Deserved to win that, gutting to lose and gutted for Robles who was motm for me, closely followed by Mirallas. Looking at the bigger picture though, the team will take major confidence from that performance which will hopefully see us improve in the league, not being in the cup will hopefully help in this regard too. Onwards and upwards blues!
"Sunday Bloody Sunday. What a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it? You wake up in the morning, you've got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you've got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think "Sunday, bloody Sunday!"- Alan Partridge

I agree that the ref was poor, but they should've had a pen too.

That was never handball.

This is the most gutted I've felt for ages. It always feels worse when you so clearly deserve to get something.

We were much better tonight, can't do anything once it goes to pens, but wasn't happy at all with their equaliser.

More positives than anything though.
Robles was fantastic. Hope we start to see the best of him now he's had a run. Barry was excellent, looked like his last season's self. Mirallas and Lukaku were outstanding. No one had a bad game in that second half and other than that fucking corner we defended brilliantly. Oviedo was a good addition as well, he's a very clever footballer.

I just pray to God that they take confidence from that performance.

We need better than McGeady and Barkley really needs to pull his finger out, it looked as though he didn't even bother to try as soon as he saw he was coming off. Not good enough that.

West Brom is a fucking massive game, my arse is going for it already.

One plus point to come out of tonite is I think the diamond in midfield that was forced on us, suited us really well, and with 11 men we could have 2 up front using it.
Martinez still got lots of questions to answer for me though as I dont think we'd have got the performance we did from 11 men, but thats an arguement for another day

I was beginning to think our name was on it after downings miss, 20 years since we last won the F.A cup, where we also faced Bristol in the 4th round.

It's just never meant to be for us is it, where did it all go wrong.

Joel was probably our best tonight, but I can't say I have too much confidence in him stopping penalties, he dives before they shoot everytime

He is young though, he can work on that.

Ross can't seem to get into the games at the minute. Gives away the ball far too often. Thought Roberto should have taken off Barry rather than Besic at the time, but getting the draw was good from the position we were in. Stupidity out of Mcgeady though. Not much contact though, but idiotic all the same. Thought they should have got a few more yellow cards too. How many fouls had Carroll without a card.
