This has kicked off tonight, watching the opening game on Eurosport now - Angola 2-0 Mali just coming up to half time.

Decentish game, started off scrappy but Angola have looked decent going forward.  Bizarrely Seydou Keita was left on the bench for Mali but was put on after about 30 minutes.

I still can't find a highlights show anywhere. And they're on Eurosport, but they don't seem to be showing the whole games. When I clicked on the info for this one it said that it lasted 60 minutes...
Oh well, at least Baines is still ace.

Well I didn't watch the 2nd half as I had some stuff to sort out, but the final score was 4-4!  Sounds like a belter.

Angola 4-0 up until the 79th minute when Mali scored their first. Scored their second on 88 minutes and two more in injury time, what a game to kick off the tournament!

Angola must be kicking themselves. Well, they couldn't have been kicking the ball by then anyway...

Absolute shocker, it was like a kids game, the Mali keeper aint much better, check out this balls up in the game v Egypt last week.

Comedy goalkeeping is part of the fun of watching it anyway!

There's some decent players come from Africa, but there's some real shitters. I saw the the Orlando Pirates against Kiaser Chiefs when I was in South Africa, it was like watching a pub league game. And that was the South African equivalent of Chelsea V Man Utd.

Don't get me wrong, that was about 15 years ago, and the standard of football has got better since then.

There are some very good African players now, you only have to have a look at the Ivory Coast's team to see that.

I hate stereotyping but the comments about keepers in Africa are right, even if the Angolan keeper is Portuguese.  The only good African keeper I can think of is Kameni of Cameroon (who is an excellent keeper), but otherwise there are some shockers getting a game.

I remember a goalie in the 80's. Thomas N'komo (sp) his name was, I think he was from Cameroon. Great goalie. Other than that, it's no great surprise that not to many of them make at decent European level.
