With him out for a bare minimum of 6 weeks but likely to be longer- breaking your fibula takes a while to heal regardless of age- and him then needing time to get back to fitness; will Spain look to replace him? If so, who is next in line? Does Arteta stand a chance?

It certainly won't harm his chances, so who knows.
Andres Iniesta was injured yesterday too, no idea how serious it is though.

This should spur Mikel on, playing well is the first factor in getting picked.

Probably two or three knowing his/our luck.  Even if Arteta was fit and ready to go, he'd be overlooked for some random jobber.

And Fabregas is a cunt.

no chance. Still have Alonso, Busquests, Senna, Xavi, Iniesta in front of him! Pique can play there too.
Murray won't ever win a slam. Mentally not good enough

Bluenose 91

Outside chance of making the squad.  It would take a few more serious injuries for him to get anywhere near the first eleven.

Would agree with bluenose and ILB although I think he is being overlooked as he is at least on a par with the likes of Fabregas at his best.
