Pickford is getting some ridiculous criticism from pundits. Non-goalkeepers, like Gary Neville, should keep their mouths shut. They really have no idea what they are talking about all. The suggestion that Pickford should have used his left hand to save the Belgian goal is ludicrous. Suggesting it shows a total lack of knowledge re goalkeeping.

Harsh to say he should have saved it but Pickford made a pig's ear of his attempt at the save. Going for a ball that went into the top corner and coming down head first is amateur hour stuff.

IMO very overated....shouts a lot, dives around a lot but really makes game defining interventions. Average.

Just hope he doesn't become a scapegoat should England get knocked out of the tournament later. The media do love creating a scapegoat and the last thing we want is for this to impact Pickford's form when he returns to Everton.

You can bet he will be playing for a lowly club like Everton

The lad split the defenders and bent it into the top bin.

Really don’t understand the hoo-hah. Yes he MIGHT have done better had he been a yard to his right or got up earlier or whatever, but if he had saved it it would have been a worldy save and if me aunt had bollocks she’d be me uncle so what’s the point?

Don’t mean to be bitter about it but I do feel everton players get treated differently by English media. Maybe cause we’re perennial underperformers, the players themselves get tarred with the close-but-no-cigar brush.
I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

The England keeper always gets hammered.

Pickford lucky in that he’s pretty self confident and also that he plays for a team where I’d guess over half the crowd don’t care about England and will back him even more if he gets stick for mistakes playing for them.

In the meantime Danny Rose is rated as one of the best full backs in the UK Premier League but is still wondering where Januzaj went.

Good to see Garath Southgate watching Pickfords back and defending him, stating he's our number 1 and that he starts against Colombia.  :)
Steinbeck's maxim: “Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”.
