Been to Goodison 7 times this season ,including Villareal , and only seen us win once. Can't get there today so we're bound to run riot 4-1  :hail:
We are special ,we are Everton.

This is a big opportunity to put our season back on track and to set ourselves up nicely for the run of games we've got between now and the end of the year.  We're good enough to turn them over and do that if we play to our strengths from the start.

That said, I'm very worried that they're going to be launching loads of crosses in to our box and that we're going to struggle to cope with them as per recent games.

It would be really nice if we didn't concede the first goal as well.

I couldn't agree more with this.

It's well documented how we've struggled to break teams down at home, add the new manager with the expected tactics employed and it could be a long day. Let's hope we play to full potential and don't have to deal that possibility.

Happy this game is on the Friday of my working week, around midnight Oz time, the ales are going down nicely.

This interview is going to stir things up pre-match:

Howard: I don't mind the criticism because I think my body of work speaks for itself. I don't have to say a word.

Swerving this place for a few days if we don't win. Will be toxic.

Agreed.  Though we all have to remember, somehow we all pulled through last fucking winter together, somehow, someway.

Everton till we die.

Good team.

We're going to have shit load of possession today and there'll be no space to get in behind so I'd rather have Kone than Lennon on the wing. Mirallas was never going to play after how long he played midweek given his lack of game time this season.

I like Oviedo over Galloway too, recognizing that we'll need attacking full backs in this one.

Howard, though.

Everton v Sunderland (13.30) Premier League, Sky Sports 1 VM 512/502 HD, 13.00

With the hilarious demise of Tim Sherwood at Aston Villa, it was important for the Premier League to maintain its quota of managers who refer to themselves in the third person. Sam Allardyce was so delighted for Sam Allardyce when Sam Allardyce's Sunderland beat Sam Allardyce's former club Newcastle last week that Sam Allardyce might consider adding another smug chapter to Sam Allardyce's book. Even Sam Allardyce, though, is surely quietly aware that Sam Allardyce's Sunderland were woeful prior to the game-changing refereeing decision and Sam Allardyce will have all on keeping Sam Allardyce's team up if they continue to play like this against less hapless opposition and with less favourable officials starting here at Everton.

Sunderland XI: Pantilimon, Yedlin, Brown, Coates, Jones, Cattermole, M'Vila, Van Aanholt, Johnson, Fletcher, Defoe.

Might be 3 at the back for them.

No Browning in the squad, even.
