The premier league. Although I already know there's people who disagree with my reasoning.

Simply put, I think if you made a league of 40 that combined the two, and relegated the bottom 20, you'd see more English teams survive. Our league is more demanding, and I think as a whole the teams are better. Barcelona are probably the best team out of the two leagues, but I feel that the 2nd, 3rd and 4th best are the English top 3. I also rate spurs, city, and the shite above Valencia and the like.
Oh well, at least Baines is still ace.

Leagues that have Johnny Heitinga in them and those that don't.

PL wins hands down.

La Liga as a whole. The Sky 4 have distorted peoples views, they may have done very well in the Champions league, but look at the Europa league? English clubs have been embarrasing.

Murray won't ever win a slam. Mentally not good enough

It's impossible to judge properly.

I think there's a lot of myth that people buy in to on both sides - stuff about our league being "tougher" without actually defining what that means is a particular argument that I see a lot of without any substance.  I also think that the likes of Sevilla and Valencia are massively under-rated by English fans as well - these are teams that are proven quality and for me are only bettered by the top 3 here in England, and even then the gap is not huge.  ILB's point about the comparitive success of teams in the UEFA Cup is a decent barometer really.

There are some very poor teams at the bottom of La Liga, but likewise does it not say something about the standard of the Premier League when 3 teams out of Pompey, Hull, Burnley, Wolves, Wigan and West Ham will be staying up this season?  Not to mention the fact that a team as limited as Stoke can manage the relative success that they do.

It really isn't possible to call this one in favour of either side, but it is an interesting debate as long as we stay away from cliches.

At the end of the day, you're both there or thereabouts.

It appears the upper hand, is on the other foot.

At the end of the day it's a game of two halves and you can't win them all.
