Arsenal are set to host Everton this weekend and come into this fixture on the back of consecutive 3-0 victories in the Premier League with Bayern Munich to visit in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. Arsenal have won each of their last three premier league fixtures and have scored 11 goals in the process with six of those goals coming from Alexis Sanchez and the Gunners only conceding twice in that period. Arsenal have tasted success recently over Everton with victory during pre-season in July with Theo Walcott among the goalscorers in Singapore. Walcott has scored 12 goals and grabbed three assists in his last 15 premier league starts. Arsenal have only scored five goals in their opening four league matches at the Emirates but those have all come in their last two home fixtures with a 2-0 victory over Stoke and 3-0 versus Manchester United.

This will be the 15th meeting in total between Arsene Wenger and Roberto Martinez and that will mean Wenger will have faced Martinez on more occasions than any other manager. Unsurprisingly, the stats are overwhelmingly in Arsenal's favour who have won eight of the 14 matches, though they've only actually won six of 12 league meetings which is perhaps less than expected. Martinez has beaten Arsenal on three separate occasions and they have all came in different stadiums and James McCarthy has started in each of those victories. Arsenal's have only lost one of their last 16 Premier League matches against Everton (W9 D6) and haven't lost at home to an Everton side since 1996 when goals from Graham Stuart and Andrei Kanchelskis cancelled out Ian Wright's opener in a 2-1 victory at Highbury.
Possible Line-Ups
Everton
Everton go into this match in somewhat patchy form following their second defeat of the season at home to Manchester United last weekend. The Toffees have taken eight points from their four away fixtures this season and are one of four sides yet to lose an away match in the premier league (West Ham, Leicester, Southampton) whilst no side has conceded fewer goals on the road (2). Everton have created 78 chances this season in the Premier League which is the seventh lowest in the league whilst Arsenal have created more chances than any other side (141). Everton and Arsenal have each committed 83 fouls this season which is the joint lowest in the Premier League and only Swansea (123) and Chelsea (121) have been awarded more freekicks than Everton (116). Everton are still the only team yet to score from a set piece in the league.

What you can see above is solid proof that statistics mean very little. Tim Howard has made the joint most saves per game (3.33) of all goalkeepers to have made nine appearances this season and only Leicester City's Kaspar Schmeichel (4) has conceded more goals than Howard from corner kicks (3). Statistics show that Howard has made just one punch in the Premier League this season which is the joint lowest whilst he's come to claim the ball successfully 34 times which is the second highest in the league. Howard also boasts the best pass succession among the goalkeepers who have started every match this season but he also averages the shortest pass distance by some margin (Howard - 26m, Fabianski - 31m, Ruddy - 37m, Butland - 44m).
