Would not usually want Everton to batter my home town club (am as equally proud of being an Everonian as I am a Cardiffian) but we need a statement and I can take the piss out of my City mates with a thumping.

I think the home games against city, arsenal and manure are all winnable. None of them are playing really well at the minute

No he wasnt. Why would we drop Howard when playing against United?

I seem to remember that although he had signed for us United forced an unwritten clause into the contract that he could not play in the next game against them. At the time someone called it a gentleman's agreement.

That was the game where Turner played - we were 2-0 up and he had a mare in the second half and we lost 4-2 - Phil Neville notched his first og for us.

Such agreements were later made illegal and there was even talk at one stage of United losing the points for enforcing the clause if I remember rightly.

Yeah he'd been on loan but then we made it permanent during the season.

I think even if the score line isn't massive that I'd like to see us at least playing like we might hammer someone.

Yeah we need to look like we're getting back on form otherwise the season will just fizzle out I think.

Spurs looked awful last night, really bereft of confidence until they scored late on. A win would out the pressure on them before a big derby
