Everton will pay tribute to the victims of the tragic events last weekend in Paris by playing La Marseillaise, the French national anthem, ahead of today’s kick-off against Aston Villa.

The thoughts of everybody connected to the Club are with the families and friends of the victims and also the people of Paris.

Supporters are reminded that all handbags and backpacks will be searched prior to entry to the stadium. Random selective searching will also apply as normal.

Search dogs will be deployed around the stadium.

As always, supporters should remain vigilant and report any concerns to the nearest steward.

The players of both teams will wear black armbands as a mark of respect and solidarity with those affected by last weekend’s Paris tragedy.

I went to all 3 League cup games.....so upset at Old Trafford.

Nicholl 50 yard shut your eyes and welly it special, Little last minute, 3-2, fuck! Latchford did the same thing for us though didn't he and if Roger had put it in the other net....

I was on the dole and skint at the time so had to suffer via black and white telly. Any tales to tell from the three match experience mate?

What a shit world we live in where this type of thing has to be done before a football match.

Villa are a weird team.  The Villa fans I know are pretty much sound, but the Villa fans you experience at the game[Or even worse getting the same train as them] are even more knuckle-dragging Neanderthals than Stoke's fans.  The accent definitely doesn't help.  I'd love for them to be relegated, possibly even more so than when Newcastle went down.
Cordiali saluti, motherfuckers.

I enjoy learning more about historical, secondary hatreds.  Makes my soul feel good.

No Baines on the bench; in fact no defenders on the bench at all.

So I assume McCarthy is the backup fullback and Barry the backup center half.  NOBODY GET HURT!!  Especially in the first half, as I am sure RM wants to ease Clev back into action.
