Yeah, when you consider the distance the away fans in both Palace and Sunderland's case had travelled. You'd think they could have got a fairly accurate weather situation about 3pm? It's the right decision from a safety point of view but ironically the message is not to travel in the area, yet there are 30-40k fans all out in this weather because the decision wasn't made earlier.

People would have just moaned that it was getting called off to early at 3.

They played it right in my opinion.

Maybe at the time they would, looking at it now people would have realised it was the correct call.

That's a fair point. Those 30-40k who are out wandering the streets are no safer now that the game has been called off. In fact you could argue that they are in more danger!
