Glad the Derbys out the way and I can regain my lost karma by not being an irrational goat. Massive game, can't really afford to lose. I'm confident it will give us the kick up the backside we've needed since  Xmas

2-0

I'd expect Traore to make his debut as he had an outside chance for the derby. He could be a revelation and given Lukaku's slump in form this could prove a silver lining. We need a talisman and hopefully if he settles in we could build some momentum, week by week as players gain match sharpness again. Hopefully the injured players will not suffer burn out at the end of the season as a result and we can go on a role again.

Let's win this and get right back in the mix. Still hurting about yesterday but our season is far from over.

Well done Shogs, for getting this thread up promptly. I'm delighted to be able to think about the next game, rather than the previous and I'm glad to escape the derby related over-reaction/hysteria stuff.

Obviously the fitness of some key players will be important in this game, but I fully expect us to win this game. Our dressing room's professionalism is beyond question, and I imagine a lot of the lads will be hurting and wanting to get the season back on track.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

We beat Villa this season.

And last season.

The last time they beat us I think was when Luke Young scored which must have been awhile ago now. We just seem to draw them almost every time we play.

They're in a tight and cagey game at the minute.

They are awful in defence, need Distin back though to help out in the air and with their pace.

We beat Villa this season.

I should have been clearer. I meant when was the last time we beat Villa at home in the league. I remember beating them in enroute to the cup final in 09.

Fucking hell didn't realise it was that long. I was in a state at that match, early Saturday kickoff, I hadn't slept from the night before.

Seem to remember villa only bringing about 800 fans.

So did the shite. That said, think we'll score and win by a couple.

Distin, Coleman Traore all definitely out so looks like derby lineup with Naismith for lukaku

That's a bit concerning considering Villa will play on the counter like Liverpool. Hopefully the likes of Jags, Pienaar and Alcaraz will be a bit fitter and sharper than on their last outing.
