Absolutely all the best to Gareth Barry. He's a very good role model, who gave us a lot of composure and quality when he was here. I think we do miss him under certain game conditions. I think, for example, he might have helped to steady the boat against Spurs. :)

I miss his yellow cards

According to this, he hasn't collected any this year. Doesn't he mean this season?

We're only missing him because we have failed to adequately replace him. If you put him in our side now he'd struggle as he doesn't have anyone making runs to get an early ball out to so he'd maybe buy a cheap foul, break up play, allow us to get men behind the ball and then start again. His time had come in my opinion, same as Jags' and Baines' has.

Can you elaborate some more?

Dropped? For this weekends game? So you mean 37yr old centre mid with a slight knock rested after playing most of the season?

Or Barry told to train with youth players 'dropped'?

Either way, fail to see how this reflects on Koeman

Koeman let Barry go and he cannot hold a place in a relegation outfit of which he has been part of

The 37 year old is no longer up to Premier League football - retirement beckons

The same Koeman who said at the time he didn't want to let him go but understood his reasoning. I think, at 37 years of age, he deserves a rest now and then.

I think we actually miss his quality on the ball more than anything.

Could probably do with some leadership where Schneiderlin just vacated.

He deserves a rest alright, right in the thick of a relegation battle - just when you need him, good reasoning!

We don't miss rest periods, on or off the pitch
