No such thing as a free.

Quote
Swansea will have to pay 8m in signing-on fees to striker Bafetimbi Gomis, 29, if he leaves the club this month. Gomis joined Swansea on a Bosman free transfer in the summer and the Welsh club agreed to pay him an 8 million signing-on fee, payable over his four-year contract.

8 fucking million.

When people say look at bosmans because they are free it's just not true because they are free players and agents definitely demand more money than if a fee was being paid for them.

Any player that is actually "good" that's on a Bosman has deliberately run down their contract to be in that exact situation.

They will still be cheaper than if a fee had to be paid (and a lesser signing on fee) but there'll be sizeable fees paid in other ways as this Gomis story hints at.

Really quiet window isnt it?

Apart from Wilfred Bony to Man City, that striker who joined Leicester, Kyle Naughton joining Swansea, Elia joining Southampton on loan, I can't really think of any other significant moves this window.

People are getting less and less keen to sell players or lose players and people don't want to just splash cash around anymore to convince people to sell. So unless a player is desperate to leave, a club wants to sell or teams are desperate to get some players in not that much happens. Us like most clubs would rather wait until the summer for many reasons if they can do.

It usually is, they should just make it a week long. Despite the myth that we're the only ones to always leave it until the last minute to "save wages" etc, most clubs do exactly the same even the far wealthier clubs.

Unsurprisingly after last years dildos and rubber dolls Sky are binning their live deadline day broadcasts from outside the grounds and training grounds and will be either pre recording transfer rumours or be inside away from the numpties.

Great news...watching a bunch of twats pretending to be exited behind a reporter who clearly wasn't comfortable with any of it didn't make for good viewing.
I'll assume you have been drinking... I live in Monterrey Mexico numb nuts

Remember Royston Drenthe?

Well he's joined a Turkish club called er...Kayseri Erciyesspor

Apparently the Reading fans seemed very glad to see the back of him: http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reading-fc-goodbye-royston-drenthe-8519795

It was probably the Stoke fans shagging their sisters in the background that took it too far. :)

The whole Sky OB on deadline day always reminded me of Swap Shop when they'd go to Chegwin on a Saturday morning in Middlesbough or somewhere surround by a hundred odd 10-13 year olds smoking and necking cans of special brew.
There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch.
