I'm just waiting for the random HITC story to appear saying we've rejected £40m but we'll consider £50m and watch everyone's heads fall off

It's from a Spanish source originally, Don Balon, which appears to be a transfer rumour site that never offers any detail and scattergun's the shit out things.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

I find it hard to believe that any club, even Real, would sign a goalkeeper off the back of 5 saves they saw him make on the telly.

It’s probably how Walsh did his “scouting”

Its hard to believe that any team would sign a player because they had a decent world cup....

Loads of clubs use to take punts after tournaments (certainly not just us), presumably because there just weren't scouting networks in South America or Africa at that point, so you'd maybe have to go with a manager's punt after seeing him play a few times on telly.

That sort of thing shouldn't be an issue anymore. Apart from maybe a few nations at this tournament, almost every player will be known to the vast majority of top flight clubs and scouts.

That Elland Road trip is still right up there with the best i've ever felt as a blue.
Singing that they could stuff the dream final up their arse is genuinely the most Everton moment for me. An underdog treated with disrespect and fucking brutalising the media darlings.

United could have fielded extra players against us a few weeks later and we'd have still ground the fuckers out.
