Ross Barkley is not "bulky" in the slightest

I think he does look a bit too heavy which is costing him half a yard of pace.

He defo is. He's just gone a bit too far with the weights, as brap says. It's reduced his mobility a bit but it's easily addressed.

Flat chest, no shoulders, skinny arms, thin legs.

Please give me one area of the lads figure that looks "bulky" because I can't see one.

EDIT: Here's one from the other week at the semi too.

Not an ounce of unnecessary "bulk" to be seen at all. The lad weighs no more than 13 stone and that's being generous.

Let me get this straight, are we genuinely analysing Barkley's figure? :)

Well yeah because he's being criticised for something that's simply not true.

The lad may have gained a stone from the beginning of last year, I don't know and I can't be arsed to check but let's remember that his body is still growing naturally even without weights.

He's got a proper fat ass.

So has Mirallas, and Baines, and jags.

Like proper stick out bums.

Interesting insight into your thoughts there...

I'm not saying he's fat, I think he's too muscular (although he does have a big arse as Ram says). He just needs to do a bit more cardio and become a bit more lithe, which I would hope a new manager will realise instantly.

I know what you're saying but I'm saying that there is zero excess muscle on his body because he looks like an upright ironing board.

Fair enough. We disagree.

I'm honestly curious as to where you see unnecessary muscle on his frame?

My deal with Barkley is NOT about weight loss, it's just that he needs to focus less on strength/bulk and more on fine motor agility.  I seriously would have him doing yoga and/or ballet in the offseason.

I don't know what you want from me. It's just an impression I (and plenty of others) have of him. He doesn't look as quick or as lithe in his movements to me, and when I look at him stood next to other players, I do think he looks a bit too bulky for a footballer's ideal body type.
