Agree on Stones. Would've been nice to see him play a bit more, but can understand RMs reasons for keeping our main defenders together and we can't afford to risk needless points. Also going out of the Carling Cup has probably cost him a few more appearances.

I'm also quite excited about Alcaraz, and hoping he can stay injury free. Said this elsewhere, but Wigan fans have often said 'if you think McCarthy is good, wait til you see Alcaraz play'.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

Love RM's transfer window quotes from the pre-match conference. The options are out there to improve without spending a great deal.

The team picks itself, really, with the only questions being the fitness of Distin and Baines. Ready replacements if they are unavailable, as well.

Yeah there really is no point in keeping hold of Heitinga is there, glad we're moving him on. Hopefully Stones will get a look in, he's versatile too so could play at RB although I think CB is where we should judge him. Be interestng if it goes to Pens in the cup and he steps up after the Juve one he took!

Ha yeah, if he does it again in the cup then Stones will be appropriate as he will have a pair of them to be proud of!

We think about all the players having to play 4 games in 12 days and all that, but no one's given a thought to Shogun whose had to produce the pre match stats so frequently.

It appears it's taken its toll on him somewhat, and he's injured at present.

Let's raise a glass to Shogun for all the stats he's posted.

Let's give him some pain killing injections so he can fucking get on with it ;)

I think Kone could do with some festive spirit.

We could learn a lot about our credentials from this fixture. It could be tricky, and we are running a little thin on numbers, but we should have enough in our locker to get a result.  If we are going to really challenge for a top four place, we need to grind results out consistently against the so called weaker teams.

We tripped up against Sunderland, bounced back against Southampton, this fixture could go any way, confident we can pull a result if we take it to them and don't let them dominate our midfield like Southampton did to an extent.

Not expecting a pretty game tbh, and Mark Hughes is a cunt.

Lots of Muslims celebrate Christmas. Jesus is a hugely significant prophet in Islam.

Your ignorance knows no bounds. Nice to see you've started 2014 in the same spirit.
