Canít face sitting through an hour of Elstone rabbiting on about Everton in the community and talking about a plucky win against one of the top 6.

While woods sits there pulling his angry face an Bill stays at home allegedly pretending he is too busy/sick while allegedly getting live updates via phone throughout the meeting.

Itís a circus and the whole thing especially the obsession with Everton in the community stinks of small minded club syndrome aka Kenwrightitus

Everton in the community is something we should all be very proud of and I for one think the way the club champion it is admirable. Other clubs following suit and using Evertons model for their own Community initiatives shows how good a job the board/club do. Long may it continue.  @therealdunc it seems its you with the small club syndrome.

The board should Tell me how they are gonna make us competitive to win the league and champions league, not rabbiting on about community Work like it replaces the complete lack of trophies over the past 20 odd years.

Iím sorry we are a football club first , and we need to start winning trophies again

This is a thread about the AGM

At the AGMs the club has tried to hide the failings on and off the pitch.
One of the ways this is done is by occupying the meeting with lots of stuff on Everton in the community.

Everton in the community is great, but itís not a league title or a champions league .

Some of you donít understand as you have never been to the AGM, but many who have that Iíve spoken with agree the club use the success of Everton in the community to hide the failings of the 1st team and board.

Please remember this is an AGM thread, not a general rant for some of you to make nasty hateful remarks on a subject you know nothing about .

Thank you, any questions?

No we are a business first and football is just one aspect of that business, albeit a large aspect. As with all business's PR and public conception have a huge impact on future investment and balance sheets. Just look at the shit storm that's hit h&m today, looking like a caring, charitable organisation can offset future issues to a certain degree. So it isn't small minded, its the club looking at the bigger picture, whilst helping the local community it operates in.

There's more to football, running a football club, and supporting a football club than winning trophies IMO.

there totally is

however, and it pains me to say this, I agree with @therealdunc here to an extent and feel that EitC is focused on a bit more than it could be

The focus of a football club is the success of it's first team - EVERYTHING ELSE is a distant second at best.

Last year they gave up probably 30% of the AGM time to speaking about EitC, and the only literature given out was a glossy booklet promoting their work - which is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but if a football club were a cake, then EitC would be the little bits of sugar that go on the top, not a whole layer to chew on.

anyway, not going tonight as anything that will be revealed will be revealed on Twitter and the official site either before or during the AGM, the same way the kit launches are done.

personally the best thing about Everton is its work with in the community and helping others.

how can you hate when your club is giving back to people?
Unsworth has a 100% League record at home
Norwich 3-0 15th May 2016
Watford 3-2 5th Nov 2017
West Ham 4-0 29th Nov 2017
To Be Continued.....

Yeah, I am with @therealdunc here too. We too happy being mediocre at too much and overstating what we good at which is very little.
