Obviously not.

The fact that not one of their players is even slightly known suggests that they shouldn't be dominating anything against us.

They finished 4th last season.

They're obviously ok.

I saw them away at Napoli two weeks ago and they played 3 at the back, tended to sit deep, then hit it up to a target man ( :eh: ) and then bring in their wider players.

Didn't come across as a possession team but then that was away at a better side.

They were 0-1 up and could have put the game to bed but ended up losing 3-1.

we should have used the europa games to bed in our foreign players like Sandro and Klaassen, should have used dcl and davies in the high tempo prem league games..

surely Koeman knew this.

Although playing them in games that are the same speed as what they're used to isn't going to get them up to speed if the PL.

Having said that I wouldn't have played them both on Saturday as it was a risk that we'd have nothing in the central areas if they both played badly.

Amazed at the amount of people picking Sandro ahead of Rooney.

Rooney has been the most consistent attacker by quite a bit.

DCL did very well vs City but hasn't looked a massive goal threat at all.

Lookman hasn't been good enough this season to warrant a starting run of games.

If we're looking to be solid then the front 4 should be Lennon right, Rooney as 10, Sigurdsson left and DCL up front.

Other combinations are wishful thinking based on what they've done at the top level in England so far.

Doesn't it make sense that people may not have Rooney in their team due to him playing every single minute of this season and the United match coming up?

Whilst European matches are probably best for Sandro (and Klaassen) if they're to settle in.

Yeah that's fine if that's the reasoning.

It was more of a general reaction to suggestions that he shouldn't play.

Eg there's been a few mentions of him blocking Sigurdsson but he's not played as a 10 since Sigurdsson came bar at City.

Just seems to be a bit of a misconception and appreciation of what he's been doing.

He's played as the right forward mostly or if he has played as the 9 he's had at least one runner on the wings or next to him.

We've conceded 1 goal (Split away) when he's been the main striker which wasn't due to him dropping deep.
