I doubted Beckford when we got him, thought he'd get maybe 5 or 6 goals this season, but I think he's becoming our Andy Cole. Needs many chances, but will always score one of them.

Heroic performance out there today, shame it counts for nought.

It's games like this that make us really believe we can challenge right at the top, we just need to figure out how to play like this against the lesser teams and how to get off to a good start to a season.

Arteta and Beckford in particular promising and hopefully they can carry on this form into next season.

For me, it sums up what could have been.

We need a striker to partner Beckford next season, good left and right wingers and we should be set. If that means selling one of Rodwell, Fellaini or Arteta, then so be it.
