Now who on earth could we get to replace him?....

Rooney saying hes unhappy with how Allardyce is using him? Hopefully thats just an excuse otherwise it would signal a longer stay for Allardyce.

Hopefully this is just the start of a clearout including manager, DoF and board members.

If we had gotten Rooney 2 years ago, maybe the signing would have been worth the reported salary, but as it is, even though he is our top scorer this season, he has looked invisible for long periods of the season. I wouldn't be bothered to see him go.
Yes, we're being condescending. Yes, that means we're talking down to you.

Ridiculous signing. Ignored all the evidence and signed him on sentiment instead

Hasn't worked out as well as I thought it would, early on this season he was really good, I think we should move him on now though, the legs have truly gone now 40+ games a season since the age of 16, bound to happen

Still think its been worthwhile overall given that were not so constrained financially.

Hes started 36 games (40 apps in total) this season which has been too much; probably evidenced by him scoring a goal every other game before Christmas and none since.

Also the pattern of his substitutions has been poor.

Constantly being taken off after an hour is dumb when there are situations when hed be much more useful in the last 30 mins.

Much like the overall plans this season, theres been no proper assessment of what would be best in which situation.

Still worth bringing on off the beach or starting against lower league teams.
