I know. Defeatist attitude really pisses me off.

Yeah, forget realism, let's all just act like we live in an alternate universe.

Chelsea are a considerably better side than us. Away from home makes it even tougher. We've improved, no doubt about that, but picking up any result here would be an upset and a great achievement.

3-1.

On the plus side, I like BATE Borisov, and put a few Ameriquid on them to get a result off Chelsea today.

It's hard to be upbeat about playing the top 6 away ,our record of about one win in 40 or whatever is abysmal. But we have to forget what went before and believe in a new approach under Silva.
We missed chances at the Arse and didn't have any luck at Man U. Here's hoping third time lucky on Sunday.
We are special ,we are Everton.

2-0 Chelsea

probably similar to the arsenal and united games, ref shite, some bad defending from us, and missed chances

Yeah, Emery at Arsenal, too.  Not sure I like them being less hateable.  :D

Realism and pessimism/defeatism are not the same thing. Unfortunately there are many on here who are defeatist. If the players go in with the same attitude then they're fucked from the start. I've said it before on here and I'll say it again I'd never want to be stood next to some posters on here at a time when a bit of fight and bottle was needed because many in here haven't got it in them.

Strong starting team vs Bate Borisov, which can only be good news:

Arrizabalaga, Zappacosta, Christensen, Cahill, Emerson, Barkley, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Pedro,
Giroud, Hazard.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

Likely to be Kovacic-Kante-Jorginho against us then.
