Fair enough.

But Moshiri had been there longer.
Koeman and Walsh had both actually had jobs before.

It's not synchronised swimming is it? It doesn't actually take coordination above and beyond -
Koeman: "I want this guy"
Walsh: "Farhad, do we have the money"
Moshiri: "yes"

After that they all go their seperate ways and do what needs to be done.

Don't make it out like it's some machiavellian process that can only happen after years of training in a hidden franciscan monastery up in the Alps
I think that errs towards the simplistic though.

When Martinez and Reeves left, we went from targeting Elmohamady to players like Mata, Witsel, Koulibaly etc. We missed out because we just aren't attractive enough to players of that calibre yet.

It looks like we've learned our lesson and and are going after players in the tier below. Even then, though, deals are still taking their time to complete and given Walsh was only in post for 6 weeks last summer and Koeman has generally not had to deal with this, it's probably not realistic to have expected more.
...

Can't agree. There's no need for it to have been dragged out this long is there really. It is of no surprise that people think there's a problem. And it doesn't mean people are going loopy. To all the people that believed it was because it might distract him at the u21s - seriously that's a reason?  Now we believe it's Malaga dragging their heels because it's more plausible. The reasons are what we want to believe. And as for keeping it cool, some fans were complaining that we hadn't made any signings weeks ago before we signed anyone. Can't remember who ;-)
Anyway who cares. I'll be happy when it's announced, ideally before we reach 100 pages.

Typical ally contrarianism, amounting to very little.

It hasn't been dragged out for ages. Real Madrid's pursuit of De Gea was dragged out. This has just been us signing a player and announcing it a couple of weeks later due to his tournament commitments. The rest of the chat was just people's inner angst filling a vacuum.

Yep, I'm hoping he's the new Old Man Costa.  He looks like he could be a proper wind-up merchant.

Offer more wages?

That's not gazumping the deal though. That's getting somebody to breach a contract (if a deal exists)
Gazumping relates specifically to offering a higher purchase price in-between verbal & contractual agreements
