The Evertonian in me tells me there has to be a pretty low release clause in that contract  ;D
Im sure I read somewhere he has a 40mill release clause, in this market, for a player of his ability that's low.

If he starts performing regularly (sure he will), we need to offer him a big contract and remove that clause

45 million release clause. That's what I read in the reports when he signed.

£40m release clause seems a bit on the low side?

Hopefully if it ever comes down to it there’s a few clubs interested and a bidding war starts.
There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch.

For a free signing with no proven record outside of Brazil or the Ukraine?

Seems pretty decent to me

Not if it's a £40m release cluause, it will start and end at £40m

It begins, excellent.
I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

Thought it was £45M.

45M profit would be great business whatever happens.

It's the type of long term security I'd expect Brands to bring.

I don’t see anyone paying that for him tbh.

Maybe around 30mil.

We shouldn’t jinx him by worrying.

Let’s hope he stays fit, plays amazing in every match, helps us get into the ECL, attracts other players of his ilk to the Club, and signs a new contract with us without a release clause.

The shite got £145m for Coutinho, they're not too dissimilar types of player. The big clubs always get higher fees but if he turns out to be top drawer someone will easily activate the clause.

I don't think he's what can necessarily be called a bargain. We got him because we paid big wages, and very likely, a big signing on fee. His people will probably take a percentage of his moving on. Maybe he'll be so good, we'll have to look at ways of keeping him. He's looking good atm. I hope we need to up his financial percentages. If he plays as well as is obvious atm, and he shows that he's capable on a regular basis; we need to keep him. Love the idea of a great Brazilian wizard, playing for us. No doubt about it, he's got loads to offer us. :)

A good little write up from Sky sports about how he has transformed us almost instantaniously, and how things are no doubt gonna get better as the season goes on due to the little magician.
