FIFA have really shown what interests them: MONEY.

The Russian choice does have it's merits, as the World Cup has never been in Eastern Europe, but the Qatar choice is plainly daft.

Once again it doesnt matter who has the best stadiums, fans, infrastructure, passion .It matters not we INVENTED the game. All the matters is how many back-handers and bungs you can stuff into sepp blatters and co's grubby little piggy trotters, and in that case not many nations can compete with russia...
its not were your from, its were your at

you can at least understand russia getting the nod, bribes or no bribes, because they haven't staged it before

but qatar? i don't suppose they will, but i'd hope that a lot of countries boycott this desert delight, and bring fifa down. fucking joke.

The Qatar world cup must be some sort of joke, but I haven't heard Sepp deliver the punch line.
"There are no desperate situations, only desperate people."
"When we have lost everything, including hope, life becomes a disgrace, and death a duty"
"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed, and third, it is accepted as self-evident."

what fucking fix bullshit qatar 2022

They had a far better bid.

EDIT: Some of you need to get a fucking grip and actually look at what they outlined in their bid.

But hey, far easier to stomp your feet and scream fix 'till someone pays attention eh?

I thought it'd be Russia, as it seems that if you are actually ready to host the World Cup (stadia, infrastructure) you immediately don't qualify. Qatar is the real surprise, I thought it would be Australia.

We're never ever going to get it with Blatter and co in charge though so this is far from surprising.

how? just because they are going to build 10 new stadiums

the current population is 1.5 million, it gets to almost 50 degrees in july, there are laws like women cant watch matches at the ground (all tho i dont know if thats 100% true) cant drink apart from some hotels which charge crazy as prices

how can a population of 1.5 million cope with the 10s of thousands of tourists that will be going there?

dont get me wrong the stadiums that they are going to build will be sick but its the other factors which should of mean a victory for the USA/Australia/Korea/Japan

also what happens to Israel now?

"The population of Qatar on September 13th 2009 was 1,409,000, and a population of 907,229 on October 9th 2010.
The population of Qatar on December 2nd 2010 is approximately 865,415."

at this rate of decline the country will be empty of people well before 2022

there'll be a lot of empty houses/flats to use though

Things to consider about Qatar:

Heat in the summer months. It's a desert. How are they going to deal with 40-50 degrees celsius?
Clothing and alcoholism?
Public displays of affection?
LGBT???

What if Israel qualify?  i can't see how Qatar could ban them from coming and not be stripped of the world cup, there are countres who have the facilities to host the tournament.  But I wouldn't want to be an Israeli player or fan in Qatar to be honest.
