That can't be true. Any Watford player is a non-starter* no matter how much they liked working with Silva.

I would assume Brands and Silva know this.

* unless we're willing to pay considerably more than they're worth, which would be stupid

Phantom bid ? Or bullshit you decide, no way on God's earth are Watford going to sell anyone to us after Silva.

Pretty much what I was going to say

We'd have to pay double the fee of any other club for one of their players such is their animosity towards us

Completely pointless even bothering bidding

It's a good laugh to piss them off though

It's not true, is it? They should've put 'by the way, this is defo made up' in brackets after the headline.

I hope we don’t unsettle him to the point where he downs tools and hands in a transfer request

Think we're just going to unsettle Watford from now on. It would be funny.

Unless it’s posturing from watfords owner.

I do quite like the look of doucore, I like a cm who can go through the gears and power up the pitch. He’s scored and set up goals as well.

However, there’s question marks over him like, no denying it. Feels a bit like the Gylfi sitch in that we’ll end up having a bitter taste over a genuinely good player that we’ve foolishly payed way over the odds for.

Did we ever have to pay them for Silva?

Disappointingly normal sentence structure. Must do better.

Brief and to the point - no need to waffle or waste time

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line

Are you trying to communicate with him in his own language? Fascinating stuff.

It’s like Enemy Mine or summat.

It's an interview he's done in the Watford Observer

It's an interview he's done in the Watford Observer

Indeed, but I'll just leave this bit here

“I am very happy to stay here and have a great season with Watford. Of course we will see what happens in the summer but for now I am really happy with my new deal and I made a good choice.”

Not exactly crying out an unhappy player itching to move asap in January

Here's the whole thing:

Abdoulaye Doucoure says he is happy to have committed his future to Watford, but admits a move away in the future remains a possibility.

     23
The French midfielder was linked with a summer switch to Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur before putting pen to paper on a five-year deal at Vicarage Road.

While it seems unlikely Doucoure will see out the duration of that deal should his form remain consistently impressive, the 25-year-old’s immediate focus is on Watford.

“I was linked to maybe leave the club but I was always committed to Watford and I think the ambition with the club is like mine, “Doucoure said.

“I am very happy to stay here and have a great season with Watford. Of course we will see what happens in the summer but for now I am really happy with my new deal and I made a good choice.”

Having won the club’s Player of the Season award last term, Doucoure will once again be a central figure for the Hornets.

Doucoure is aiming to match the showings he put in during 2017/18 as he looks to help the Hornets make an impression further up the Premier League table.

He said: “I am happy to stay in Watford. We are a very good team and we have a good thing here.

“I want to be one of the best players in Watford and want to take the team as high up as possible.”

All depends where Watford are come Christmas (four months is a long time in football!). He has not ruled out wanting away and Watford, well aware that Silva rates him, by extending Doucoure's contract will demand Everton pay a premium in return for "turning Silva's head".

There is more than one way to skin a cat or in this instance, receive "compensation"

Probably unlikely, but Lookman could be used as bait should he seek a return near London

He's not worth the fuss.

We can do better.
