I would line up like this:

         Howard

Hibbert Stones Alcaraz Oveido

          McCarthy Barry

McGeady Osman Mirallas

            Vellios

There should be enough in that team to beat Stevenage, while giving important players more time to recover and rest ahead of the derby.

If Stones is going to play in the derby I think I'd rather have him getting a game at RB in this to get his eye in.

Vellios just seems to be so far off selection - remember he was way behind Jelavic and he was sparingly used - that I'd be very surprised if he was picked to start this.

I was going, it now looks like I am not going :(

Stones in at RB would be ideal prep for the derby, I hope we dont see Oviedo trying to play Right Mid again

Simply simply lovely

It's a shame we can't give one of Barry and McCarthy a rest. They both looked like they needed one last night at times.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

I would have Hibbert in at RB simply because we can't afford for Stones to pick up an injury. I know people panic and want us to play a strong side but against Stevenage eleven decent Premier League players should be good enough to do the job. Would be up for resting as many as we can.

Something like this maybe?if you offered me a 1-0 win and no injuries right now I'd take it
You think Lou Bega knocked it out of the park with Mambo number 1?!No but he kept at it!

Some first team players will be playing though.

If Stones had played reasonably regularly at RB in the past year or so I wouldn't be overly worried.

Would think that's pretty likely depending on how McGeady is.

(Also would have thought he'd be on the left)

I'd probably rather lose than take a replay here.

We looked so tired at the moment, and injuries means we can't really rotate.

Things will look better in a months time with the signings in and Barkley back

its mad that we looked tired after a decent break. Maybe too many late nights down Veronicas last week :)

No chance.

I'd much rather take an extra game and still be in the cup.

Yes we look tired but I'd put that down to not playing well.

If you're keeping the ball well then there's less labouring after the opposition, you're closer to each other so moves look sharper etc.

This is the most important game as it's next. Never mind next week. We do not have the squad to rotate

Although I think some rotation against a League 1 side is ok, some respect must be shown.

We can't afford to throw away the chance of winning the Cup.
