I highly doubt the offer was near £8 million.

How has
I never believed for a second that we would have got 8 for him anyway.

You have not proved 8m would of been good. I know Saha will turn it around .He need to be injury free and totally match fit.He camecloe last night against a stubborn Bolton and clearly is not 100% match fit. Don't be so hasty.

He simply doesn't offer as much to the team as the Yak.

To be fair, he does always look like he might score and I think that persuades Moyes to use him more than he probably deserves. Especially so since February.

Maybe if he had Pienaar behind him as the link striker he'd perform better, as the extra skill and movement would compliment his more direct forward play.

He and Cahill basically get in each others way.

There's no chance of Cahill not playing though, so to me it's a fairly easy choice to make. The Yak should start.

Saha was worth retaining. I'm just sorry we didnt let Arsenal follow up on their interest in Jagielka.

Last season, teams received 16m for winning the title. With TV rights both domestic and overseas, the money is pumped up a lot ( probably to about 50m for Chelsea).

•Chelsea - £16,000,000
•Manchester United - £15,200,000
•Arsenal - £14,400,000
•Totenham Hotspur - £13,600,000
•Manchester City - £12,800,000
•Aston Villa - £12,000,000
•Liverpool - £11,200,000
•Everton - £10,400,000
•Birmingham - £9,600,000
•Blackburn - £8,800,000
•Stoke - £8,000,000
•Fulham - £7,200,000
•Sunderland - £6,400,000
•Bolton - £5,600,000
•Wolves - £4,800,000
•Wigan - £4,000,000
•West Ham - £3,200,000
•Burnley - £2,400,000
•Hull - £1,600,000
•Portsmouth - £800,000

I'm sure if it was £8m Everton would have taken it.

This isnt true.
Since Rooney its clear to see that "Everton" dont have a choice in "taking it".
Sales are down to Mr Moyes whereas Purchases are down to "Everton".
this is the current system aka "If ya dont have any cash Billy-boy then il still stay just dont sell my players"

Who would we get to replace him for 8m?

Probably Jermaine Beckford a year earlier. With the other seven million going to fuel rumors that led to little more than a series of ten-page threads on players we were never going to get?
Everton forever.

You could be right, but don't you think Moyes is a businessman? Do you think he would have given Saha a 2 year contract if he could have sold him for £8 million? Moyes could get 2 or 3 players with that kind of cash.

Is it me or is Louiis looking more left footed than I remember him being? I thought Arsenal's defence did a nice job of forcing him onto his right time after time to very postive effect
