One of my best mates has just had this blog published on the Guardian's website, and as a good friend I thought I would plug it here!

He is a Leeds fan so no doubt made sure he could reference a couple of ex Leeds players in there!

I don't mind when football and music mix like this, original songs with football references in.  I do however hate it when I hear 'Ooooh Kevin Mirallllassss' to the tune of Seven Nation Army. Quickly becoming the least original tune to sing a football song to ever!

Can anyone think of any other football references in songs?
You think Lou Bega knocked it out of the park with Mambo number 1?!No but he kept at it!

Almost everything from HMHB ("So, you're Brad Friedel, I'm mildly impressed.")

But particularly:

Half Man Half Biscuit - Friday Night And The Gates Are Low

And of course:

Half Man Half Biscuit - The Referee's Alphabet
I didn't even remember I had a signature.

Also "Fearless" from Pink Floyd has a bunch of kopites chanting their cheesy song.
