I'm not advocating 60k and empty seats. I'm saying all the forward thinking clubs in the country are aiming for stadia that facilitates those sort of numbers and all the amenities they entail. For the past two and half years we've been hearing about how we need to bridge this divide, well part of that is portraying ourselves as as close to equals to them off the pitch as possible. This still leaves us lagging massively behind and who knows where these other clubs will be in 4/5 years when we get into BMD. Even Wolves, a club just up from years in the championship, are planning to have a 50k+capacity stadium soon.
Will be interesting to see the years figures if they are realeased properly to see what the proportion of revenue is generated by seat.I think we’d probably get better growth out of higher league positions, European runs, signing international toothbrush partners and the like, comparable shirt sponsor and manufacturing deals etc.
See it's stuff like this. Yes they've done sums etc but they don't know that the amount of people they say will turn up, will turn up. Every year. The club will have a much better idea re the likelihood of people who go to 2/3 games per season turning into season ticket holders etc.
There are already touts with season tickets, there are permanently three seats together in UG on Stub Hub at inflated prices.
Just had a look on Stub Hub Bournmouth game, there are blocks of 8,9, and 10 all over the place ?
Makes perfect sense and should satisfy all parties.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46889290
