I always wonder what happened to some players when their careers slow down, one that always springs to mind is Roy Makaay. I used to love him at Deportivo then I lost track of him.

Any others come to your minds..?

Yann M'vila. Looked like he'd go on to be one of the best midfielders around before fucking it up. Didn't disappear but playing for Sunderland is as good as.

Also Breno at Bayern a few years ago. Highly promising young centre back got injured and then banged up for an insurance scam which saw him burn down his own house lolol

While we're on the subject of old school Depor, throw Juan Carlos Valeron and Diego Tristan into the mix. Incredible players.
