enough time for them to implement their “game plan” to the players. And what’s their best strategy?? When did we play our best football? Parking the bus, to get 9 players in front of Pickford and hope DCL will do some magic updront.
This season is now pointless, get rid of him, he’s got no pride, no humbleness, no love for our team. I’m sure Unsworth won’t let us get relegated, and lets get busy getting a big time manager in the summer and start the clean up of the team.
-
Imagine a world where you could sign a contract worth £6m a year and then force your way out of it after a few months and still get paid
-
Just got back from the game and said to an Arsenal fan, that I bet I see on here that Allarydce has blamed the players again, after seeing that horrendous formation and team selection. Absolutely no idea. Kenny long diagonal ball into Niasse, or Schneiderlin long diagonal ball into Bolasie. The team were abject but Schneiderlin was worse, big Sam was worse than that but the way he can call the players crap after that and not look at himself shows he is one thing, a thin skinned narcissist. I bet the players love him.
-

Bang on.
He could blame the players, the fans and whoever he wanted, he wouldn’t care. Pint of Cristal to celebrate.
-
Is anyone surprised by this, I mean really, on the day he was appointed did anyone actually think he would do a decent job? The board panicked and literally begged him to take the job, they're as much to blame as him, can't be trusted at all
-

imagine in that same world, that 33%of the people in 2013 where under the poverty line... figures are bound to be higher now due to the disparity...
Should give that cash to Everton in the community... hell our last 3 managers have rinsed us, we should give equal amounts of t that cash to the people!
*dreams*

I didn't want koeman out but being honest I thought Sam was better than people were saying, thought he had a bit of tactical awareness and a bit about him. Happy to admit I was woefully wrong, just fuck off now Sam
-
Wow, can't believe he's singled out Tosun and said he wasn't holding the ball up like he did at besiktas......in his first 1 & 1/2 games, that's why he hasn't been starting!! Also said that he hasn't hit the ground running. Play him then you fucking moron, he can't hit the ground running if he's not playing. He actually did okay basically in the 100 mins he's played for us. Done with Allardyce, fuck him.
-
Anyone not want him to be sacked now?
The reason is not that we would get much for results, just that we need to stop him from further poisoning the dressing room (especially the young players).
-
Anyone not want him to be sacked now?
He won't be sacked

sam go grow some bollocks admit your out your depth
you question the players question yourself save your pride
just leave our club you tried NOW GO :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I thought he'd make us hard to beat, make us more organised but play shit football
He did for a while like but now it's back to the bummings with the shit football
-
Only one thing happens when you blame the players you fat cunt just ask Ronald .
-
So his argument is that Tosun doesnt hold the ball up, and the answer instead is to play Niasse?

When we sold Arteta.
-
Nothing surprising about this, he's publicly blamed his players for bad performances whilst claiming credit for good performances himself throughout his career. He's a bellend and his management has been mostly awful since he arrived.
The worst of it is that I knew it would be pretty dire under his management, but I didn't expect it to be as bad as it is turning out. Team selection and tactics were absolutely terrible today, played right in to their hands.
-
Martinez was a blunder.

The day moshiri took over. I'm not solely blaming him as he has done some impressive things for us, but we've lost our identity. We went from paupers, hard to beat, resilient, good team ethics to poor pretenders and something were not. We tried to run before we could walk and we've got an empty vessel of nothingness striving for the next level but more than willing to revert and sell our sole just to remain in the league, it really is sad times
-
Jesus wept! He actually said that?
That's what the article at the top of the thread says mate, struggling to believe what I was reading when I seen it. Feel bad for Tosun, comes to new country for start of a new career, trying to fit in, should be an exciting time for him but comes to a club in absolute chaos. Then his manager basically says he been shite, when he's barely kicked a ball!!
-
I didn't want koeman out but being honest I thought Sam was better than people were saying, thought he had a bit of tactical awareness and a bit about him. Happy to admit I was woefully wrong, just fuck off now Sam
Same, he did what was expected first few games. Now it's turned into a total mess again and he's obviously not up to the job.
-
Allardyce was asked whether Ademola Lookman, who scored on Saturday for RB Leipzig after joining on loan, could have had an impact.
"No, we've got £20m Theo Walcott and £30m Yannick Bolasie and if you'd put him out there he wouldn't have done any better than the rest because the whole team played crap," he responded.
Fuck me, to think we paid so much for Bolasie.
The more I hear from Shithouse Sam, the more I despise everything he stands for.

I've said it before and I probably come across as anti moshiri, which I'm not, I just want the best for Everton, but our leadership genuinely worries me. We jeopardized our season in our pursuit of Silva, we wanted to pay In excess of 12 million for him, we got desperate and got Allardyce. We could now get Silva for probably half that amount ot even the same amount if we sacked Sam, yet we don't? If he was willing to spunk 12 million 4 months ago why not get him now? He just goes on whims and really doesn't have a clue or a clear idea of how to progress us. I'm not saying Silva is the solution, but im sure as hell those in charge dont have much of a better idea on how to get success either.
Didn't really do a great job of proving im not against moshiri granted, but genuinely I'm not!!😂

Yeah, fuck that. That's the type of thing you come out with on a Sunday morning after the game behind closed doors, not to the waiting media, the cunt.

😂 He is so fucking unprofessional!
He's like the manager of a pub team getting pissed in the clubhouse after the game

Martinez no good.
Koeman no good
Allardyce no good
Who can get our fantastic club back to where it should belong. Get Silva now or someone who isnt going to let this bunch of player carry on.

I find it quite sad.
I'm not saying the previous managers were saints but at least they knew how to conduct themselves with a great degree of professionalism in front of the media.
I used to take great pride in Everton - at least on the face of it - conducting itself with great dignity especially in relation to other clubs. But since the new investment has come in I feel we've lost a lot of that, people like Moshiri and Allardyce certainly haven't helped the club's image.
-

Yeah something isn't right behind the scenes. It does look like Moshiri doesn't have a clue what he's doing and he's just throwing money at it, but I don't think that's the worst thing in the world in the sense that he's prepared to spend on our club. Problem seems to me like hes probably employed people like Walsh, who he believes, do know what they are doing. I think they are letting him down badly, I don't think the whole director of football or whatever it is, is helping the club right now. I think we need to get it right in the summer in areas like, manager, DOF, scouting & identifying targets.
-
Don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to defend allardyce but reading through all the opinions the players are getting away with murder.
Gang of shithouse bottlers who constantly underperform.
Tactics and selection go so far but damn right desire and determination are sorely lacking with this bunch of cunts
-
Yeah, not having some of the comments if accurate.
This club...

The players have been fucking awful mate no argument from me there. some of the attitudes of a few of them are disgraceful, some of them clearly aren't good enough. But to change a winning team from Wednesday so much like Allardyce did today was criminal. You could see how much we improved 2nd half by simply going to a back 4 and bringing Davies on. He chanced his arm on that formation today & it cost us the game early on. It's definitely a bit of both though, players and manager being as shite as each other. Summer at this club is going to be crucial, players, managers in and out, hopefully with a director of football on his way too. Just hope we get the people in we need.
-

Yeah there are quite a few players who don't understand or probably don't even give a shit about the importance of playing for Everton. I've pretty much had it with Schneiderlin, I don't know what the hell is going on with him, he looked good this time last year but now he really needs time away from the first team.
At the same time, while I agree the players should take more responsibility, it doesn't help that some of the managers we've had this season have insisted on rotating large chunks of the team after every game so few of them know their value or purpose in the team. It also doesn't help when a manager approaches a game so negatively, we used to criticise David Moyes for his inferior mentality towards clubs at the top end of the table but Sam Allardyce has taken it completely to a new level.
If the manager doesn't encourage a winning mentality but rather encourages a drawing mentality or even a narrow defeat mentality then you are going to end up with a team of losers.
-
Allardyce is the only one who comes out a winner here. The club came back grovelling to him when he realised they weren't his first choice replacement as manager. He then screwed them over for millions for an 18 month contract. In the summer he will be laughing when the club pay him off.
Fans need to look at the bigger picture and see how inept the people running our club really are, worse than fucking Sam Allardyce, and not just on his appointment but many catastrophic decisions which are routinely made.
-
Wow...don't really know where to start with this shower of shit.
One thing is guaranteed, is that these kind of hammerings will keep happening with this team, under this leadership.
So many players not good enough for a top 6-8 prem team, Allardyce has a proven track record of mediocrity and we're continuing our slide into an abyss of averageness.
How we're as high as 10th place is only down to the crap that is below us in the league, although 7 of those teams have conceded fewer goals than us.
We'll stay up this season, but our stock as a club will continue to drop. We've splashed out crazy money for average players and have sold our best player for a generation for peanuts (not as simple as that, I know). All the while, we are just unable to deliver. Porous in defence and no threat up front.
It has got to a stage of accepting mid-to-lower table survival under a second rate manager, with players not fit enough to clean the boots of the best in the premier league.
As I said, we'll be beaten like this again. There is some quality in this league, at least 6 teams are capable of taking us to the cleaners and the more worrying aspect is that, all the other teams in the PL know that we are there for the taking. If they attack, they'll get chances and the way our defence is, they are likely to score.
-

I take on board the managers antics don’t help like but that doesn’t excuse the output from the team. To me it’s basic things we’re doing wrong. Changes in system can cost u a game but not the fashion in which u lose. I’m sick of us folding like a pack of cards, it’s criminal the way they consistently underperform. If we have a go and fall short u can blame tactics, but we just roll over and die like cowards alll the time
Gang of shithouses

That Sky Sports interview is an absolute joke.

There is a lot of truth in this. We really have lost our identity since Moshiri arrived, but I don't blame Moshiri. Martinez and Koeman bought very badly. At the same time we brought in a DoF for the first time - a DoF is supposed to give continuity from manager to manager but Walsh has brought the opposite - disjointed decisions on signings so we end up with loads of 10s and no left back. I have to say I can't see the point of a DoF, too many chiefs... So the club is going through a lot of changes and just isn't handling those changes well...
-
Fucking insane this club. Not even going to bother having a pop at Allardyce anymore. He's not even arsed. He had one eye on the exit on his way in. The soft cunt(s) who employed him are the problem.
-

I reckon he realised that this was an unwinnable game and picked basically a reserve side to avoid injuries for the next game that IS winnable. I may be wrong but that's how I saw it - especially with Walcott being withdrawn.
-

I see it that way as well, he's a fucking wannabe big time manager with small time values.
-
I see it that was as well, he's a fucking wannabe big time manager with small time values.
Yep. Which makes it all the more bizarre to lash out on the players, it will either reduce morale or fire them up, and from what we have seen this season we know which of those is the most likely.
-
No wonder players tried to get out of this shithole with comments like that.
Never seen a man so out of his depth.
-
Imagine a world where you could sign a contract worth £6m a year and then force your way out of it after a few months and still get paid
It's the only explanation for that team selection yesterday, deliberately antagonistic, Koeman did the same, seems a carbon copy of his behaviour..

I bet they hired Sam with that money.

I'm not sure whether Tosun minds. I mean, the managers do say/yell a lot of shit/idiotic things in the Turkish league also. It's even kinda expected from them.
-
It’s no wonder there was a queue outside his door of players wanting to leave on deadline day.... but the players are supposed to love Sam’s man management skills aren’t they?
-

Yep just ask Theo, he couldn’t wait to hook up with BFS, (yea right)
-
His comments, particularly the Lookman one, are as bad as I've heard from any manager. They're disgraceful to be honest - you'd get a disciplinary in any other form of employment for that.
When it comes to business, Moshiri is the man for us. When it comes to football, he's as far out of his depth as I would be on a date with Gisele. He needs to recognise this and delegate to someone who has the expertise. That man isn't Steve fucking Walsh.
I hope that the rumours about the PSV DoF are true and that he'll come in before the last game of the season, replacing Walsh and sacking Sam on the centre circle as the teams line up for the pre match bollocks. He can then recruit a manager and scouting network with some professionalism and leave Mosh to the stadium and commercial deals.
-

Yeah, “like”.

Sorry mate but he has put them back in the team . Unsworth put those who weren't up for the fight out to grass and that cunt has brought them back in . Schneiderlin should have been gone with Mirallas . Lennon for all his limitations ran his fucking heart out every game . Davies and DCL give there all and Holgate and Jagielka are far and away superior to Keane and Williams . Bolasie isn't even a footballer and a talent like Lookman is out on loan at one of Germanys top clubs . He has created a total mess after getting his first few results off the back of Unsworth sorting the mess out . The worse thing is I don't think Sivlva was or is the answer . The bloke just found himself catapulted into the Prem by Hull and Watford . He has done less than Carvalho , Jokanovic , Rowett or Nuno Sanchez have in the Championship . Moshiri is a fucking clown and will just go for a quick fix . He is the sort of bloke who buys a new car because his clutch goes . This club for all its Jim White inspired waffling is a fucking joke and this cunt will put us right back in a relegation battle .
-

...................yes I agree , he's thinking like a relegation-zone manager. I think it was Pardew or somebody who came out with similar comments the other week and then lost the 'winnable ' game.
-

To be fair Unsy picked Schneiderlin in the very next game after the training ground incident and regularly picked Mirallas.
He wasn’t any different with regards to multiple changes from game to game (even half to half).
The last game did find the right balance in terms of midfield (as we seen vs Leicester) and should be replicated as often as possible.
-

I agree Unsworth was all over the place till the West Ham game and maybe the result was a 'pressure off' thing as the club had gone for Allardyce . The difference is we are talking about vastly differing Managers in terms of experience . Schneiderlin hasn't done a tap all year and even Allardyce could see that . The team selection yesterday was abysmal more so after the midweek win . It stank of him thinking he is a tactical genius as opposed to a clown . Unsworth could at least point to inexperience .
-
The man is a cancer. The damage he is causing with all his remarks especially with new signings are a disgrace.
He reminds me of Donald Trump. In the twilight of his years he wants the show to be all about himself.
-
Martinez was a blunder.
Koeman was an arrogant bluffer, now Allardyce is running out of excuses. Where did it all go wrong?
It went wrong imho when moshiri walked in the door, the stability created by moyes and blue bill developed because moyes dealt solely with players and recruitment, bill worked in the background to finance his requests. Now you've got a guy who has only has a business background trying to oversee everything, currently his football decision making is on a par with Eliabeth Taylor's choice in husbands.

And yet some want the fucking clown in complete control . Fans got fed up with Moyes over 10 years just as Arsenal fans have with Wenger and it is hard to replace stability . A footballing fucking dinosaur on an 18 month contract and bringing in his own staff was never going to create that . What in heavens fucking name was Moshiri thinking of ?

Rightly or wrongly Moshiri and the board panicked. They feared we might go down and went for Allardyce for stability. If he keeps us up as terrible as the football is, as short term thinking as it is, they will consider their decision valid an happily pay him off.

I said at the time and I will say it again Sam Allardyce is/was not the only Manager who would keep us up . Pay him off or not the damage he could do wasn't worth his appointment .

I don't disagree

The players DO have to take a big cthunk of the blame.
Some of these professionals are letting us down time after time whoever the manager is.
Martinez is now Belgium manager... Koeman will be Holland's.
Things worked well under both here at first. Did they become bad managers or did the players ?
They are doing the same to Allardyce.

I'd say they are trying to focus their games around Sam's plans
8 defensive players from ko is asking for trouble imo.
One early mistake and how do you get back into the game
Since Sam has been in charge I've seen plenty of sides set up defensively but be an attacking threat. I've not seen that from us cos we are TOO defensive to the point where its actually shocking
Is that the players betraying Allardyce?

it´s fuckin bonkers isn´t it. 8 defensive players on the ptich and we were 3 down after 19 minutes. if you´re gonna play like tht you better damn well make sure you keep the goals conceded to a maximum of 1. a lot of fume on here about moshiri and i have to agree with it. all of this stops at his door. all of it.

I miss Martinez. I really do. People just needed some patience.
-
Felt like a really stupid move to me tbh.
Their confidence was rocked and yeah they’ve been good at home but I feel we should have put it on their toes and not let them have a minute.
Instead we set up a very very low block, and let arsenal stroll forward win players like Ozil having 3-4 touches before picking a pass.
They’re not Liverpool (pace merchants no midfield), they actually do have good passing midfielders and their best footy is always neat one twos with some shite team sat in front of them - so why let them on the ball all day long?
Even if he thought yeah keep it tight nick one FINE but at 2/3 down...are our hoping to nick 3 are you? And then he says the second half performance was good but too late well make the fucking change then!
-

He had it 75-80% right, which was a great deal closer than Koeman got, or Allardyce could ever dream of. But that last bit was a fatal flaw, and he couldn't or wouldn't fix it. I think maybe international footy is a better fit for him. Anyway, he lost the dressing room, and that was that.
It is a shame, really. Because the progressive, optimistic template (without the "blowing smoke up your ass" factor) is almost certainly what we need.
-
Could this be a new record in how quick a manager could lose a dressing room?
-
His comments, particularly the Lookman one, are as bad as I've heard from any manager.
I don’t know if the PSV Director is necessarily the right fit but we definitely need someone with vision to oversee footballing matters.
The fact that we can talk about “Walsh signings,” “Koeman signings,” “Allardyce signings,” and maybe even a “Kenwright signing” is concerning. It’s not too surprising that we’re getting so many football decisions wrong, especially squad-building, when things are so disjointed behind the scenes.
-

We were patient for 2 years, Martinez went in a direction with a philosophy which he just could not implement properly at all. The last couple of months showed he lost control and some of his press conferences were very uncomfortable to the point he mentioned we had not spent money during his time as boss despite paying £28m for Lukaku and Niasse's transfer was seen as a huge investment.
As bad as Koeman and Allardyce have ultimately been as Everton managers, I doubt we would have been better off keeping Martinez.
-
Could this be a new record in how quick a manager could lose a dressing room?
I think I had him down to be chased out of here quicker than he was chased out of Newcastle. Not sure on time scales but I might not be far off. How depressing.
-
Has no class at all ...rule one of management of any sort, is don't fuck your staff and stab them in the back .....he's failed miserably since day one .
-
Looks like a hatrick of shithouses then, Allardyce picke a team that nobody would have picked last night so must be a signal he wants out of it with the dosh..Tosun and Walcott must be thinking what the fucking fuck planet is this...
-
Our problems are our own doing, but from an opportunity perspective, we were the best in England 6 years too soon. We came into big money 10 years too late.
Although Moyes had issues, if he had a little more money than he did get, I think he might have put us on even firmer foundations and challenged a bit more.
Our appointments since have been very poor. We need a new Moyes type who can build, be loyal to the club and have the stability and time to build something.

Moyes was an absolute diamond when it came to improving cheap players, hard to find a manager with as good a record as regards that, but he used to enrage us with his negativity on the big occasion, still not calmed down after the FA semi with the shite, his darkest hour for me...
-
Expected. He's a twat. Move on........

Compared to Sam, he was the most positive manager in the world. And that's with me losing patience with Moyes in the last 3 years of his reign.

That woukd suggest he had it in the first place to lose?
-

I liked this because I also miss RM, and also thinking you were asking for patience about Sam eventually being sacked, not being patient for him to turn things around.
I hope we get rid soon, but I don't think its going to be imminent, I can understand the argument for getting to 40 points before we do sack him.
-
You can't build stability based on those sort of comments. It's like poison. I thought they would give Allardyce the length of his contract to avoid chopping and changing too much, but I can't see how he stays beyond the end of the season now unless we go on some amazing unbeaten run.
I still say the first appointment, which should be ASAP will be a new DoF.
-

He's deffo more positive nowadays, didn't blame Sam for anything till last night, he's shit his hole with that display...people who doubted his motives were spot on..

The dick even had the cheek to suggest that his ‘tactical awareness’ influenced the second half pick up. Sam it was you that chose completely the wrong set up, personnel (who the fuck trials a new formation with a brand new CB at the Emirates??!) for the first half
If the players don’t respond it’s probably because (as you alluded to) they only had 3 days to think about the new tactics and ZERO time to practice them (all your own words Sam).
Well here are my words for you. It’s just plain STUPID to go with something new with such short notice, especially at a time when player confidence is already low. Abysmal management

He's a weapon, a gum chewing trident missile headed for wealthy retirement.

This is what baffles me this season; Sandro, Klaassen and now Tosun are not good enough... fucking give them more than 3 games you Thundercunt.
-

That might have been a valid argument had it been the same players throwing games now to when we used to capitulate under Martinez but it isn't. We've spent hundreds of millions and used over 30 players just this season. There wasn't a single player (barring Niasse who barely played) who featured against Arsenal that was here when Martinez got the bullet so let's stop saying there is something endemic throughout the squad.
This time last year we were still in with a shout of the top 4 and with a good summer of recruitment Koeman would still be here and we wouldn't be where we are now. In my mind the buck stops with one man and that is Walsh, a man appointed way above his ability and has been instrumental in everything bad about the club in the past 18 months.
-
Still find it amusing his defence was that he copied Swansea and so the tactics were fine. Is that the extent of our ideas? It's the tactical equivalent of trying to answer exam questions by looking at what the kid next to us is writing and wondering what went wrong.

So we all know what to expect on Saturday, Newcastle got a point against Palace so let’s just copy what Newcastle did, one more point to safety eh !
-
I reckon he just wrote-off the Arsenal game as a damage-limitation job.
It was a disaster in those terms but he was never expecting anything other than a defeat anyway.
Looks like the Palace game was always the target.

It’s just as baffling that he’d then hammer the players when all he’d done was show them videos of that game.
Ignoring completely Home / away dynamics for us and them, different players, that they probably practiced that for a week before the game.
He actually said something similar after Spurs where he said he toyed with the idea of copying WHam but then opted for the more “attacking” approach.
I don’t expect us to go all gung ho in these games at all but we should at least be playing with some resemblance to how we normally play not just copying wholesale someone else with previous success.

Why would you write any game off?
-
I wouldnt but Allardyce seems to have.
-
Why would you write any game off?
Because it’s Allardyce, he picks up a million for keeping us up, gives a fuck about even trying at Arsenal,
reckons we get out of there with 1-0 or 2-0 defeat, was expected by the bookies anyway, keeps his powder dry for Crystal Palace then only needs another 4 or 5 points to get his bonus, gives a fuck if we finish 15th or 7th he won’t be around anyway and he knows it.

Sounded genuine and said how sad he was that their poor performances had cost Koeman his job.Didnt want that to happen again.

He's the only one on this occasion
-
Why would you write any game off?
Especially for those that have also travelled to see it.
-
Writing 'unwinnable' games against the top 6 off is what teams at the bottom of the league, like Swansea, do........
-
Michael Ball suggesting that Allardyce needs to take some responsibility and I am amazed that he is the only person I have heard do it in the media. I am also amazed at any Evertonian that wants him to stay until the end of the season. He is embarrassing us, clearly out of his depth and cannot motivate the players. His character is draining the life out of this football club.

Was he also just blaming those who actually got a game ... like Sam pretty much ?.
Easy to point the finger when not involved ....tbh Id have expected more camaraderie off Rooney.
Why would be think it's right to pile on? .
-
Rooney spoke to the players at HT and told them they had to try to salvage some pride and win the 2nd half.
Obviously the team wasnt the best but the players efforts were still poor and the goals very soft.

Not defending Allardyce but we were more than embarrassing before he rolled into town

He was supposed to be comming in to stop the rot though and it's as rotten as ever .
His picking and chosing which games for the team to 'try' and win kicked him in the arse .imho.
Shouldn't have changed the formation or the team(aside the six million dollar man Coleman) and still hes blaming players.
-
Not defending Allardyce but we were more than embarrassing before he rolled into town
Yes but the way he represents us with what he says is embarrassing. Like when a journalist mentioned our pursuit of Silva and he pointed out that Silva got Hull relegated and he has never been. Why he feels the need to bite like that, is because he is a thin skinned narcissist and any attempts to think about himself in less than glowing terms gets repelled elsewhere, generally into the players. That, in itself, is cancerous to the squad.
-
What else is he gonna say
Erm.
Or, you know.

Not disagreeing with you at all , I think there are plenty of cancers within the squad irrespective of who manages them
-
Go on Sam, keep talking, keep digging a hole, keep saying completely inappropriate things to the media. The press love a story so they'll keep pushing, keep pricking his ego, keep looking for him to open that big mouth of his to defend his misguided notion that he's blameless. You just have to hope he runs his mouth off too much and gives us an excuse to relieve him of his duties without paying him off. Unlikely but we can dream.
-
Not disagreeing with you at all , I think there are plenty of cancers within the squad irrespective of who manages them
Yes, but nobody is looking for sound bites from Morgan Schneiderlin. If a player becomes cancerous, they will probably get dropped, if it’s the manager, the whole squad becomes disillusioned. Sooner this no mark is out of our club the better.
-
Rooney:
"A manager can do so much, set you up and give you a gameplan but as a group of players you need to go out on the pitch, make decisions and take ownership."
-
As an aside he's not aged well at all has he Rooney. Looks at least 10 years older than his age.
-
Surely the Board can see how embarrassing this is? Can they possibly be this dense?

My issue with it is how little we even looked like Swansea! The game I watched they pressed them to death and forced mistakes. Ozil was filling in his tax returns on the way way through our midfield he had so much time.
Xhaka looked like the kind of midfielder that if you put it on his toes will switch off and I don’t know, maybe a certain tenacious scouse cm with beautiful blonde locks may have been able to Clucas the fuck out of him but he left him on the bench!

I would imagine Moshiri doesn't want us to have 4 managers in one season; not until we are mathematically safe at least.
Once we are safe, I reckon we will announce Sam is leaving at the end of the season, with a thank you for keeping us up, and we are bringing Marco Silva in on a 3 or 4 year deal.
