I'd rather change Martinez and the way we play than lose Lukaku. We will amazingly well to get as good a finisher as him. Our track record hasn't exactly been great.
Definitely.  Absolutely change the way we play.  Its criminal how isolated he's being left and asked to play 90 mins every game.

I've not said he's shit.  I've not questioned his class or potential.  All I've said is that losing him with the money we'll get isn't a cue for automatic relegation.

since i have been following everton, I can remember,
Young (barely)
Royle
Latchford
Sharp
Gray.

who I class as top strikers, and Lukaku IMO,can become better than all, except young. and when you think that time period is over 50 fucking years, the total lack of top strikers at our club is shocking. yet our fans think he is not good enough. FUCK OFF!

I dread to think what will follow, Niasse? Kone?

That Gary Lineker bloke was pretty damn good too

Using Kev as an "impact sub" is the right way to go.  And most managers wouldn't put up with his shit at all.  He ALWAYS sucks as a starter.

1 season, and we played better without him.
I'm the "trophy husband" from the game my wife regrets playing.

Losing Jags is a big big loss. He's been holding a lot of our shit defending together with nothing more than experience. I don't think we should expect anything from here on in.

As it stands we have dropped to 14th on goal difference. Martinez will say the margins are small.

I agree but the difference for me is those other strikers played in a team, so they didn't have to special in that sense, just good in the team and able to do their jobs... barring Young I guess. He was special.
